Nostalgia is a seductive liar.
However, when individuals say FM4 was better I believe they refer to its community focus.

Sure, FM4 was far from perfect technically, but as a whole package from a player’s perspective, runs rings around this one. Look at the features FM4 had that have disappeared: proper leaderboards, proper multiplayer, personal storefronts, file sharing, clubs, virtually anything PI class based, have I missed anything? These are all features that us self centered, entitled plebs are wishing for, but instead we get…this. FM7 has a good career mode, but not much else. What makes this sadder is that FM4 was released on a far inferior machine than what we have today.
I would play TOCA Touring Cars & Colin MacRae Rally untill the cows come home. Then there’s Smackdown 2, Metal Gear Solid and the original few Tomb Raider games which are still some of the most playable and addictive games that I have ever played. FM is really slipping. I guess that the devs have a vision for Forza Motorsport, one which many players do not share with them.

When it yields you a Ford GT or a Shelby GT350R, I bet there are a lot of people who would be a Dev.
There are photos around of the Turn 10 carpark out there. Jaguar FType R, Audi R8 and many other desirable machines show that these guys are compensated well for ignoring their community and treating it with contempt.
And as an older gamer of this forum, it makes me despair to see another older gamer resort to name calling. That makes me quite ashamed.

You should open and read all the threads in forum . No ai in private lobby/split screen , rival problems , homologation , ai problem , cant put bodykits if the car is not forza edition , silence of turn10 and more . Thats why the hate . And they are right to hate . Like i said before , i hope they will get more refunds . Maybe then theese stubborn guys will hear the community and starting to care about them .

To be honest you shouldnt have to patch a bunch of things in the first month of release, just get them fixed before releasing, people debate whether a 2 year cycle is actually enough. Who knows what else could be added if they had say another year for development

I can forgive a lot of the little bugs in PC, the memory leak when selecting new wheels is the only one I’ve found that’s game breaking, the races run butter smooth at 60fps locked in 4k. i deal with some menu performance issues. The thing I can understand why they changed is time trials/class Rivals. It’s such a simple fix to add homologated division rivals and class PI rivals for every track… Why drop it? Why not add it back?Forza 4 had it perfect, it showed your current rival Ghost and your Best time ghost and you just got to drive. I would spend hours trying to gain fractions of seconds and trying to break into the top 100 of the leaderboard with the cars of my choice.

As a long time Forza player since the first game this will be the one I skip unless they make some major changes. The game seems to have went downhill since FM4, I was actually a fan of the huge list of races in FM 4 and you just find a car you want to bring to that race as long as it fit the “loose” requirements and race it. FM5 was a let down for me FM6 was a bit better and kept me playing a bit longer, but this is it man. I just cant stand the locked tiers, loot boxes, driver suits and all the other junk that is creeping from mobile free to play games into full priced console games.
Yea yea yea, development is expensive however raising the price of games will NOT help that out because physical copies always end up having huge price drops unless the game is GOOD aka GTA5. Im older and cranky now yea 37 isnt that old but my game time is not what it used to be and I dont like FM for what 7 is, I liked it for what 1-4 was.
I guess I just want FM4 all remade again but it seems it may never get there again, oh well it was fun while it lasted. I still have 6 to play…even though I am not a big fan of that career mode. I am a single player only FM player and this is a let down. I just want to play some races with different cars that I have modded some have ridiculous mods some dont and have fun. If I wanted plain old cars I cant do anything with there are other games out there.
Honestly now I feel lost with no sim(cade) racing game to love on the horizon (no pun). And I have access to all types of games I have a ps4 pro, gaming pc and xbox one s, none of that matters because Forza was always my favorite and racing game I had the most fun with.

I hate this game, I have every Forza even the Horizon ones, this one is way to difficult for no reason

Difficult? Tried turning down the difficulty of the A.I? If you’re still finding the low level A.I’s difficult, then I’ll bring your attention to this

My biggest complaint is that I paid extra for the VIP and it’s been the most worthless of the Forza series. My fault, I should have read better beforehand. I also think that Forza loyalty rewards were disappointing. I guess buying every game in the series doesn’t mean as much anymore.
The most irritating gameplay change is the forced rolling start. I think this is some sort of NASCAR influence, and I don’t like it. It was added as an OPTION in F6, but it appears standard in F7. T10 should give me the option to turn it off.
Edit: And the driver costumes don’t add anything to the game. They’re a meaningless feature.

I know they will throw in useless features no one asks for and then say “we did this for the community”.
For this reason I have a firm principle in place - never buy DLC unless you first see what’s in store and the items in question go on sale. Oh, this one I wish had been added to the list as well: never pre-order a T10 product.
Hmm, one thing I won’t fault the game for is the challenge and physics which have definitely been improved over FM6. Perhaps stop playing it like a NFS game and more like an actual car on a track? If you haven’t much experience driving at high speeds on a track or open road, I’d suggest getting to know some basic precision driving principles.
Those will help big time. Just to give you a quick example: slow in, fast out, do most of your braking before a turn, start to turn in slowly, modulate the throttle/brakes to adjust your trajectory and get ready to power out of the turn right after or as soon as you hit the apex. Time your downshifts and be very strategic about upshifting during turns. I think it will be a while (if at all) before Forza truly starts catering to serious car and driving guys, but difficult the game is not. Heck, even at the second-last difficulty setting, you can finish in the top 3 if you drive properly, learn how the AI behaves and tune your car. If tuning is available, tune the heck outta yer car! Understand what setups work best for each track. H3 and FM6 way too forgiving IMO.

Maybe it’s because the latest patch messed up my game and it won’t even start now! Maybe it is because half the cars sound like utter crap and turn 10 even know it. Maybe it’s because people paid good, heard earned money to have a finished game and not what they gave us. I can’t even launch the game! Do you understand why there is hate???

People complain because they don’t like change but would also complain if it stayed the same. The PC is prone to problems, you just have to watch the Angry Joe Show to see how many new games crash. PC games were great in the 1990’s, not so much now.
That’s because the community has been asking for a modern Forza Motorsport 4, we don’t want a fm5/6/7 although 6 was good it wasn’t enough, FM4 was pretty much open, you could play it the way you wanted to and not the way the devs wanted you to, FM4 catered to everyone, from the casuals to the hardcore. Clearly the devs must not read this forum since they only ever talk about the upcoming patches to the game.
