There’s no way gta v and just cause 2 had the maps they did but horizon 2 can’t. I know different games but still.
as for smaller cars didn’t forza 4 have like 500 cars??

Over 650 cars, DLC included. Two discs were used to hold the standard car list.
Are you serious? The physics engines on GTA and Just cause are massively simplified compared to forza. The models are a lot less defined, and they run at 30fps on consoles iirc.
Why do people always get these comparisons so wrong? That’s like saying an aeroplane has an engine, my car has an engine, there’s no reason it can’t fly.
THe map will be whatever size it is, and that is that. So many elements come into a design decision like that. The map is probably the most important thing after physics. It has to be modelled, textured, tweaked, populated, tested, re-modelled, re-tweaked on and on until release. If it’s 3 times the size of the original Horizon, that is the size they saw fit to include. They might be able to make one double the size with a team twice the size, but that will only happen if this game proves itself and they decide, yep lets double it.
There is also the matter of the seamless transition between offline and online which will limit the map size. So many reasons, so little time.
I just said i know they are different games…
and if they are completely different sizes that mean the entire game will be different. races, events things you do ect. They will have to change everything. Which then would make you wonder why they
didn’t make that clear when they announced the game. you don’t say the game will have 700 events, 3 times the map and available on both systems. when you know damn well it was never going to have it.
But you don’t know it won’t have 700 events and 3 times the map. Nobody really knows anything yet. They are being developed by different teams, and they never specifically said it would be identical. They came out quite early on to say they would be different. But they haven’t said anything of the things you’ve inferred. Until they release definitive details or the games release we won’t know.
They did good by announcing early on that they’re independant games with the same vision. That’s a good thing but they haven’t said xbox 360 game will be tiny with no events. You’re assuming that with little to no evidence. You should wait for some more concrete information before getting all mad. Just wait and see what they show off. If it turns out the 360 version is indeed a poor comparison, you can rant on in a justified manner. If it’s actually quite similar, you’ll look silly. So wait until the picture is a little more filled in before getting upset. From what i’ve seen so far we know very little of the 360 version, which could mean bad things, but it could also mean they are pushing the xbox one version to sell consoles. Which is highly likely.
To be honest I hope the map is enormous. On release day if they tell us that the map is huge an that the game will be three or four discs and over 20 gigs I will be very happy.
As a side note I am hoping that my Ferrari Challenge Stradale from f4 comes along as well. ![]()

20 gig will fit on one single layer Blu-Ray disc. lol
Forza is Turn 10’s domain, and they’re the studio that’s essentially building the game for both consoles. Which means that they’re in charge of making them similar. Turn 10 will be the decider about what will get into the 360 version. And honestly, its really unlikely that they’ll scale down the size of the map. Instead they’ll probably do things like downgrade the graphics, probably use fewer 3D models and more 2D layering. But the map itself should be the same size. I’d expect they gave Playground the roadmap and car list, with a lot of the basic information and said, “These are things you can’t change.”
Turn 10 do not decide. They also do not make the map. Playground games make everything, except for the physics engine. Turn 10 own the franchise, they give help to Playground, and now Sumo Digital, but in now way do Turn 10 ‘make’ Horizon. This has been made clear repeatedly.

My bad, I didn’t follow the news too much until the FH2 announcement. As you can tell I’m new to the franchise. Haven’t done a lot of research so I just made an assumption. But since Forza owns the intellectual property I’d still assume that they’d call the shots as to what has to be in both versions.
I’m not mad or ranting. Just a bit annoyed. There’s only speculation and there doesn’t have to be. I just wish they would say anything at all about it with 2 months to go. They know what they are going to do by now. Of course they want the one version to sell. They could market the 360 version a little too.
I’m getting a little concerned reading all this because I want the 360 version to be good. Of course I cannot justify spending the money for an Xbox One when more important things take precedence, but I was hoping for a little more information concerning the 360 version and if it will be out on time.

They’ve always been like this. It is detrimental to both them and the community but they seem not to care. For example it recently came out that when they tried to build the ring for Forza 4 with the GP circuit connected to the Nordschliefe that it broke the game completely. So they had to wait until Forza 5 to do it. All well and good, but at the time of Forza 4, they kept quiet even when people complained. If they’d only said we tried and it broke the game a lot of people would have been happy with that. But they always go quiet instead of actually communicating.
This will be sadly be no different. They only share what they want to, and that is always cherry picked. Other Devs will share the whole picture warts and all, it’s just not how Turn 10/Microsoft do things.
There’ll be reviews of the game eventually, but right now next gen sells for magazines and websites, so that’s what they’ll cover. From a Microsoft perspective They want next gen to sell, so that’s all they show.
No, it’s up to Playground and Sumo at this point. Turn 10 mostly offer technical assistance, and oversight to make sure things are going smoothly.
I’ve checked a few sellers online and the information on Gamestop and the Microsoft store is identical for both versions. The Best Buy page lists all the features for the 360 but did not mention weather.

What I’m getting from this is that there will be some differences but kind of the same game. This is completely different from what the forza team said but they’ve given us none to little info on the 360 version so it is hard to tell. Also apparently on the 360 there will be lobbies. I’m also thinking because of the Amazon description there will be the same amount of cars. I’m assuming there is day - night on the xbox 360… there better be! Also this is a COMPLETE guess but this is what I am thinking: There is no Drivatars on 360, so maybe 360 will get a story line?? Just a guess but it would make sense because it is a “different game”. Also I wonder if the 360 version will get someone like Alice or the xbox one’s ANNA. On a not so similar note, the car list is supposed to be announced during the summer.
“Take off for excitement with hundreds of events in a vibrant European landscape in road trip career mode, which adapts to your chosen car”
what does adapt to your chosen car mean for the 360 version? They are doing something similar to the drivatar?
The more I think about the “no storyline” the stranger it becomes. There was no actual STORY in 1. It was more like a ranking up with a bit of talking. the opening cutscene was pretty much it.
If they mean there will be the dj talking and hundreds of events, street races everything already there. Then wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of one? You were there to move the ranking and be number one. It looks like the moving up ranks is still there from the videos and plus they have perks and such.
I really hope it’s not just drive to event and do event repeat hundreds of times with no sense of accomplishment as to being the best at the festival. I really wish they would explain that. a real driving force to me is to be number 1 and it keeps you really going as you keep beating everyone and winning everything. The cars are number 1 no doubt, I just really like how one was set up with the ranks, bands, popularity ect. really fun

It mean there will be no characters and ANNA (the assistant) on XBONE. Nothing has been said about radio talkers, or any people in the game. ALTHOUGH there will be a “big thing at the end where all the drivatars get rewarded” I don’t know what they mean by that…
Because there can’t be Drivatars on Xbox One thats why I was thinking a storyline (or whatever their definition of storyline is) for 360 because w/o that, we (360), would have nothing!
I read “adapting to your car choice” as meaning the game will select events that are more usable for the car that you’re sitting in and the ones in your garage kind of like Forza 4, which is nice, because I tried Forza 1 again the other night and that game ran you into roadblocks for not having the right cars.

I recall that the Xbox 360 system runs on C++ code. No new version of C++ has come out recently, so the Xbox One should be able to run the same code as the 360 does, so why do the two games need entirely different engines? I’m a desktop software developer who knows a bit about computers and programming in several languages (I don’t want to get too big for my breeches here, so I’ll leave it at that), and obviously, at least to my knowledge, both the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 should be able to run the exact same engines. I’m assuming the differences are because Microsoft is forcing consumers to buy an expensive game system to get all of the full features.
