Going to start with the same criticism as always: stop disappearing the featured tours. Cylinder-based series is a great and fun idea. You really can’t afford to take great and fun ideas out of your game.

Obviously the big thing is the change to the upgrade system. On one hand, it’s a good thing. It was bad, and now it’s functionally gone. On the other hand, much like the first quick fix that shuffled parts and lower the level requirements, it’s clear it hasn’t been thought very well.

I’ve dedicated a topic on it, so without rehashing it too much, the economy was balanced with the idea you wouldn’t pay for upgrade. Now you can definitely pay for upgrades, but the payouts haven’t changed and I’m feeling it.

I’m just here trying to do the same thing I’ve tried to do since the game came out: trying to have fun despite the game resisting with everything it has. It used to be CP getting in the way, pretty soon it’ll be credit.

So it was poorly thought out. Or perhaps it’s deliberate, to punish those impudents who dare not use the CP system. Either way, it’s a problem. The easiest fix would be to up the CP-to-CR ratio, or just give me infinite credits. I swear I won’t use them for evil.

On another note, the lack of a track is a little disappointing. Most of the spotlight cars being already in the game is also disappointing. Meanwhile I look at Horizon getting new cars up the wazoo.

Considering update 6 isn’t the update that fixed my framerate, and doesn’t contain any improvement I can really measure, it really feels like Motorsport is the ugly stepchild of this Forza family.

My thoughts after Update 6:

  • The changed car progression system is obviously better, as I no longer need to do a couple of races just to remove wing from a car or tune the differential… but I can’t shake the feeling that something was lost in the process, some part of game’s purpose. I hope T10 is working on something else we could unlock when leveling cars up. I might even have a suggestion for that…
  • AI is so much better after Update 6. I can now start most races from the back of the pack in full stock cars and focus on clean racing, with no fear that opponents at the front are going to disappear from my minimap before the first lap is over. Also the risk of being involved in some massive crash at turn 1 is much smaller now. However, AI still needs to learn how to overtake and not to break heavily at fast corners all of a sudden (I’m looking forward to Update 8 in that matter).
  • I’m not impressed with set of free cars added with Update 6. Recycling content itself is not that bad but there are so many more essential models to bring back from FM7 than 599XX (too similar to 599XX Evo) or Huracan LP610-4 (it’s already the sixth variant of Huracan in the game)…
  • Car Pass, on the other hand, added some amazing vehicles. Nissan Silvia Super Silhouette is now one of my favourite cars in the entire game (and I’m so upset that I can’t use it in the new Retro Racers tour), V8 in the Lexus RC F GT3 sounds good enough, while Lotus 98T is a beast, with turbolag just as terrifying as I expected it to be
  • I still very much enjoy watching introductory cutscenes before events in featured tours in the career mode, and I still wish they stayed in the game for good (both cutscenes and events)
  • Additional music was a nice surprise too. There is some brilliant score there, creating great atmosphere in the homespace (reminiscent of that in FM6 which was probably the best in the entire series IMO). If only entering a race and going back to menu wasn’t required to play the next track… ;]
  • I’m also happy with lighting options added to the Livery Editor. This feature is so useful that I’d even suggest Playground Games to “borrow” it for Forza Horizon

To sum things up, I think Update 6 was a major step forward for the game, even if it didn’t introduce any new track. I hope that Update 8, which also won’t contain new environment, will be just as groundbreaking as this one.

  • Please keep the Featured Tours or at least add additional permanent Tours to the Builders Cup.
  • Add a radar (The arrows are still not good enough even after Update 7).
  • And make it possible to choose the race length.

Overall the Progression change was a major W for this game, it’s nice to have options to tune cars openly or follow the restrictions if we want.

On the flip side, Turn 10 you NEED to QUIT TAKING CONTENT AWAY from this game when you add it!! For the love of everything Forza, the barren wasteland that is the “ever expanding and evolving career” needs more permanent content! Give single player people some love!! That’s the only way you keep this thing even remotely alive.

@AtomiqueMclaren agreed with everything stated.

@AdmPatate I can’t see what your issue is with the CP vs Credits upgrading systems. You still have full abilities to utilize the grind of the CP upgrading system. They didn’t change that at all. As for upgrading with credits, there’s no big problem there either. The cars are not going to wipe out your credits and if you buy, upgrade, and race. You will replenish your credits. It’s all just a different kind of gring. Just like any other game. Just this way, at least we get to pick and choose our grind rather than a forced grind.

Grind on - Dude!

If I could see one thing change with Featured multiplayer, It would be some variety in the Open class track rotation.
The lower classes (E-C) need some longer tracks, The current rotation has pretty much been the same every month since release, just adding a couple of the new tracks into the rotation.
I would love to see a complete set of different tracks in the rotation each update.

The poll, like every “official” poll, is to slanted to yield any good data.

The game has gotten better. It is running at about 15 to 20 percent good currently… it’s so lacking in content, there’s no career mode. Two race series run for a month. And they both take the better part of an hour to complete.

There’s no drag racing or drifting events to extend player engagement. No extraneous events. No endurance events.

FOMO for two 30 minute events once a month isn’t going to build player engagement. Well, actually it does seem to be building player engagement - in GT7.:rofl::rofl:

Grind on - Dude!

For someone not seeing my issue, you’re talking about it a lot.

Honestly, “grind on” feels like an insult to me. Grinding is bad, always, no exception, no argument. I don’t want a game to tell me “you know that thing you want to do, sorry, you’re gonna have to grind for 12 hours before I allow you to do it”.

A “choice” between the CP grind or the CR grind isn’t a choice. I don’t want to choose between the flu and the corona. I want none of the above. I want to opt out.

You say I’ll replenish my credits. I don’t know what assumptions you’re making, but they’re wrong. The maths isn’t there. I spent 1.5M in cars and upgrades, and I won’t make back even half of it. I paid for this game. I shouldn’t be limited in my ability to have fun by a made up number that serves no purpose.

No poll of bugs and lack of features?

the mucle cars are horrible upgraded with tyres and tyre width & race suspension the stock tyres & race suspension high ride feels floaty using with the mucle cars using controller. certain other cars resist turning for example the 1992 HONDA NSX-R with very wide front & Rear tyre width using controller tuning doesn’t do anything try this for yourself you will understand Better what I’m saying please fix!

Car pass cars had no use for me, carpg credit change did not change my way to play (I’m only interested about SP career)

All other was just same old… update did not fix game biggest bug, it just gets very boring, very fast, engagement is lagging, FOMO is not the way to engage.

I completely Agree well said!

Interesting, 30 minutes (or nearly so) is usually the time I need to complete one race in career mode. Maybe I should start skipping the practice…

yes i feel the same way they need to rebalance the economy I’m not a big fan of to much grinding or gaining credits to fast it has to be just what goldilocks once said it has to be just right

it never hurts to practice if your a bit out of shape & tuning your car before the race

Yup, but I’m also using practice as semi-qualification, to compare my lap time with AI and estimate how far in the back I can start the race with my full stock car and still have chance for podium (at given race distance). The longer I play the more I like that whole Challenge the Grid thing

I don’t really bother with that I like a challenge not knowing i do 7 or 8 AI depending on the car its like playing expert with hyper speed 5 on GH referring to the AI Difficulty for context incase no one believes me because its the internet i can share a screenshot & record it & send it to you in message on Xbox my gt is the same on here I’m aware of the risks reporting & blocking exist for a reason
