Wheel compatibility with FM6

As a wheel user, and I’m sure I’m not the only one, I sincerely hope T10 bothers to offer some more options. It is so frustrating not being able to look left and right when using the wheel - being able to map the buttons would sort this.

Its not up to T10 at the end of the day though…

Surely it is up to T10 to give me the ability to map buttons. I can map the clutch on controller. I have loads of option on BF4.

I understand something’s regarding the wheel T10 have nothing to do with (auto-clutch for example) but surely it’s up to the game makers rather than peripheral makers with regards to mapping?

So you want to know where people are now that the distance meter is removed? Who wants that?!

I thought everyone was just supposed to crash into each other all the time.

That’s the rule of thumb online lol.

We were oval racing last night, and it is so frustrating knowing someone is somewhere on your left, but you don’t know if they’re 1 inch or 10 foot away. It’s the worst thing about using the wheel

I think they removed looking in FM4 didn’t they?

I never used it, I always glanced at the distance meter and knew that if someone was at 5 feet I’d hit them but if they were 15-20 I would not. Be nice to have one or the other…or both.

ill just have to make sure I’m 15ft in front of you in future then lol.

But yes its a bit retarded not having a distance meter or able to look around with the wheel, the head tracking is shocking too so thats not a solution either. really hope they bring both for FM6

That was Forza 5 were talking about Forza 6…T10 are going to be on the ball this time around

Yes this!!! The tx 458 has a few redundant buttons but no way to look around, would be amazing if some of those buttons such as the ones behind the wheel could be mapped to look left and right

Buying steering wheels is expensive, on FM4 the official wheel was Fanatec, which now you can’t use on Xbox One because the official one now is Thrustmaster, BUT NOW Fanatec says that they came to an agreement with Turn 10/Microsoft and you will be able to use their latest steering wheel (which costs around $500 USD with no pedals or shifter). So, because of the decision of someone making my old steering wheels no longer compatible I’ve been forced to plan buying a new one, and because I’m not in the position of spending $500 + each time a new game comes out I really want to buy one that will give me the most out of my money. Dear Turn 10, which steering wheel will be the official one for FM6 and hopefully future installments of the series?

Thank you!!!

You do know can look left and right now with wheel layout 2 and 4[/h]. You have to have a shifter to fully use layout 2. Layout 2 uses the paddles to look left and right and the Y button to look back…Layout 4 you do not need a shifter because the look left and right are the X and B button and the Y again is the look behind button. So before you go and state a false “fact” you should do a little research. I just wanted to point this fact out.

I did a little research. You cannot use either of these layouts if you use auto-clutch on the wheel, as it maps clutch away from the "A" button. So, whilst you are able to look left, and loom right, you crunch your gearbox and destroy the engine. So I'll re-affirm my desire that T10 builds into Forza the ability to map the buttons on my controller/wheel, like many other games allow. It is therefore still a fact that I cannot look left and right when using the wheel, as this damages the car. I just wanted to point this fact out.

Lets be serious, no more of this messing all you need is one of these controller FTW!!

To be honest though as far as seeing who is around you i just want split times back i still can’t comprehend why it isn’t in FM5.

it could be worse. i dont know how many times i hit something that wasn’t there only to see one of those go carts to short to see spinning behind me before they removed them from r class. they could out brake you and get inside you before you ever seen them coming so you though you were clear to take any line. not even mappable buttons would have fixed that, sure didn’t on my controller. and the viper was heavy enough it just turned the go carts into speed bumps, but the people useing them would still try to sneak into you blind spot. the only prevention would have been chase view, and i dont have as good of control in chase view so i probably would have hit them anyway.

with windows 10 coming to xbox maybe controller set ups will get extra attention. maybe cortana will be able to warn you about stuff in your blind spots. i dunno, just guessing.

While we are talking about wheels, why not have full 900 degree support? Turn 10 said they only support FF up to 360 degrees if I am not mistaken. The TX 458 wheel is sponsored by microsoft and was designed to be used with Forza, and yet we can only use 360 degrees with proper force feedback as opposed to 900? Doesn’t that sound a bit insane?

Turn 10 doesn´t care about wheel compatibility. In fact, they stated that they only put it there to say its available (not in a direct way of course).
Also, lets not forget the “its not our problem” answer to the F(whose name shall not be said) problem.

How many times do I have to tell you that you could never be more wrong here yet you keep on and on and on.
