I’ve once posted a suggestion for implementing car descriptions in the game. This one is similar but this time I wanted to suggest combining descriptions with the new car mastery system.
How about unlocking not only upgrades for car you drive but also trivia about it? We could gradually get more information, starting with basics and ending with car’s history, full technical data, maybe even some archival pictures or other footage.
I know it’d be a lot of work but if T10’s goal is to make us “fall in love with cars”, then I think something like this could help (just as it helps Gran Turismo) and give us better incentive to play. Heck, I know I wouldn’t stop playing until I “maxed out” all cars in the game and learned everything I can about them
I absolutely love this idea!
As a person that likes his trivia, this would definitely give (me) a lot of satisfaction and incentive to level the cars. (More so than being forced to level to unlock parts). And it really adds to the falling in love with cars!

They could add it to the “unlock” popup that appears at the end of the race. This includes the option to skip to the end, so people who don’t want to read it can just ignore it. I think this would be the perfect way to integrate it, so as not to irritate those who are not interested?
Maybe start with just a 3 line standardised summary e.g. “designed by Pininfarina and sold between 1973 and 1978” and then unlock more as you level up.
They could also maybe add the brief summary to Forzavista when you unlock it, to encourage you to reuse that as well.
As for the time investment, getting the actual data for each car - in 10 hours you could easily get data for 500 cars using search engines, even quicker if you have a programme to do it automatically which could then be rerun for each new car added. There’s a myriad of ways this could be done very quickly. Sorting the data would probably need more time as this involves manual selection of the “juicy bits”.
Clearly, getting it integrated into the game would take longer.
We’re not asking for the whole “museum” level of info found in another similar game, but if the ethos of the game is for us to get to love our cars, it would be nice to know more than “P.911 GT3 RS” for example.

Pretty much what was happening in Forza Motorsport 4.
