Responses like this is why they don’t do these types of things on the regular. While you may not of got the answers you want, just them discussing things briefly is more than T10 have really ever done in the past. I found a lot of what Chris and Josh had to say quite insightful and gave me some faith they are heading in the right direction.
I was actually surprised with how open they were talking about some of the finer ins and outs of it all.
My biggest takeaway was that I should just be a little more patient with things and keep letting them know what we think of issues/changes in a constructive way.
So this is one of the developers I believe, Mr. Esaki?
I didn’t watch the entire stream but if anyone did, was there mention of the feedback on car sounds being looked at? That’s my only gripe really and preventing me from buying the game to own.
The studio probably is overwhelmed, it’s actually really difficult to correctly do live service. Very much so when a game is launched in a rough state.
Halo Infinite was pretty much the same, delayed, rough on launch and took quite a while for any sort of regular content to start coming and by the sounds of it, support is slowly winding down for it and that game has paid cosmetics.
What in the name of built fromThe ground up have I just watched.?
Don’t get me wrong they seem nice guys and all but some of what they said is just flat out not true.
Spectate mode was omitted as a creative choice, they stated so pre launch.
They’re working on tyre wear multiplier? Err it already exists.
Manual grid ordering? Code already exists in previous titles.
Track additions are based on community feedback?
Yas Marina.
It’s definitely not the same version, even the devs don’t want all that junk around the track, saw the blimp in the sky but didn’t look for the Heli, wonder if that was off as well?
If they can play with the flags and balloons removed why shouldn’t we be able to aswell, less is more and I’d like them to focus on the engine sounds rather than silly trackside bling, heck I’d settle for the roadside weeds like in the promo trailers
Didn’t bother watching past 10min, went and mowed the lawn
There sure is and the more I think about the engine sounds the more the game turns me off. Sure there’s a ton of vehicles but reusing the sounds on multiple Supercars is a big no no.
If it’s a commercial entry level type it’s not so bad but when it’s something that has an unmistakable sound like most Italian cars do you can’t just add anything you feel like, you have to get it right.
I understand that T10 are working with the upgrades that change the sound as you add or remove parts and it works well on some vehicles but then there’s others like the Pagani’s that should sound like absolute perfection with no upgrades and even when you try all the different upgrades they still sound nothing like the real deal, not. even. close.
There’s probably only one vehicle in each category that sounds similar to what it should and they are the ones I play with. Then there’s some others that sound rather average but when you change the aspiration and pick the right driveshaft and flywheel etc can sound exhilarating.
It’s just so messy I can’t see how it’s going to be fixed before the next racing game comes along.
The only other game I have spent this much time posting on was The Division 2 back in the day and it’s only cause the game I loved got all messed up, like this installment of Forza M
Also; yes the code exists, but they need to copy the code again for single-player and retest it to make sure no issues happens.
And these improvements (radar,gt division rework, ghosting improvements, UDP data out improvements, spectator mode returning and AI brake checking at flat outs ) are great news
Given how they spoke before launch and the trainwreck we got I don’t give much on the words in the stream.
It’s good to hear the game won’t go the Anthem route but let’s see what we eventually get.
Yes, not sure you’re getting the irony about how difficult is to copy and paste code. I’m no coder but I’d bet my house it could be done in less than 6.5 years
The trackside activities are optional, but not on the players end. About an hour ago I was practicing in a FMP race at Maple valley, and the flags, balloons, banners and helicopters were nowhere to be found. There was a minimal amount of people in attendance for the race, and the stands were largely empty. I wonder if this was due to keeping the FPS stable, or just to mix it up but, either way I want to see player options to remove the trackside festivities especially, if it has a positive effect on frame rates.
Also, I have seen this happen in single player career races. Lessened trackside animation isn’t limited to the developers. We get it, we just can’t control it. Hopefully we’ll be able to do so in the future. This is what I would have asked Chris and Josh if I knew the live stream was happening and had time to join in.
I used to play Pro Evolution Soccer in 2010s, and there was an option to use training ground stadium for a match, I loved felling of everything being focused on the main thing, football in that case.
On FM I’d love to see bare tracks, like in real life, without cameras, helis, blimps, only few spectators and my car and track.
If we have some race Series type of event like Nascar, GT3 or something than give me flags, fans, everything…
But there’s no way there would be thousands of spectators watching me race in D class with my banger Fiesta… It’s simply unnecessary, I’d rather see resources used in simulation physics or for better/more stable graphics experience.
Absolutely agreed, but the problem is that this is a console focused racing game (despite me playing on PC with triple screens). Graphics and over the top visuals will always have precedence over real substance.
I couldn’t help but wonder if the irony was lost on him while he was singing the praises of SHUB’s effectiveness and eulogising the much-listened-to community, considering that the newest track they were playing was only the eleventh most voted on.
