I don’t hate it nor love it, I’m in the middle. The new physics is taking some time to get used to. I don’t mind the leveling system per say but driving the cars stock is a bit boring. The stock gearboxes aren’t meant for racing either, more for gas savings.
This is absolutely hilarious, because just today a big patch released for Redfall.
Including 60 fps performance mode for series X|S, wich was extremely demanded by the community. Plus a ton of fixes and improvements.
Just for clarification: I don’t own Redfall, I never played it or plan to, not my type of game.
But Arkane CLEARLY still supports the game and made huge improvements, from what I heared so far.
How do I know that? TA news. Just because I’m curious on that disaster Redfall seemed to be at release.
Now to Forza Motorsport.
You are so funny to read, bashing on the game like it’s completely unplayable garbage, because it isn’t exactly what you wanted.
Crazy.
There are literally just 3 things on the game (aside from some beloved cars and tracks missing), wich I don’t like about that game.
-
The race engineer is annoying. An option to turn her completely off (separated from the voice over option) would resolve this.
-
The pop up “You are so great, change the difficulty for better experience.” (or similar) on the difficulty screen when you win multiple times in a row beforehand, is also annoying. A don’t-show-this-message-ever-fkn-again-option would resolve that issue, too.
-
Some tracks (especially noticed in Suzuka) have not very well aligned ground textures, wich results in a lot of white lines visible. Looks terrible from cockpit view.
I don’t have a problem with that CarPG system.
Sit in a new car, do some training laps (by the time you level up), do the 1st race, then you are probably already lvl 8-10 depending how long you drive in training and then upgrade the car in weak areas. Repeat that in 4-5 races and you unlocked almost all upgrades. I have 4 cars in lvl 30s already. I like it, it’s fun evolving the car and really feel the difference from race to race.
Is it counter productive for MP players? Probably.
It looks like the game is designed to play through the Builder’s Cup first, upgrading some cars and then jump into MP with them. Or rivals.
Believe it or not: I didn’t experienced any bugs at all. Just some typos and weird wording (hard tyres are translated to heavy tyres, lul) in the german translation. No crashes, no performance issues, no nothing.
It’s not perfect. Some areas are really stripped down to basics compared to FM7, but there’s time to improve that.
For now, I enjoy the new tracks (Hakone is really great) and make my way through the Builder’s Cup.
8/10 so far, with the potential to be a 10 with the right dicisions made down the line.
Looks likes many people here played the game via YouTube to me…
Bummer you’re not enjoying it. I’ve been playing on controller and my very fancy wheel setup both on PC and Series X. And I think it’s brilliant. I’m sn OG Forza fan. I’ve been playing since the first game. Even had four Xbox 360s for Forza 4 when you could run multiple screens with separate Xboxes. The game’s not perfect, there’s some things they need to fix and some features I would like to see come back. But overall I think the game is enjoyable and refreshing compared to the last few releases which were just repeats.
Coming on here, griping and complaining won’t change a thing. Just uninstall it and go play something else.
The story in Starfield is superb but it made my Xbox crash constantly. I had to buy a external fan to play it. It’s the other game I play other than FM.
And when the game’s multiplayer population soon dwindles down to nothing and there’s hardly anybody remaining to race with, I’m sure it’ll feel great to say “at least I didn’t speak up in favor of improving anything to keep the game alive.”
I’d love for you to recount the story of starfield in the briefest of summaries for me. Its such a masterwork, its so vivid to recall.
There is an in-game way that you can offer suggestions. You can also offer them here. My point is: coming on and just splattering the game saying it’s horrible and they need to fix it is not going to improve anything. Constructive criticism and getting the community behind you will make changes. It’s happened before.
A sci-fi masterpiece. The story is so vast, it’s so many different paths you can take. I’d say it’s the story of how everyone had to leave earth, how earth became uninhabitable. I’m on my second playthrough. My first save got corrupted after I completed the story.
We’re never getting another piece of quality artistic work in our lifetimes.
Why would anyone bother trying?
Alright, kids, gather 'round, because today’s lesson is going to be about contractual obligations, first impressions, and why you shouldn’t bring a training knife to a gunfight.
First, let’s talk about Redfall and get that out of the way. They got a patch. That’s wonderful. I’m sure all 24 of the people still playing it are going to be thrilled. Do you want to know why it got a patch? It wasn’t out of the goodness of Arkane’s hearts, I can promise you that. Arkane, according to reports published after the game faceplanted, didn’t even want to be anywhere near the game before it released and was hoping that Microsoft, after scooping them up with Bethesda, would have mercy-killed the entire thing. But, as we all know, that didn’t happen. And so now they are stuck with a live-service video game no one wants from them, but that they still have to work on. So, yeah, it got a patch. Big whoop.
As for this cluster in the making…well, hide behind whatever excuse you want to justify your $100+ purchase. But when Mr. Forza himself feels like this, you should probably pay attention. Do you really think this is getting any better by Tuesday? Or next week? Or next month? How long do you think it’ll be before Turn 10 finally delivers what they promised? And most importantly, how many people do you think will be around to care? First impressions mean everything, and not everyone gets a chance at a do-over. Just because you’re willfully running on the philosophy of “if the bones are good, the rest don’t matter” doesn’t mean that everyone else should just accept what is hanging on those bones.
You’re right. And as I noted earlier, all it took the last time around was a year and a half of consistent pressure and the departures of Mike Brown and several other Playground Games directors. Even then, Horizon 5 still isn’t where it needs to be, nor will it ever get there.
How much does history need to rhyme before Forza Motorsport 2023 gets to that point?
I think I tend to agree, the best videogame story I’ve ever experienced. I ended up purchasing the premium after a few hours of playing. There’s so much meaningful dialogue and I got attached to a few of the characters. (Sarah, obviously.) If it wasn’t sci-fi I probably wouldn’t be into it as much.
Okay, now I cant tell if its sarcasm or not. I thought you were honestly saying it was a masterpiece.
Not sarcasm, I love the game. Over 300 hours.
It will only get worse because people eat this slop every time and beg for more. They love it! They cant even fathom anything better than this right here. Its like a twilight zone episode.
What? Lesson? You are really high up, eh? Do you actually think your opinion stays above anyone elses? What’s wrong with you?
And if you think I click on any link you posted, think again.
I know the story behind Redfall, I followed it quite closely out of curiosity, I thought I made that clear enough, but you seem to be blended by your high up ego, so you couldn’t see it.
And I don’t have to excuse anything, I made clear the game is overall fine, that is MY opinion, I don’t have to justify any purchase to you or anybody else, I spend my money how the fk I want.
All that nonsense you wrote down in self love implised the game is completely broken and everyone will hate it, but it is only you. Only you and a few other keyboard warriors here, who quickly jumped on the hate train with you.
That’s not representative at all, especially because many of you haven’t even played it.
Time will tell how it goes. We will see in a week or two.
It’s crazy how a few of you here simply can’t respect other opinions.
That really reminds me of a special blonde dude, who can’t except other opinions, too…
Forza Motorsport is actually enjoyable! …FAKE NEWS!
It’s obvious to most of us that game got a tough deadline, so they will release more over time.
- things are missing, some have mentioned statistics etc
- how many can you play at a time?
So how is a car model from 80’s or whatever be anything but outdated?
Just all cars in production today?
- would that be 100-200 cars possibly and most EV
Maybe more fair since very few has 120+ fps in comparison
- those with the biggest wallet should have advantage?
All those that run the game now have pre-ordered and some are disappointed.
- I would say all are enthusiasts, and nothing wrong with that
- all have very high expectations
- so it did not fill those hi expectations right at launch
- “I want it all and I want it now”, as a Queen song goes
T10 indicated it’s work in progress.
- if all that is coming were to be there at launch, we would have to wait years still before launch
- devs were seriously behind schedule and do “polishing” and all
- we can still only play one car at one track at a time
I watched the early access live stream yesterday and get the general idea is also to pull interest for racing to new people.
- so they have like a wizard style leading through picking parts you can upgrade which is perfect being new to upgrades and such
- but it felt very linear, so hope you can freely pick upgrades according to available car points or whatever
- I think it was revealed that what is unlocked first is the same stuff for every car, that is a bit worrying too
So linear stuff in upgrades and progress overall in career or anything is not my cup of tea.
- I felt FM7 was pretty good in how that was done
- I have a slim understanding of how changing class of cars will affect abilities to race further down the line in FM7
- so good if new FM has good introductions to how everything is affected by choices you make
There is an accessibility team. I as a blind gamer love somethings they have done and hate others. People keep talking about auto drive, when most of us don’t care to drive like that. If you checked out the settings that the blind assist settings are adjustable. The issues I have are the car prices, they should be closer to real world pricing. Also locking upgrades behind levels is stupid, there could have been another way to handle that. I have some other accessibility gripes like not being able to read the hud, and check my speed. Other than that though it’s a good game and could be even better if they fix some of the issues.
you sound pretty shallow touch grass and realize that it’s not just about you. Yes I miss somethings about those days. I am not going to turn up my nose at accessibility though. It goes along way and none of those things stop you from playing the game.
I was thinking if i would reply or not but after seeing some selfish and arroagnt commentaries, i decided to step in,
First of all, THE GAME HASNT NOT TOOK 7 YEARS, it took 3-4 years, and that it is THE MINIMUM TIME GAME COMANIES USE TO MAKE GAMES NOWADAYS, sometimes takes even 10 years, starfield took 20 from concepts to the gold state.
Second, caling other blinds wont fix anything, it only shows that you are uncapablle to listen to others and respect opinions that dont agree with yours, not just it, not mentioning the lack of respect with people with disabilities
Third, FM was made thinking in updates for long term, the game is planned to work until at least the end of this generation, they wont make another game, they will continue to work on this one as long póssible, specially if people that likes continue working,
Fourth, Likely, the same people that are complaning about the CarXP are likely THE SAME people that beggedin their knees for some type of progesion and some type of gameplay loop that lets you stay more with your car instead of manege to get 10 random cars at once and not to race with no car
Fifith, Its my personal opinion but i prefer the way how FM ius treating their store putting new cars and promos each month, keeping most cars in fair prices and FINNALY CLOSING THE AUCTION SHOP
I prefer the way they are putting in FM than spend 30M creditis in a stupid 1920s car that i would never use unless to race in a special event to get a iten or a car that i really like
Sixth: i found funny how people said “they listen to reddit” when on my personal experience, they were the ones that complained the most and likely are complaained the most and doing memes about the game right now
Last and seventh: dont assume just beacuse we dont see Devs often, they are not working, quite opposite, just like someone already say, RedFall after all that problems got a great patch today, and everyone saw how Forza is doing, it wasnt from today and also isnt beacuse someone left or stopped working, it was months of dedication, testing and optimizattion, the same that hopefully will happen with FM if everyone that likes it end up supporting just like i will do
The game is not perfect, away from that, but i had seen worst racing games (that also manage to get better acceptance by some that also tend to complain about this game nad others) and FM is that, they delived everything they promised, if had something, it was something they talked about months in adivance such as the CarXP for exemple
I think that 3 is a bug you should check on Ytoubleshooting Hub
2 usually have a lot in Forza, FH4 and FH5 had it, but i dont bother in vote for this sugestison, 1 also]
