I do all my own tunes, and they generally give me good enough results to put me up in the top 1% of rivals on the road-racing circuits. But my cars will never make it near the top of the lists, and neither will I.
I’d like to sample some tunes from the top tuners, ideally on cars I race, to get an idea of how far off the pace I am and see how I can improve. Can you suggest a few names?
Depends on the car. Think in the rivals thread were suggeestions for good tuners.
I usually start with nalaks (had a numer in his gt think it was 24) tunes if I don’t feel like making my own.
Sepi Sp4’s are often good, but the ones I tried were a lot better when driving manual.
Rocklxd is also often recommended.
Oh, and K1Z Bard is usually a good option.
Edit: nope it was Nalak28, me and remembering gamertags,…
Top 1% means nothing because it is usually thousands of places in a leaderboard that 95% of times are flagged runs that happened in races and never meant to be on rivals. Sometimes even a top 200 place in rivals is not that good.
I would say reading through the rivals thread is an excellent place to start. You will see a lot of tuners names pop up again and may even find specific tuners have better tunes depending on the course. Rivals has a lot of top notch drivers participating (not including myself in that group ) so even with the same tune their times are unobtainable by someone such as myself…
That being said, sometimes the most competitive tunes when it comes to setting great times are (IMHO) a miserable driving experience. They require so much concentration and throttle control that they take the fun out of it for me
I’ve used both tuners that were dissed. Some like all tunes better than others. But reliable, average guy tunes that get job done and don’t look weird are what many need.
I use others mostly, but I don’t get the vitriol. Then again, this board and Reddit run on vitriol.
I dont see the world as Who is best… or who may have many… the tunes can be from lots of driving types. i made like 155 and like 100 livery… what think it may inprove is the use of other design or images to make other desings. like if i want cross different snake skins to make a pattern, that cant be shared. and is kind of sad like it can be the money earned split into owners, i have like 200 designs that cant be shared are quite cool.
Enjoy the races… call me old (im 40 Y)… but just drive dont think as who or whome are the best… and as to learn tuning i learned from youtube and some pages
I wouldn’t call being honest about them vitriolic, even someone as hopeless at tuning as me has come up with something that worked in seasonals for other people in the past, but I would be delusional if I ever thought that means it was an objectively good tune.
I mean it was nice to see it working for people but I shared it purely for DL’s/likes/uses for the tune accolades, I didn’t even test the thing beforehand.
The PTG club has good tunes too. I have a Lotus 3-eleven with one of their tunes and it’s really good. One of the best ones I’ve downloaded. I don’t do that much though, but still
Not really! Most of PTG tunes I saw are uncompetitive handling builds. They are similar case like DJS. Not as bad as ugrundy but not actually good tunes.
Can you tell where you can improve by trying other people’s tunes? For upgrades, if you haven’t bought anything for a car, you can tell what was used by resetting to default and then seeing what upgrades you’ve purchased, but is there a way to check someone’s tune settings? Or just keep tweaking things by trial and error until your changes feel the same as someone else’s?
