Mines a q series from 2022. Yes no denying atmos is good, clever how it works with the tv speakers as well. Gotta be honest though it’ never really blew my away like I was expecting / hoping. Thinking I maybe need a pair of satellite speakers to truly appreciate it. Also the content seems to get less and less, and bit like HDR with games
What happens if you connect your Xbox directly to the soundbar and the soundbar to your TV via eARC?
Have you tried out LPCM already how that sounds in games?
Or HDMI in and out are the same port?
There is no picture of the backside of the soundbar, so I can’t tell.
So before I try this can I just check I’ve got it right.
Soundbar-TV Via eARC
Xbox to TV via 2.1 port.
Xbox to soundbar via standard HDMI.
will the latter make a difference as it’s the only connection I’ve not done. Current set up. Sound works on tv and soundbar great. When Atmos is enabled there is a horrible delay will connecting to Xbox via the 2nd HDMI port solve this
Just try it out, it’s not like anything breaks or something. I mean if the game only runs with 60 FPS anyway it won’t make a difference.
Yeah absolutely it’s just soundbar and TV (75’) are mounted to the wall with cables routed through the walls and the Xbox is a fair way from the soundbar so I’d need to buy an extra long HDMI cable. Hence the question.
Oh well then just don’t do it. Try to use LPCM if your soundbar supports it, use LPCM for gaming and DA for movies, series etc.
Wait so you’re saying do both?
Xbox>soundbar>tv>xbox. Like an fx loop for a guitar amp almost?
What’s the advantage here?
One cable goes from Xbox to soundbar and one from soundbar to TV.
If the cable lenght is shorter from Xbox to soundbar that should reduce the audio delay.
Ok what’s the advantage because i have done that, but it makes it so i cant do 4k120hz. It limits me to 4k60hz. Do you think I’ll get a sound quality increase?
It definitely does work though if that’s what you’re wondering .
Maybe it reduces audio delay I don’t know.
Well or you use LPCM. And just stick to how it’s wired.
Oh, you mean with q symphony?
With xbx>tv>sb i get no delay unless i enable q symphony.
Who knows maybe.
I’ll give it a try today. Also how would i try LPCM on my xbox? Don’t recall seeing that acronym anywhere when going through tv/xbox settings.
Technically not playing any games that are 120hz besides maybe starfield on occasion.
It’s PCM.
Well, well, well. I just tried it again after a year or maybe more and it works. No adjustments. The rain and environmental sounds transform it. Prob need to adjust as the wind noise is too loud.
Also I have no or at least minimal delay using qsymphony as an earlier poster had. Did force an update on soundbar that was it.
I really need to update my soundbar but i couldn’t figure out how to do it without PC. Don’t you need to dl firmware update to a USB device and plug it into soundbar?
I always wondered if stock firmware might be holding anything back.
Also are you saying it improved anything?
Hehe I am glad my AVR updates itself while it is in standby whenever there is an update.
Yes Atmos works with minimal delay. It won’t have been the soundbar that was the issue it was the Xbox which would have been updated. Yes soundbar updated over WiFi
How do i connect it to WiFi?
