I feel this is something to be read by all, and it’s really hacking me off.
There’s a growing sense of entitlement on these forums by people not getting what they feel they should, and although you are most welcome to your opinions (of course), you seem to fail looking at the finer details. It’s something that is repeated by many people over and over and seems to be something that is ignored
Every
Single
Time.
So you bought the Ultimate package on launch. Good on you, you got:
Early access
FM 10th anniversary car pack
VIP Status
The car pass
The FnF car pack.
Nice stuff. HOWEVER, no where does it mention that the Porsche Expansion or the recent implementation of the Unicorn Cars were also included… So why are you complaining you haven’t got them? All lver there have been people saying their farewells, that they aren’t coming back - someone even pleaded extortion and slander. To these people, I say good riddance.
You are not entitled to these 2 areas. They were not specifically outlined as to being given to you when you bought the Ultimate version. So do not give us that “I paid over $100/£90 and aren’t getting what I paid for” rubbish. You bought the edition being told totally transparently what you were receiving, and the Unicorns came as a surprise anyhow. You get what you pay for.
And here’s to the future: I would be happy to place a metaphorical bet with someone that says that after this 6th car pack (the March one, that is) people will be making threads because they have to pay for the April pack because they didn’t read that the car pass gives access to 6 monthly packs.
I’m sorry if this came accross rude, but it kinda had to be said…
I completely agree when it comes to the people who bought the Ultimate Edition then start demanding that they get the Porsche Pack etc included in it. I don’t agree with Unicorns in general though, but that’s for another topic!
The whole Unicorn thing is massively taboo. I was getting more at people who think that because they bought the Ultimate Ed. they are automatically entitled to them.
As you say, that’s a whole different ball game lol
Entitlement is a problem with the internet in general. Nobody realises how well they have it and always expects something more, more, more, and even when they get it, they want more on top of that. Like someone so obsessed with adding icing to their cake they forget to actually eat it.
I don’t (personally) think it’s rude. And I agree, something had to be said. Unfortunately, those of us who legitimately take/took the time to read and understand this aren’t the ones who need that message. Those that do won’t read, won’t care, and/or counter you with “reasons.”
That reminds me of one of my favorite quotes. “You don’t know what you have until its gone.” Doesn’t really have much to do with the topic at hand, but hey. Food for thought.
never felt entitled to anything more with the ultimate, definitely used everything in it. Unicorns I got a few not to worried about collecting them all. But the VIP set up people thinking they might get a discount with a massive dlc because 3 other games gave discounts… I really thought there would be a discount. BUT I happily paid for the Porsche pack and don’t regret it. I love it. Never been GIMME GIMME Though. I’ve enjoyed the heck out of 6, Porsche DLC and can’t wait to see what H3 offers
I’m not sure how this is more or less helpful, glad you got it off your chest. I guess I wonder why the class warfare though.
As if those that bought car pack don’t feel entitled or the more casual players getting there way and there’s no overall leaderboards. Is that not entitlement. Happens all over the different types of persons
Not sure why you have to lump all the ultimate edition people all together. If it wasn’t for us there would be a lot fewer cars (you know the people that preorder and buy the DLC, that allows to fund the game
I didn’t complain one bit about the Porsche pack–and yes there are some perks for pre ordering and purchasing a game more then retail value. So I hardly blame someone new to the game from getting upset about that. It very much does seem like they are moving the goal post to an uneducated eye. I’ve been around and under stand the Porsche issue more so I expect. What happened. If you didn’t understand the issues with liscence one could think they were being taken advantage of (and day one DLC is a kind of sore point. To most.)
I would thought this response would have been a lot better in the thread that created the angst. I would have already ignored when I saw they were complaining about having to buy th Porsche pack. That’s really clearly the audience, correct?
(I’m getting in a racey mood so I probably should stop posting)
He isn’t saying that it is ALL those that bought the Ultimate Edition that are acting like this but there are a few that make the entitled comments every time something not included in it comes up , as will indeed happen with the April car pack
The same comments are coming from some of those that bought the Forza Edition console, which was just the console and the standard edition of the game…paid for the console and game …nothing else is entitled
“I bought this so i should get this included” even though it’s not in the product description…it’s an entitled statement which is so common with the younger people about ( not all of them though)
Have to agree with the message behind the original post…
i bought the Ultimate edition as well as I’m sure the OP did as well
Man you have no idea what you’re talking about. You really can’t say someone who spent $60 on this game is “casual” and someone who spent $90 is “hardcore”. On top of this, the DLC cars are mostly finished by the time the opportunity comes to preorder these games. Buyers of Ultimate Editions don’t really fund that much of the DLC. As the OP stated, the Ultimate Edition clearly stated what was included. It never mentioned Porsche and additionally, no one even knew about that add on when the game dropped.
And no one should take your bet
Because there will be multiple posts concerning how the cars should be free.
I don’t necessarily disagree with you. There is a narcissistic attitude that prevails nowadays. Just saying back off the class warfare bit. It’s not ultimate edition people it’s just those persons that have the issue.
It’s not fast guys slow guys. There are just jerks and great people in every group
I wasn’t meaning to point at all Ultimate owners. Of course, as one myself and knowing many, 85% or so don’t complain, but I feel that number is shrinking because more and more seems to he coming out that is being charged for, and people who have paid X amount are feeling cheated, even though the DLC clearly stated what was what with it (if that makes sense)
I’m not deliberately trying to be necessarily argumentative, rude, etc, but I’m trying to make a point - a blunt one perhaps. It’s something that’s becoming more and more common, with arguments becoming more and more heated.
How this thread will help? It may be a long shot, but I am hoping it will help people be more aware.
Thank you for posting this. It’s a never ending battle with the buffoons on here.
As for unicorns, you didn’t buy them. They are made available to you, but have to be earned. Some people don’t get that, it seems as though they have been hand-fed their whole lives.
I’m not too good with this stuff but I will say this. I didn’t buy the Ultimate. That being said I didn’t get everything. But I will say that I am very happy with my game. I knew what I was buying and I thank T10 for being transparent. Did I have to pay for the Porsche full price? Yes. But I am satisfied with it. To me it was a good value. I don’t mind the unicorns as long as they’re achievable. (Like to earn my way anyways) It makes it fun and a little more satisfying to win them. Again I can’t speak for no one else just myself. But I wish everyone the best and happy racing.
Gaming is a huge bargain when you look at the hours of entertainment to cost ratio. The Porsche/VIR pack was $20 and I spent at least 20+ hours in the last couple of weeks playing it. That’s less than a dollar an hour for some fun, if I never played again it’s a bargain compared to going to the movies, a concert or out partying.
Now, the cost of my cable bill…
This has always been my benchmark for game value. I know that I could easily drop $20 an hour in a video arcade, so if I am getting more than 3 hours of quality game time, I feel like I got my money’s worth.
The great thing about Forza, for me, is the limitless amount of quality game play I get. I’ve spent thousands of glorious hours playing Forza, and I can still throw FM2 in the 360 and enjoy myself.
I will gladly pay extra for value and the Porsche expansion includes a great track with the cars, so I know I will enjoy plenty of quality time there too.
I like the Unicorns, because in my opinion, it helps keep some folks engaged in Forza activities. Forza has always had a good community, and in my opinion the Unicorns make it even stronger.
Some will always find things to complain about, and no rant on the forums will end it. I think it’s fine to let folks vent their complaints, if they can do it constructively. It is their opinion and could be valuable feedback for the developers on some issues.
Anyway, it’s time to do some racing.
this entitlement problem isn’t just limited to gaming, but you are right it is getting way out of control.
the way life works is simple. you are born with nothing and you have to earn everything you get. (in this game its ridiculously easy to earn what you need, but its still there).
the one thing I have noticed, are the people that are the happiest in life know this simple truth, the world doesn’t owe you anything.
