Why can't they just listen to the community?

I understand wholeheartedly why everyone is upset with FM7, and for good reason too. Personally the only thing I’m happy with is the in-race gameplay and graphics. Everything else is an utter letdown!

Career mode was a mess, with most series being unplayable if you’re just starting due to lack of funds for purchasing cars needed.

Obviously multiplayer is the elephant in the room! What the heck is this homoligation only trash? Why not stick with what’s tried and true? Give us class lobbies, as well as your spec series, and THAT aspect would be addressed. Include the drift and drag lobbies for those who enjoy them. Give the community freedom to race how they want, not how you think they should! And for god sake, fix the party chat switch when going into multiplayer.

Release the game as a whole, don’t give us 1/4 of the game and say “oh you can have the rest later” our options are already slim at best. I personally paid for the ultimate edition, as i always have, and have been playing faithfully since 2005. But this release left me with very little faith in the series.

The “VIP” you gave us is a huge winner, with false advertising, and lack of content. I’m glad my $40 went to a good cause and not some joke of a VIP membership…

Why don’t you listen to the people who hand over their hard earned cash to support what they love? How difficult is it to release a game that will appeal to those who enjoy playing it? There are thousands of good ideas coming from the community, make Forza an actual racing title again! Bring back the long tracks like Fujimi and Positano, bring back point to point. Maybe…just maybe add a dirt track or 3 for all those useless trucks you give us! Develope a new tuning system that delves deeper into “tuning”! I mean… NFS:U2 had a Dyno…it’s 2017, why won’t the most advanced racing game to date allow me to adjust compression, fuel, boost…ect. and don’t get me started with the body modifications…

I truly had high hopes for this game, I was more excited for FM7 than I have been for any title released to date, and sadly I’m the most disappointed. There’s no passion anymore, there’s no care for the community… You haven’t even posted a statement, regardless of all the negative feedback. Pull your head out T10, or get out of the industry and make way for someone who can!

This is my rant, like it or not, I have been Forza loyal for 12 years, but every good thing comes to an end I guess…

Because, T10 probably have MS controlling the overall design. If MS demand Loot Boxes then that’s final.

T10 is Microsoft. This isn’t a developer/ publisher relationship, T10 are as integrated a part of Microsoft as the Office365 team. Turn10 employees are Microsoft employees. Alan Hartman’s (Studio Head at T10) boss is Phil Spencer (head of Xbox), whose boss is Satya Nadella (CEO of MS).

It makes no more sense to let T10 off the hook for Forza being lousy than it would to let the Platforms and Devices Group off the hook for Windows being lousy. It’s not even incorrect, it’s incoherent.

Why can’t they just communicate with the community?

Agreed 100%.

I’m in the Rivals drift menu. I was hoping I would get to do what I did in past titles, put an LSx in a Silvia and drift away. But no, I’m stuck drifting a STOCK MIATA! Seriously?!?! I’ve driven many Miata’s irl, they are dogs, why the hell would I want to drift one stock in a video game? Why put an option for a 4 rotor engine swap if we can’t drift the damn thing in rivals. There is actually no way to drift ANY OF MY CARS from my garage in the Rivals section. I guess I can drift it by myself in free play? Is that what you were going with there?

I don’t get why Turn 10 rushed this, 1X doesn’t release till next month. It runs fine on my PC but its stutters in the menu’s. Its loaded on a Samsung SSD. Everything up to actually racing is a stuttering mess.

I’ll give it some time, I didn’t spend the $100 like others did. BUT, I won’t be recommending this to any of my friends until you fix or release the rest of the contents.

I don’t understand why it’s so difficult for them

First off I agree with you - so much is missing from this game or broken from the previous version, it feels like half a game.

It’s been said many times that it’s all about money and I’m sure that’s the case. Unfortunately the vocal minority on here - the long-term fans, the racers hoping for proper motorsport, the avid painters, tuners, drifters, etc, those basically with a PASSION for Forza - don’t fit with where they perceive the money to be. That’s a new generation of players, used to the freemium and microtransaction economy, the new players who don’t know what’s missing from previous iterations. As we’ve already been told; if we don’t like the direction they’re going in there are lots of other games to buy.

Listening to the community isn’t important, we’re paid lip service only. Otherwise we’d be told what is coming, why features are being held back, they’d acknowledge issues ON HERE where people are shouting. But we know communication with the player base is poor, and it won’t change.

I love the driving underlying this game. The whole game could be great. T10 have the potential to be great. It’s just a shame that it’s not.

The multiplayer is just awful.

If this isn’t addressed quickly I will be asking for a full refund and never again Forza. We need class lobbies and freedom online. This restricted approach has me disgusted with the game.

I do agree with you, it’s v v frustrating. I was counting down to the 29th and lookong forward to hitting maple valley or mugello in rivals and getting back into these iconic tracks but nope. The 1 main stay, the freedom to pick a car, pick and track and spend the next god knows how long lapping it has gone. It was my favourite part of forza.
Foolishly I thought maybe they’ll bring it back for full release so people don’t get a head start, nope.
I don’t want to be told see how fast you can get this car round this track after we auto upgrade for you.
My multiplayer doesn’t seem to work at all and I’ve got 30mb fibre, everytime i go into a lobby the game restarts.
I know this is going to sound flippant but for the last few months I’ve been saying what will the paid expansions be?
Well now I think we know, £30 and we’ll get full mulitplayer and a full rivals mode. Shame on you T10, Shame on You :frowning:

I think I’ve bought one car so far, not including the heavily discounted/free cars from levelling up, and I have around 1.5m cash, and that’s after buying out all the specialist dealer cars and buying mod crates too, as well as a few more expensive ones just to see what you get… I’m only level 40-odd and about halfway through the Forza Drivers Cup. Not really touched MP, rivals or freeplay yet either.

They do listen. What they don’t do is discuss.

Things that we (the community) asked for following the release of 5 and 6.

A career with progression
A career that rewards progression
A reduction in CR payouts
More cars
More tracks
Dymamic weather
Dynamic lighting
Closer racing
Tighter restrictions on the cars able to compete in each race
Better wheel support
More body kits
More rims
Longer races
Championship points scoring
and so on.

Of course, there were other things asked for that haven’t appeared.

If you had the time or inclination to read back through four years of worth of threads you’d be surprised at how many heavily requested features have been introduced. However, T10 take their own view on how best to introduce said features so whilst they may be present they haven’t necessarily been implemented the way someone wanted. The flip side of the coin is that whilst something may have been overwhelmingly requested it wouldn’t have been a feature that every one wanted so now you have the other camp complaining.

When you’ve been around the forum some time you’ll notice a trend.

FM6 is rubbish - change it
FM7 is rubbish - we want FM6 back

Some of this is because people are fickle and like to complain. Some of it is because people complain the second they load the game without giving the game a chance and some are genuine and well considered complaints.

This is fair. However we didn’t know we needed to specify we wanted them in addition to features already present in the game.

I agree with pretty much all of this. To me it seems they listen but don’t care. I’m sure they knew loot boxes wouldn’t go down well and the shift (as it appears) towards a mobile style microtransaction economy, but only a minority will leave the franchise and they will be far outnumbered by new customers.

What I don’t understand is the change for change’s sake, none of which are game breakers for me but together make the whole experience frustrating. They’re done to death elsewhere, but removing AI from private lobbies, losing fine control with the d-pad in the paint shop, removing the restart button, making the switch between testing and tuning clunky, etc, etc. Then there’s the arrogance of the whole NVIP issue.

Anyway, I’m going to get on and enjoy what we have, and hope that some of this gets fixed in updates. But like many others, pre-ordering the UE is highly unlikely to happen again.

Forza Motorsport 2,3 and 4 all had careers that rewarded progression and each one had more content than the previous installment. I know for certain FM2 had a decent amount of championship races.
I heard the dynamic weather and time isn’t on every track and that some races in a championship give more points than others, is that true?
I don’t think many people that play career wanted much tighter restrictions on what they could do with a car, it’s probably quite good if you’re competitive in the multiplayer but it’s always been a massive part of the series.
It’s great that they added some things the community asked for but they added things that people don’t want and removed features that have always been part of the series. I think making much better AI should be something worth adding, it would benefit every game in the series.

I do think the driving, tracks and weather are great in FM7 but the whole package is a bit disappointing.

I know Microsoft probably have a hand in some decisions but you’d expect them to let Turn 10 have a bit more independance. At the moment it looks like it’s negatively affecting sales.

Hopefully more people who played the game for years not buying it or refunding will make something register with them, first one I not had on release and likely wont unless its gifted to me sometime, fed up paying for games these days with disappointment to follow in design choices that could be understandable in budget/mobile titles or early in a franchise life.

Only way a company notices is either community feedback or just not buying into it anymore and sales figures disapoint, the feedback seems to be here so hopefully we get a FM5 like patch to change things up announced before long and some of us can be tempted back in.

Its gearing more towards casuals because thats where the money is. You mentioned about graphics and thats whats gonna make the game sell, especially the car list as diverse as it is (even with the absence of toyota/lexus), unfortunately more and more hardcore fans are disappointed and you can see why, just look at Pcars 2 or AC and you’ll see alot of differences.

As Dadio even said they have actually implemented alot of features we asked for, perhaps not as we expected; its just they seem to release a game then patch up the problems and add things when by that time people have already gotten their refunds. Would be easier to fix them beforehand like the matte drivatars

I think because they dont have answers .

-Why did you changed rivals ?
-T10:we dont know . But 4k 700 cars bro .
-what is up with the bodykits only in forza edition cars ?
-T10:Because forza edition cars maan !dabs furiously
-What is this homologation thing ?
-T10:We … we were pretty drunk while doing that system .
-So why no ai in private lobby ?
T10:Becausee… hey did you see the driver gears ?

I want to know were the hell test drive has gone… What moron took it out? Now it’s a real pain in the rear to tune cars…

I’m enjoying Forza 7, I haven’t played it as much as I did with 6 in the first few days,
loot crates…okish.
Driver gear…makes sense
homologation…not sure why have this as it kills off tuning
multiplayer not working…I haven’t tried it yet but i’ll wait til the reports are good on that one.
700 + cars, ok but you can’t even check them all out in the buy car menu as so many are locked.

also to note I have only just started the 4th race of the 2nd cup as I’m now able to do extra long races as and when I please(which is every time so good job there)

main bug I have noticed is when I download a livery for a car then next time I fire up Forza 7 and start racing that car, livery has gone and have to find it again.

Have to say overall I’ve played forza a long time and generally enjoy every offering for what it is, but in order to hit teir 11 I played forza 2 for 2 weeks straight as I missed it originally and have to say it was alot more fun of the bat.

Just seem to remember Dan Greenwalt saying in an interview that unlike most motorsport games they were ahead with finishing Forza 7 which gave them more time to perfect it…or mess it up as it appears, Oh well can’t wait to see how the car pass shapes up, wonder when that’ll begin rolling out.

Because they don’t care. As long as you pay for it, you’ve done everything they want from you. It doesn’t matter if people complain here or on reddit, as long as the sales flow, they don’t care.

They don’t care who buys their product. If they lose long, die-hard Forza “veterans” with their new direction but win >1.1times new customers for each “veteran” gone, they don’t care.

Conclusion: If you have serious issues with this game, vote with your wallet, not with complaint.
