Your "Entitlement"

Not sure in what type of business you are my friend, but if you call that “greed” then business all over the world should be called greedy, because that’s exactly how business works, well at least those proving successfull in the current global economy. Even in new car retail this became common practice. You buy the base model and pay for the extras/add-ons at sometimes a heavy price. But it’s still up to you if you buy the base model in the first instance and the add-ons in the second instance. You either part of the success chain or not. If not, well then tough cookie, many others will and do. No reason why the game devoloping industry should do otherwise.

Have to agree that the sense of entitlement is everywhere these days and the gaming world is one of the worst places for it. Mind you if you think It’s bad round here It’s nothing compared to the forums for Destiny.

No one is forced to buy the dlc
It’s an optional extra
You dont HAVE to buy it
The game plays the same with or without it
If you dont want to spend your money dont buy it
Its YOUR personal choice if you want it

I haven’t played in months. Just thought I’d pop in to see what’s new. Not much apparently. I don’t think I ever felt like I was entitled to receive anything other than a working game that has similar features to past Forzas. I don’t feel like I got my money’s worth on this FM, nor the last one, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the cars. Anyway, this could very well be my last post here. I played every Forza ever made, a ton, but the fun is completely gone now. T10, prove that you can still make a fun racing game that isn’t some half hearted mess and maybe I’ll come back. The physics are there, but the features, game modes, penalties for cheating, ways for the community to interact with one another and much more are not there at all and it’s just very disappointing.

Take care all. It was fun. Well, at least it was fun a few years ago.

Oh and goodbye FM.net Mods. Hey now you don’t have to spend any time approving (or denying) every post I make. Yay!

I’m sure you feel entitled to come back real soon.

Said it before and I’ll say it again, FM4 with everything it had to offer was over $200 including a $30 Porsche pack. So it’s been the exact same way for almost 6 years.

I have no problem paying Turn 10 for their work, I mean if I had spent $200 on FM6 already that would be less than $.50 per hour of entertainment for me(you could spend 50 cents for 5 mins on an arcade game) and it’s only getting cheaper the more I play.

As talby said if you like it buy it, if you don’t like it don’t buy it. There’s no sense in arguing about opinions since they are just that personal opinions.

The whole point of purchasing any of this bundled content is that it is subsidized. The Car Pass is a prime example, you get six car packs for $30. The individual car packs are $7 each ($42 for six). This means that you are saving yourself $12, or nearly two free car packs, by getting the car pass. For us Ultimate edition owners the savings are even bigger, we got $132 of content for just $100. With the Porsche pack you are still $12 in the black. If people are going to whine about paying $0.76 on the dollar for a game plus a bunch of content, that is their prerogative, but it just makes them sound ungrateful.

A thread dedicated to whining about whining… how did this not get locked?

Yet here you are

I went grocery shopping last night.

They had 3 loaves of bread for the price of 2.

I was angry that they did not chuck in a tub of butter for free as well. After all I bought butter from them last week.

So now I am never going to eat bread again.

LMAO. Enjoyed that. Great analogy. AND yeah, they’ve now lost a customer because they were “greedy” ? (or so I see). LOL.

Now that made me laugh.

Man how did we ever survive the early playstation and Xbox days where there were no available dlc or expansion packs.the only way to get new content back then was to buy the next game.,no body complained or called the companies greedy when they came out with a game and then part 2 and 3 came out not long after.if there was a game expansion or added content you had to go out and buy the same game you just bought a month ago!

I bought the extended edition, but I don’t think T10 owes me any more than anything described.

It’s ridiculous that people demand discounts on something that was clearly not in the product description. You got what you paid for.

Still wish there was another way to get the Aston, though. That challenge was difficult.

I don’t know, looking at the dictionary definition of “Ultimate”, I’d go as far as to say that it ought to include everything there is or ever will be. That is every single car and every single track. If there is an edition that includes a lot, but doesn’t really include all there is, then it should NOT be called the Ultimate Edition. Really now, why call it Ultimate, if there really isn’t anything Ultimate about it?

Ultimate does not mean to include all…that would be a Complete Edition
Ultimate would be the best which it was of the 3 different available versions
Not sure where you found the definition to mean including everything

Dictionary.com

The most common meaning of Ultimate is that there’s nothing beyond. If you’ve got the Ultimate, there’s nothing beyond you could have. I do not find it surprising that people would wrongfully believe that purchasing the Ultimate Edition means that they’ll get absolutely everything. Surely, the Ultimate Edition + Porsche Expansion goes beyond the Ultimate Edition alone, so the Ultimate Edition alone is NOT “Ultimate” in the meaning of the word, or?

Ultimate means exactly what you’re saying, it’s absolute, but it refers to time of sale. AND at time of sale it was no doubt the ultimate. But expanding/adding to top of the range products is nothing new in the world of sales. Basics is “offer and acceptance”. One offer, the other one decides if he accepts - as easy and common as it could get in the current century.

Ok fair enough if you interpret that way…
but it was at the time of release…there wasn’t and there still isn’t an edition beyond that
It’s still the most inclusive edition until a complete edition is released if one ever does
