FEATURES

New Track: Mount Panorama Circuit

Bathurst is renowned for its competitive racing scene in the land down under. The 3.8-mile (6.2km) circuit sees drivers battle it out across Mount Panorama in New South Wales, Australia. Made up entirely of public roads, Bathurst is essentially a street circuit with a 570-foot (174-meter) elevation change, off-camber corners, and narrow racing surface.

With spectacular views ahead of each technical twist and turn, Bathurst has hosted V8 Supercars for over 80 years – with the exhilarating Conrod Straight allowing them to reach speeds of almost 200mph! As one of the most demanding yet rewarding racetracks in the entire world, the Mount Panorama Circuit is both feared and respected, especially by the drivers who have raced there.

Master this world-famous track while behind the wheel of beloved Aussie cars in the Australian Tour, Forza AUS Series, and Featured Rivals.

RTGI for PC

A new graphics option for our PC players has been added to Forza Motorsport’s ray tracing settings to enable Ray Traced Global Illumination in game (RTGI). RTGI uses ray tracing hardware to compute more accurate indirect lighting and occlusion across the track and car in real time. This results in enhanced visual fidelity and realism in the game. When enabled, RTGI will apply to all gameplay and cinematics, as well as your Homespace and Photo Mode.

RTGI is a new setting that must be enabled and is not on by default. Turn on RTGI and scale its rendering quality in the Forza Motorsport Graphics menu using the following toggles:

Car Upgrades in Featured Multiplayer

  • Custom Upgrade and Quick Upgrade functionality are now accessible from within Featured Multiplayer events for Series that allow it, including all Open Class Series, Cycled Class Series, and the Multi-Class Series.
  • This makes it easier than ever to tweak your current build without needing to leave the event or experiment with a new setup before the race starts. Additionally, this improves visibility for any PI Limits that may be in place for the current event.

Faster Transitions in Spectate & Replay

  • Transitional black loading screens when switching camera types and cars on focus in both Spectate and Replay have been replaced by quick fades wherever possible, closer to the blink of an eye. [1874035]
  • Loading screens will only appear when changing streaming zones, such as jumping from one end of a long track to another. For PC players, this experience may vary based on system specs.

Safety Rating Updates

  • We have adjusted the impact of recent races on your Safety Rating to reduce severe rating fluctuations and to more accurately reflect your overall race history.
  • We have also increased the number of races used to calculate your rating. Previously, we increased the number of races from 10 to 20 and saw positive results. In this update, this number is further increasing from 20 to 50.

Forza Race Regulations (FRR)

Update 15 introduces a new model for Forza Race Regulations (FRR). This version brings a slight reduction to false positive penalty assignments, takes tire wear into account when computing time gained for off-track penalties, and fixes an issue where the player could be disqualified by going off track prior to crossing the Start/Finish line.

Car Audio

Today’s update also includes enhanced car audio for the following vehicles:

  • 1991 BMW M3
  • 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta
  • 2013 Ferrari La Ferrari
  • 2015 Ferrari F12 TDF
  • 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast
  • 2015 McLaren P1 GTR

For additional information on how we’re updating the car sounds of Forza Motorsport, check out this blog, adapted from a presentation and AMA (“ask me anything”) hosted in the Forza Official Discord with the Turn 10 audio team.

OTHER GAME CHANGES

Below is a snapshot of improvements included along with fixes in Update 15. Head to Forza Support to view the full release notes:

  • Transitional black loading screens when switching camera types and cars on focus in both Spectate and Replay have been replaced by quick fades wherever possible, closer to the blink of an eye. Loading screens will only appear when changing streaming zones, such as jumping from one end of a long track to another. For PC players, this experience may vary based on system specs.
  • Updated Forza GT Division cars in Showroom to reflect their Divisions in Featured Multiplayer (Forza GT2, Forza GT3, Forza GT4, Forza AUS, and Forza T/A).
  • Fixed an issue where the 2022 Pagani Huayra R was listed in the Modern Hypercars division instead of the Modern Factory Racecars division.
  • Rolling Starts have been adding to the following series in Featured Multiplayer: Forza GT2 Series, Forza GT3 Series, Early LMP Series, Forza P1 Series, Forza Proto-H Series, Formula Mazda Spec Series, and Endurance Series (excluding Forza AUS events).
  • PC: Improvements have been made to better balance the rendering work across more cores when possible, resulting in better Render CPU FPS on entry to mid-tier CPUs and possibly better GPU FPS depending on the system.
  • Spectate: Players readying for Spectate will now show a checkmark instead of the spectating icon in the pre-race lobby.
  • Private Multiplayer:
    • Added a “host driving” and “host spectating” icon so players can always identify who is the host in Private Multiplayer events.
    • Players are now brought back to Mobile HQ from the pit cinematic if the host changes event settings while they are entering Practice or Qualifying.
    • The driver’s list column names in Private Multiplayer now matches the event setup in Drift mode.
  • Photo Mode
    • Fixed a bug where the Photo Mode camera could break beyond defined boundaries in the Homespace and be navigated around the car bay area.
      • Developers Note: We recognize that this was a popular capability for some photographers in our community, however it was the result of a bug that we needed to fix as leaving it in the game would create problems in future updates. With that said, we are keen to understand how much interest you have in this functionality being developed into a feature and officially implemented into the game. We have set up this thread on the Suggestions Hub where you can upvote the idea and share your thoughts and experiences with us. Thank you for your understanding as we worked through this one!

Hello @T10ManteoMax . Where are the creative hub, and permanent additions to the builders cup?
Are they coming for 2025?

"We also recognize that many of you would like the opportunity to revisit previous Featured Tours and unlock their associated reward cars. Later this year, we will add select series and rewards from previous updates as permanent additions to the Builders Cup. "
“Later in the year, we will overhaul the Media tab in Forza Motorsport into a Creative Hub, similar to the one available in Forza Horizon 5.”
I didn’t see any relevant information in the release notes. What happened?

Wow!
Another month without playing Forza !! Keep up with the good work.

Am I reading it right that the Forza AUS playlist in Featured Multiplayer runs exclusively on Bathurst all month?

Also, are the non-Endurance Forza AUS series Medium race length?

So still not going to be able to download any tunes then. Sigh.

Looking forward to seeing how much things have improved on PC though.

honestly i thought this update was the weakest in a long time. specifically, the cars they decided to bring in all but one was returning to the game. Ill go play FM7 to drive all those cars. Thats not why i bought the new one. TBH id rather have them do this, have the updates that bring improvements to the game and returning cars from both FM series and FH. but sell us a 5 car pack every month that are full of new to FM cars hell take the new cars from FH4 and FH5. Just a thought

Any news about the creative hub. That was supposed to come this update.

Creative Hub and Share Codes

Later in the year, we will overhaul the Media tab in Forza Motorsport into a Creative Hub, similar to the one available in Forza Horizon 5.

@T10ManteoMax , please answer.
Thank you.

This is precisely why many publishers don’t reveal/confirm details until very close to release (like today’s patch contents).

Things can slip (which is fine, game development is just like that) but without some sort of disclaimer that all dates are subject to change, an expectation has been set. Also, it’s not clear if Turn 10 meant calendar year or fiscal year.

I don’t mind waiting a bit longer for it, so long as they’re doing it right.

The only highlights in this update for me is Bathurst coming back, Forza GT getting proper divisions and a few car sound updates. Everything else is weak especially the car selections. Nothing really new at all, all of these were in a Forza before whether it was a Horizon or a previous FM. No current gen v8 supercars, or early 90s Grp.A racers in this update stings badly.

At least maybe a message to the community about why they’re delayed?

That would be nice. It’s probably something along the lines of the code/UI work taking longer than initially estimated, which forced the release to be pushed back to a later update.

I’m waiting for the next message to the community blog post.

And the permanent additions to the builders cup?

Probably the same. You can apply my theorised reasoning to anything in game development that gets delayed, as that’s often the number one reason something that has started hasn’t been finished on time. The number two reason is often “significant bugs with the feature were found during the testing phase, which necessitated additional code work to ensure the feature is ready for release”.
