The FH2 Xbox 360 version differences.

No surprises here.

I had a feeling 360 would not see weather or Drivatars. I don’t have a 360 anymore, but I am sure it will still be an enjoyable game even if it isn’t the better of the two.

These newer articles with header “different game” is misleading as Hell. they are making it sound like it’s not even horizon 2. no damn duh the game isn’t going to have stuff from forza 5 stuff on 360. That doesn’t mean they put it back in the first setting. If both games are still called horzion 2 then it has to be similar in setting and such… it’s a different engine and stuff from 5 not in horzion 2. when did it become a completely new game all together?

Let’s see if the FM5 forza spoilers, and the Corvette C7 will make into the X360 version of FH2

I don’t know why you’r worrying about the X360 version being in different seetings from the X1 version. It is obvious that there are sacrifices to do.

Also means less bugs for the X1.

i’m well aware of the sacrifices
I just want a great game like 1 with a few new tweaks to it. I plan to get the one version down the road. But right now im planning on getting the 360 version. until i get a one (whenever ms decides to stop making games for it and giving away 3-4 games a month.)

so im interested in both versions

im sorta glad that the 2 versions are not going to be the same.
as it should be MUCH better in every way on the XBone

Mods, apologies in advance for posting this in the wrong forum, but it would be nice to have a dumbed down version of FM5 on the 360. We have FH2 coming to the X360, which is a major plus for all those who haven’t had the opportunity to get a new-gen console yet. Why not FM5 too?

Forza Horizon 2 on the 360 is built off of the original Horizon (360) engine. The Forza Motorsport 5 engine does not have a 360 counterpart; therefore, it is essentially impractical to bring Forza Motorsport 5 to the 360 console.

It is not in T10’s plans to make a dumbed down FM5 for the Xbox 360, and it’ll never be now that it was released several months ago.

FORZA 4 is what you want.

I for one was never after Turn Ten to put weather into their games and I have not heard very many glowing reports about “driveatars” anyway. All I want is a refreshed version of Horizon with new cars and a new environment with cool new challenges! If they can serve that up I will happily buy it.

I would also buy a new version of FM on the 360 if they were so inclined.

I wonder how the 360 will integrate the transition from single-player (solo) to multi-player (online). Parentheses around the terms that the devs used in a recent interview, noting that their goal is to have the experience be seamless.

The X1 version of FH2 will be almost instant transition, using the power of the console & the cloud. I am wondering if the 360 version will have a menu choice from the main screen, the same as FH1.

Ah, here is a major differnce I had not thought of. My guess is it will be the same multi-player system used in Horizon One, which would make sense to keep the costs down.

Firstly I’m pretty sure both ‘versions’ of FH2 will be great, but how great depends on what yard stick you are measuring them by. Especially if comparing the 360 version to the One version.

Personally I’m glad they are making both versions, provided they don’t hold back on the One version that is. Not seen anyone raise this point yet. I do hope they push what the One and don’t hold back in an effort to make Sumo’s job easier.

As others have said though, it’s all about sales. On one hand, there’s a ton of people playing 360 still, and H1 sold well on 360, where as uptake to next gen doesn’t yet outweigh the need to develop a last gen counterpart.

On the other hand, Horizon 2 will be seen as a system seller, and it wouldn’t be doing that job very well if they we’re promoting the fact that the game will be available on 360. A much cheaper offering, considering the game itself is cheaper, the console and a decent wheel can be had for less than half the price of the One on it’s own.

Hence we see a version for both consoles, to maximize sales, and not much talk (yet) of the last gen version, to maximize sales of the One version. I’m surprised that both versions will launch together, I really thought we would see a Titanfall period of exclusivity to the One.

Other than marketing strategy, comparing Titanfall to Horizon is like comparing apples to oranges. Titanfall hardly pushed the One graphically, or even in terms of gameplay. Holding back on next gen? Maybe, or maybe the Xbox One being new hardware held back Respawns ambitions. Hence the 360 version being so similar.

Either way, I’m sure closer to launch we will get the full story. Until then it’s understandable that they hold back details. As long as they don’t mislead anyone with talk of both versions being similar, which they of course haven’t done, then I see no harm.

I have, a couple different times. There was a discussion about open wheeled cars and while I don’t know if any are being included in the XBone version yet, I would hope that decision is made independent of the fact that the 360 won’t be able to support them.

I hope they don’t hold back on either version and produce the absolute best open world driving game they can on both consoles. The one thing I did not care for about Horizon 1 (and don’t get me wrong: I loved Horizon 1) was that there was always that sense of untapped potential, that they could have done so much more with it, but instead they chose to play it safe. With Horizon 2, I hope they don’t play it safe and go all out on both versions. Turn it up to 11 and hide the remote.

You know, I totally forgot about open wheel. I’d like to see Horizon on One not take any steps backward, only forward. So bring back tuning, clubs, storefronts etc things that were missing from Horizon / Forza 5. Open wheel vehicles was a big step forward for me, whilst I don’t expect F1 or Indy cars, open wheel cars like the Arial Atom or KTM X-Bow are legal in many places across Europe, unlike the US.

I got the impression for what has been said in interviews, albeit not much has been said, that both games are being developed independently, rather than one being ported. I could be wrong of course and it wouldn’t be a traditional arrangement anyway as they will have to share many assets, but I hope this meant the Xbox One version could really be pushed.

Time will tell, but with another big open world racing game coming along around the same time, Horizon has it’s work cut out for it on Xbox One. I will remain optimistic.

When you assume the map will be “smaller” I interpret it as meaning there will be fewer accessible areas within the map limits such as off-road sections. The overall map should be about the same size, otherwise they have to redesign the entire game world and all of the courses and challenges. So far there really hasn’t been any info regarding xbox 360 specific versions. I’m hoping the release is not delayed and that a limited and/or day one edition becomes available.

On an unrelated note, if Horizon 3 were to be developed, I’d like to see Japan as the next playable world.

My wife plays Forza too. Painting and racing mostly. She only has one cheevo to get for Forza 3 or 4. So it’s not just a passing thing. lol
She also plays tomb raider and cod, but i can forgive her for that. lol

This just in, Xbox 360 version will NOT support Xbox one wheels, and Xbox One version will NOT support Xbox 360 wheels. It may be a joke, but i bet someone complains about it. lol

I’m glad they’re being developed separately, and hopefully this means both versions will be the best they can. With a separate dev team on each game, it also makes me wonder if maybe Sumo will be brought in to develop a third franchise once all this cross gen nonsense has finished. lol. Dan has hinted at expanding the Forza universe, and it’s not too far a push to imagine Forza Rally or similar. Who knows, but it would be good for a third team to come in and make something else on the physics engine. It would also explain why Horizon 2 is lacking rally even though it was added as DLC for 1.
Whatever they’re doing, splitting it up into two distinct games was definitely the right choice.
