Bathurst is a great addition to the track roster, satisfyingly challenging and magnificently looking. Only incorrect elevation changes between turns 8 and 10 bother me.
Added cars are less thrilling (just one #NewToForza model is not enough), although I’m happy to get back majority of missing Aussie machinery from FM7. These are among the most unique cars featured in Forza series (have you seen any Holdens in Gran Turismo 7?), and I love how they drive and how they sound. So much in fact that I’m going to complete all the races in the featured tour in the career mode even if the reward car is exceptionally undesirable this time (And I still can’t accept losing three out of four cinematic intros for each tour)
As for other changes:
Great job with splitting the Forza GT division between more appropriate categories. Now that’s a proper simracing stuff
RTGI made the game look slightly more natural but the difference is not as big as screenshots suggested.
Improvements to AI and FRR are barely noticeable (if at all).
I’m happy with optimization work on PC, I can finally watch most replays in stable 60 fps (albeit performance there is still surprisingly shoddy when compared to the gameplay itself).
Pretty much enjoyed the content, just wish you put the latest generation of V8 Supercars in the game, but maybe/hopefully that’s for a future update.
1991 Holden HSV Commodore Group A SV is an absolute banger!
Hopefully you can catch up with the promises in update 17, and the AI and Penalties still need major improvements.
As I said in another topic next time get an Aussie to help with car selection because you don’t get the cars we love or why we love them.
You added the XA GTHO instead of the XY GTHO. The only thing the XA has going for it is rarity and that’s not a good enough reason to have it over the XY. The XA has zero race history. The XY is the GOAT of Australian muscle cars and won Bathurst in 1971. No Aussie would pick the XA over the XY.
We got 2 Maloo utes. Why? What a waste of a spot that could’ve been used for a 100% new to Forza car like the LJ Torana GTR XU-1 or the XC Falcon Cobra. So many other cars that could’ve been used yet you give us a double.
The most disappointing thing is that this will probably be the only time we get Aussie cars added to the game.
And it’s not like they haven’t had the XY in previous FM iterations either.
The two Maloos are ok though because one of them is a drift car so substantially different to drive. Wouldn’t mind seeing a VG though to go with the VN Group A (even though I’m more a Ford than a Holden guy)
I love Bathurst and I like V8 Supercars, but the most important things in this update weren’t about content. We need more QoL features/fixes in future updates. They might seem minor but they impact the game in a big way.
Update 15 was overall a good update.
I would have loved to see the 2023 Porsche 911 GT3R with that update added to the game. Since it was released to Forza Horizon and also won the 12hrs of Bathurst in 2024 it just would have fitted perfectly.
I know it’s just one single car and there are a lot of things that may have a higher priority, but it is an awesome car I am very excited to have in Motorsport one day!
It started out somewhat decently with the Supercars.
By the middle of the second series, though, I was breaking my own established rules and procedures just to finish the things. These cars handled so horridly and drove so slow that it’s a wonder they ever got to have a Supercar championship at all.
Bathurst is really fun to race on. Love the track.
The new cars are ok.
Separating the Foza GT into proper divisions is much appreciated.
Drivatars are still bad.
Still waiting for more Freeplay content.
The new track and cars are welcome. I have only passing interest in most of this content, but if I spend more time exploring it, that could change.
I wish the Featured Tours were not being removed, as always, every month. As it is, I will not get a chance to spend more time with these elements… Just because they are needlessly being removed from my game. Same with access to the reward cars.
The new track looks pretty good, and gives a good drive experience. Bathurst, like Sebring, are not favorites for me, personally. But I welcome them gladly.
I tried to run the Featured Tour, but on the first race of the first Tour, the AI were absolutely terrible. I had them crashing into one another, running off-track, and spinning me out. I restarted 2 or 3 times, giving it a fresh chance.
After the 3rd attempt also was ruined by AI… I quit playing the Tour. And never got around to trying them again. Some of the tours may have been fun, but I just didn’t have the will.
Unfortunately, this all resulted in me having a low engagement with the Update 15 content.
The adjustments to safety rating seem over cooked. I’m still at A after quite a few races whereas before I’d be back at S within a couple.
I am a S safety rated driver without doubt.
That’s not to say I don’t get penalties it’s just I don’t think the vast majority are my fault even after checking replays. So in actuality it’s probably the collision detection system that needs work.
In my opinion they slapped a bandaid over the feature to try and dull the effect collision detection had and thereby reduce the number of complaints about fluctuating safety ratings. All it has done is make that rating feel even more useless than it already was.
The Forza AUS lobby was quite good, I liked that it was on a single track as you could build up skill and experience and strategic knowledge over the course of multiple races.
The cars were well balanced and there were multiple viable tyre strategies (no-stop Hard, or 1-stop Soft Soft).
I’d be in favour of more single track (with single division) series in future if there’s relevant theming and good car/strategic balance. It’s something Gran Turismo 7 does well with its multiplayer.
