Chris Esaki has joined Josh for our Forza Friday livestream. Here’s the replay for those who missed it:
There were no announcements made - we make those in our blogs and videos - but Chris addressed many questions from chat about various content requests as well as the challenges to delivering on what the community wants. Please spend the time to watch the full stream to hear what he had to say.
I couldnt watch the whole thing either. But from what i saw in the first 30 mins is, Chris is still a likeable guy
but i still dont think he was/is the right choice to lead this game, ai is supposedly getting a big update next month big enough to warrant no new track, i dont know why more info cant be shared things shouldnt be so secretive, sounds as though the studio is overwhelmed and ill prepared to work on a live service title, he stated how in many areas theres single points of failure i guess that explains what happened and it seems as though the slow drip will continue with regards to updates.
Dont really know what the point of these streams are tbh. Personally i dont care about their personal lives as much as they dont care about mine. I kind of just want to know about the game, fixes, additions etc.
Those are fantasy tracks. They made them. There is no license issue. They can bring em back if they want. I did ask if they were coming but he did not answer that one.
I missed half of it (intermittent AFK) due to IRL stuff. This wasn’t really an announce/reveal stream. More like casual play and a bit of stream chat QA.
I heard Chris say ~90% of the AI brake checking should be fixed, among other AI stuff. I think this was mentioned for coming in Update 8.
He mentioned that they hear us on traffic radar, and have looked at it. No announce, no ETA. Talked briefly about the updated traffic arrows.
There was some talk about improvements to FRR, in the current Update 7 and IIRC, talk about more to come. Something about that there is something wrong with the “Speed Calculator” or something, which FRR (and perhaps AI, IIRC) relies upon.
EDIT: I think he also mentioned wanting to see Drift races return. Very brief comments on this.
That Forza Friday livestream has Cemented what I had already thought, that the game Turn10 is playing is not the game that we the customers do and here’s why @4:50 entering the first turn there are no balloons like the 5 that we have and it’s also missing the Red blimp balloon with the tyre with a face and fists on it, also the tents are different, then when coming onto the start/finish line curved straight next to the building there should be Rescue Red & White Helicopter which is not in that clip along with the other 5 balloons!
And where are all those stupid Prorata flags that litter our game
Its probably not the same version, but their version still has the car crashing into the wall when it gives the player control lol. Chris tried to act like it was Joshs mistake, but it wasnt.

…Wow - how enlightening & encouraging to hear 2 hours of vague chatter about things they won’t commit to delivering.
The only semi-tangible bit I picked up was CE saying that big AI changes are coming in Update 8.
He also alluded to possible matchmaking changes coming, but I didn’t catch when.
