Ah, got it. Coffee is the most important meal of the day, as far as I’m concerned.
And I take your point about a track’s readiness versus the number of votes cast.

And, once again, this is where being honest about what you’re doing comes into play. Imagine how much more favorable sentiment would be if Turn 10 had presented this game as a reasonably-priced Early Access product and not as a full-priced and feature-complete premium video game. Yes, there would still be complaints about issues big and small - there’s no getting away from that. But when you have games like Escape from Tarkov raking in hundreds of thousands of players and untold amounts of cash while being in Early Access state for years, you cannot tell me that there was a valid reason to move forward with Forza Motorsport 2023 the way that Turn 10 did.
I do not know how to say this any more diplomatically, because I’m convinced that someone on these forums is actively targeting me now. But it has to be said. The conscious choices that Turn 10 made to promote and support Forza Motorsport 2023 have greatly and perhaps irreparably harmed the game and the brand’s long-term prospects for survival. Being upfront about what was happening from the start would have saved Turn 10 a lot of heartache and stress.
It’s a big part of the problem, I’d say. This trend of releasing subpar games and fixing them over time may be common, but it certainly doesn’t excuse the practice. It deserves criticism and should serve as a means to push for higher standards and hold developers accountable for delivering on promises.
Im not against ovals, just merely pointing out no one “voted” for them, because votes are not required to add a track to the game. I didnt like his comment that since no one voted for portimao its not going to be in the game. At this point, with the track list we have literally any track would be welcomed.
I personally think theres a combination of issues surrounding tracks in this game. A lot has changed since the last motorsport with regards to track licensing, i think they blew most of their budget on trivial things and cant really afford to pay the increased cost of licensing through the new licensee.
I think the next 2 tracks will be Bathurst and Long Beach, theyre the last of the most recent additions to the franchise that arent in the game yet. Daytona, homestead, vir, limerock, hockenheim were part of this group. Road Atlanta needs to be redone as its never been accurate and Sebring is probably being held hostage due to licensing.
Thank you, Max, for letting us know about this stream. To be honest, I’ve never watched Forza Friday before, as I thought I won’t learn anything about the game’s development from it. I was wrong, this one was very insightful. I’m glad to see Chris is still around, especially when he speaks freely and isn’t required to use big words to sell the product anymore ![]()
Ever heard of Polyphony Digital? ;D
Gamepass is the problem when it comes to Mircosoft games or game studios owned by them. Mircosoft is showing its true colors when filling their subscription gaming services that countless people think is free with Alpha and Beta products and being supported for doing so by the but I’mgettingit for Free! Army of testers.
Seems to be more prevalent since 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 is a good example. Bought that the second it dropped and we all know how that went, but at least I could muck around with the game files and not fear being banned or the likes. Only played around 10 hours then never returned until the other day and now it runs superbly, but a 3 and a half year wait on my purchase to play the game as it should have been at day one or at least the first few weeks is unacceptable.
6 months in with Forza Motorsport 8 and everything is moving very very slowly. Tracks have dropped to every 2 months and still zero communication on where they plan or want to be next month, just some innuendos on some stream that most only found out about after the fact, handy isn’t it, don’t have to answer any questions from those that frequent this forum.
Thinking it’s best to pack the game away and revisit in 3 1/2 years like CP2077 and then maybe it will be bug free and content rich.
True but i believe that to be a cultural thing, Kaz is quite eccentric.
Can someone explain to me why people don’t like yas marinas? Its one of my favorite tracks. Much more fun then silverstone
I’d say it’s cause it’s a high speed track that doesn’t flow high speed with 90 degree corners after redline.
I’d rather race it over VIR everytime
Everyone has differing opinions, but its kind of a boring track. The best part is the last third, but even thats not particularly technical. Gameplay wise its a power track which imo takes the fun out of it.
I like Silverstone, i think theres every type of corner which makes it a technical track, theres many places that could make or break your lap. Id actually like to see them add past versions of Silverstone, its had a great history.
Haven’t been on this forum for ages, thought I’d check back and see how “built from the ground up” was going…
… really glad I got a refund for Forza 2023 or whatever it is and found AMS2, it’s an absolutely fantastic game - especially when setup with SimHub and bass shakers.
Thanks T10.
I don’t understand your “no one voted for them” comment about ovals. Daytona was highly voted for. Talladega has 149 votes and Charlotte Motor Speedway has 140 votes. Not real high in the mix but people are voting for them.
Now one to Chris. The fact that he even knows about Portimao raises my opinion of him one point. The fact that it has 355 votes and he says “no one has voted for it” drops him back down two points on the opinion meter. Also brings to light concrete evidence the development team isn’t utilizing the forums in any capacity. From the track voting through all the hubs.
“Let’s do a Forza Friday yahoo woohoo and just make it all up as we go along.” Play the game on our SKD consoles with a few select players (who also have SDK consoles so they can play along). And put on a good show so the peasants think we’re doing something good for the kingdom. Then we can all go back to business as usual.
Looking forward to the crash and burn update 8 AI. It should be interesting.
They’re playing on retail hardware, anyone can join their lobbies (though that’s harder with Featured Multiplayer).
I used to race on these streams every week in Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Motorsport 7
Not only Silverstone, but Spa, Hockenheim, the Nordschleife (!), Catalunya, etc. etc… there is SO much that could be done with this. They could add series that utilize both period-correct cars AND track layouts (some revisions to the car classes as they currently stand probably wouldn’t hurt, or at least let us manually choose which cars we want our AI opponents to use).
I feel like T10 is really missing a trick here… they’ve got a whole heap of vintage cars for us to race, but all the tracks we can race them on are the modern version of them. AMS2, for example, has all sorts of classic/vintage/historic tracks, which is great, but its vehicle selection is not as broad as FM. (In some areas, like classic indy or f1, AMS2 wins hands down…in other areas like classic 60s touring cars, not so much).
I don’t expect to ever see it happen, but if T10 ever were to add a bunch of classic track variants, it would certainly go down well with me.
Back when there was still some kind of hope and anticipation, that was a major expectation, especially since we knew that Laguna Seca was going have it’s historical layout. With that said, though, I find that so-called “historical” layout insulting, as it appears they elected to just close off and redirect the track onto an access road running parallel to the modern layout and then have it rejoin at the corner prior to the Corkscrew. I’m sure that when that layout was in actual use, the classic section was wider than said access road.
If that is the kind of effort they’re going to put into bringing historical configurations back, then I’d rather they didn’t. I wanted to see Silverstone’s previous layout return, as well as the Circuit de la Sarthe configuration that Le Mans used prior to the Dunlop curves being added and a Monza layout that incorporated the historic high-banked oval. But I don’t want them if they’re going to be Sweded* versions of what they actually were.
*That movie is not that old. One of you had better understand that reference.
Automobilista 2 is basically the real project cars 3, its a great game and i wish it was on consoles. I always enjoyed racing on these layouts and yes they’d probably work well in a forza game, but i don’t see it happening.
Yas Marina is fine. A track I dont like can be found on the cover of FM23. Paul Ricard just annoys me.
I don’t like it in R3E.
I don’t like it in ACC.
Don’t like driving it with a Formula 3.
Don’t like driving it in a GT3.
The track is flat and boring to me.
I don’t want to drive it in an electric SUV.
Not even in a GT4 Maserati.
I don’t like Option 1-c or even, 1-a.
You want me to play it in Forza? Absolutely no way.
It could be released right this second, theres no way I’d play.
Now, I said more than enough, I’ll be going away.
I have other things to do, so to you sir, good day.
…
I do not like Sam I am
I do not like it in the sun
I do not like it in the rain
If only Dr Suses made racing games!

Chris Esaki mentioned that topic on the stream, commenting on players’ accusations that this layout is “fake”. He tried to understand why anyone is saying this, but didn’t think that’s because they just placed historical part of track in modern scenery ![]()
I’d love to see truly historical tracks in Forza too (considering how many historical cars there are), but I’m afraid it’s not going to happen. It’d require them to create lots of new assets for environment, and if they didn’t make them already for “historical” Laguna Seca (which I’m still disappointed with), then probably it’ll never happen… unless, perhaps, there is at least 1000 votes on track such as this one:
There’s too much Bling and not enough substance.
Game could be Epic if they focused on the motorsport side of things.
Less is more, they got the feeling right then threw it all away with the sideshows
