To be honest all I want is for the cars to sound legit along with upgrade sounds such as exhaust.
The ability to switch off hands and wheel in cockpit view and ability to adjust in car seat.
The initial cockpit view is really good but would be better if I could remove wheels and hands.
The switch to cycled open classes meant there were times where I logged on to run multiplayer, but there was nothing in the lower classes. It was a big cooler on my enthusiasm with the game.
I currently run a online racing group with about 300+ members we started back in Motorsport 7 and have moved across to the new game. As a whole our group is loving the game. There are some things we would love to be changed/added.
1.spectating qualifying laps/practice laps in the new private multiplayer.
More Australian race cars like in previous games. (Older supercar variants)
Would love to see a way that we could run our group through Forza or allow us to implement a 3rd party software to do points, statistics. (Like in other games assetto or iRacing)
better car balancing. Some motors are way stronger then others example Subaru and Evo or the Camaro ZL1 and mustang.
Please continue fixing issues on PC. The livery editor takes way to long to put on stickers and half the time it picks the wrong sticker.
That Turn 10 added a fantasy track from the old school Forza games. More old school fantasy tracks please!
What I did not like as much:
That the track we got was (IMHO) one of the more boring options available. You have unused tracks like Amalfi Coast, Fujimi Kaido, Camino Viejo, and Bernese Alps waiting on the bench, but Sunset Peninsula is the one that was chosen to come back first? It’s still a good track, but it feels like a missed opportunity.
Sunset Peninsula is a welcome and unexpected addition. Hopefully means more “remastered” historic Forza tracks are in the pipeline (Camino Viejo’s 10+ layouts would be lovely)
Practice and Qualifying is a big plus to Private Multiplayer. More work to be done before it’s “feature complete” but keep going. Maybe one day Custom Lobbies will be publicly listed?
FRR improvements are always welcome.
Mazda MX-5 Cup and Formula Mazda are both excellent Featured Multiplayer series, good that they’re Medium race length too. MX-5 Cup should replace the Honda Civic TCR as the Qualifier Series.
Tyre wear at 4.0x is fine. I made more detailed comments in the relevant thread yesterday as there’s a wider issue at play.
Featured Multiplayer player counts seem a tad low. I know Chris Esaki recently said they’re targeting averages of 10-12 people per lobby. I think targeting 16-20 would be better as sometimes lobbies feel deserted, especially after people quit early.
It would be nice to have the race lengths for Featured Multiplayer specified multiple weeks in advance, or on a consistently predictable pattern. It’s not always clear when a Spec/Featured series is going to be Short/Medium/Long until you check in real-time on Thursday. Makes it hard to plan ahead when organising events or meetups with friends due to varying preferences.
The time gap between Short races is still too short. I have reported this in a separate thread.
Not being able to filter tuning search results by “Spec Series legality” is a bit of a pain
Not having the “Spec Series balancing” in Free Play and Private Multiplayer is especially annoying.
None of the Challenge Hub rewards interested me this month.
I don’t play Career or Featured Rivals, and have no personal interest in drifting so didn’t engage with any of the content related to those. No issue, we all have our playstyle preferences.
Currently running an online series that was on forza motorsport 7 and have moved over to the new motorsport.
The physics are the best in any other forza game and the cars feel unique on almost any track. Im glad we made the move over to the new motorsport.
There are a few things that either make it hard to run a series or that just annoy me about the game.
1: No option to set race grid to finishing position not fastest lap, or manually set up the starting grid. If we have a disconnect during qualli or we want to start an enduro with the leaderboard postions we cant anymore, this was a feature in motorsport 7
2: i know your adding tracks but motorsport has one of the lowest track counts in all of forza. And so many good tracks in the old games have been left out like Rally di Positano full 7 mile track, mount fujimi, Bathurst, Tsukuba, Sedona Ladera, and the sidewinder from Motorsport 3 arguably some of the best tracks for a has ever had. And the point to point races are all gone, there were some of my favourites in earlier games.
3: might be a bug that you are not aware of but we had a rain race where half the feald couldn’t see the rain so we had to keep asking the other racers if it was still raining or if we could change tyres yet.
This game is great, the fact weather can be effected on every tracks now is one of my favourite chances to other forza games, the tyres wear “as much as I suck at having good tyre strategies” is a much wanted add to the game and has definitely put it up there as one of the best racing games around.
Hey man if you look us up on Facebook lockdown cup.
We race mainly Wednesday nights Sydney time I believe qualifying/practice starts at 7 with daylight savings.
Currently halfway through our series can join in though no hassle but currently are sitting at about 20 people a lobby.
Cup cars series should be added and be permanent.
Mazda mx5cup, Renault clio cup maybe, Porsche cup cars.
This should be add to multiplayer spec series and rotate weekly.
Also daily spec races could be fun too specially if you put divisions based lobbies for example modern hot hatch or retro muscle BUT with very balanced PRs.
Adding monthly leagues can be very nice too. It will enhance player ratings importance and with more strict matchmaking and high value prizes, the racing experience could be awesome.
Same as always, stop disappearing career tours, stop disappearing rewards.
I ended up liking Sunset Peninsula a lot more than I thought. I usually don’t like flat, infield tracks. But this one, it just has a bunch of fun corner and it works for me. It kinda slaps. You guys should consider making up more tracks if this whole hunting-down-licences business doesn’t work.
What I didn’t like is that the featured tour and open tour are still time limited.
Drift is a disappointment. It’s effectively FM7, minus the drift upgrades, minus most the drift cars. It leaves a distinct taste in my mouth, the taste of something that has been slapped together and rushed out in a scramble to pad up the one-year anniversary update. Frankly, I would have preferred nothing and a proper, thought-out drift update later.
Another thing I’m disappointed about is how rewards and career tours are on a timer.
The challenge hub still doesn’t really offer anything interested. Specifically, the challenge requiring 25 clean laps on one specific layout is textbook inane busywork. And I’m not saying I really have ideas how to make the challenges in the challenge hub interesting, but I know it’s not that.
And then the challenge hub doesn’t even allow to unlock previous reward cars.
I’ve been enjoying the new cars overall. I feel it misses a Mach 1 Mustang or a Mustang II in there, but I don’t want to complain too much there. I’m hoping we’ll see more updates like this, either centered on an iconic model family, or on divisions that really need some love.
And did I tell you about the disappearing tours and rewards?
Tbh the only negative complaint about update 13 was that they should have added Fujimi kaido the most beloved drift map in forza history which have 1700 up votes so instead of sunset peninsula which only had 270 votes . Don’t get me wrong I like sunset a lot too. Just made more sense to bring kujimi… but hey hopefully you guys listen and add that map when public drift lobbies come into the game much love
Not a fan of the daily rotating open class. I believe it was yesterday it was P, which goes along with the week long open R. Having P and R as options is terrible imo, the racing (generally speaking) is just not good.
I very much preferred when there was one class in the upper and one from the lower tier.
Like A/X, B/P, C/R, D/S - it is much more balanced.
I haven’t noticed any improvements in FRR so that’s a hard one to vote on. I continue to get the at no fault penalties, egregious off track penalties when I VERY clearly have lost significant time.
I ran a couple races of drift just to check it out. But it’s lacking any real substance, or organized race events. Formula drift is not just some open track day where you go randomly drift around the track. I really don’t understand why you guys wouldn’t give drift the attention it deserves with door to door battles how it is IRL. Big swing and a miss imho.
Loving the new cars. The models look much better than what has been in game. The under hood detail on some of the mustangs is impressive. The audio does seem improved but still meh… no turbo noise except for the blow off valve for example. And 13 introduced a new audio bug where I hear other players cars in my car, as if it’s playing the exhaust audio from their car inside my cockpit along with my car… it’s very strange.
Haven’t noticed much of the multi car aero deal that was mentioned. I still get thrown off the track when someone is closing in on corner entry. And I see it happen to people in front of me when I close the gap on them.
Overall the update was good but I think drift should have been held onto until it was ready for a substantial update. Like I’ve mentioned before most of the people playing the game now are circuit racers, you’re going to need more than some private lobby drifting to bring new people to the game. Same goes for drag racing if that is still planned.
1967 and 2013 Shelby GT500s were a very pleasant surprise, same with Formula Drift pack - good for the game even if I personally prefer D1GP cars.
Sunset Peninsula gives me hope for the possible return of Fujimi Kaido since legacy fantasy tracks aren’t out of the question now. It’s also a good track on its own.
3rd person drift cam is great, I got used to it so quick at one point I had a brain hiccup thinking I accidentally turned it off or smth because it suddenly felt very natural
Taillights now look much better and it makes a huge difference to overall visual quality.
Hopefully headlight reach/effective distance will be improved as well in the future, this one is more about lights being practical and not just looking good.
FRR, car sound and physics updates, as well as QoL features are always welcome as well!
Waiting for public Drift Meetups in next (please!) update.
Mustang challenge had D and B-class groups and Multi-class lobby had C and B-class groups available. Not to mention MX-5 cup which is also in lower classes.
I help out running a Community racing group based in Australia. For the most part the FM is an improvement on FM7. The physics engine is easily the best across the Forza series. the inclusion of tyre wear and Weather at any track has been excellent.
As a group We’re frustrated by the following:
Lack of existing tracks at launch. The community was presented here with hundreds of tracks to vote on for inclusion yet after 7 years of development You couldn't manage to include all of the FM7 tracks at launch. We expected the new tracks would be added post launch.
A lot of the Community don't bother racing in public lobbies because its a lottery that you won't get taken out first corner by someone with a lower safety rating. The matchmaking needs to be better. Higher safety rating races need to be limited to same level rated players at a minimum.
Australian content. I know Bathurst is coming soon but with so many excellent Aussie tracks we all expected that at launch and then drip fed through updates some of the heavily upvoted tracks like Philip Island, Adelaide Street circuit etc. Current V8 Supercars are sorely missed. Older V8 racing cars stoutly be great.
for a Community group being able to set the grid is hugely important. Like other communities we like to set enduro races based on reverse series leaderboards. This requires us to run a parade lap to set the grid. It was a feature in FM7 that is noticeably lacking in FM.
please create a safety car feature that closes up the field and engages pit lane limiter that is controlled by race admin.
please consider creating a community lobby feature to allow us to run our communities completely within FM.
to help race admins control races, an ability for a race admin to mute all other racers.
the new practice and quali feature is excellent but we need a way for the race admin to control the timer to delay race start.
All in all the devs are doing good but the community feels that a lot of expected and existing features from FM7 was left on the table especially given the time since FM7.
