Now that Dolby tech seems to be fixed on XSX , I think FM looks and sounds better than GT7

Dolby Access update rolled out earlier today that seems to have improved Dolby tech a great bit.

Sure, there’s issues with the models still. The colors and such tho look far better now imho. And now that I can properly hear the results of this sound design, I can hear what they’re going for. Once these are dialed in, there’ll be no contest in the sound dept.

I’m on Xbox series X I don’t see this update

This sounds like a hardware issue with a soundbar or something, not a console issue

Did you buy the dolby access license? Do you have a dolby vision TV or Dolby Atmos HT rig? I’m seeing and hearing a MAJOR difference since yesterday and it all happened after I got the dolby access update today. Look at the picture I linked. Yours look that good? Anyone elses?

Here’s the file info since you doubt so hard >> File_000.png - Google Drive

The Dolby access app has absolutely nothing to do with Dolby Vision & Atmos support on the console (both are handled directly at the system level by the OS) besides enabling & providing the license token for Dolby Atmos for headphones and adding equilizers for Atmos content. It’s literally the same thing as the DTS Sound Unboud app.
You are either hallucinating all those Dolby Vision/Atmos changes or your setup is busted because the app ain’t doing anything and the Xbox Dolby Vision/Atmos support hasn’t been updated in years.
This also has literally nothing to do with Forza Motorsports.

No it isn’t. You literally have to install the app for either one to work. Get out with this trash. Wish I had the option to downvote this misinformation nonsense.

You’ve been spamming this forum with countless Dolby related ramblings littered with nonsense. Time for the mods to do their job.
So long…

Explain to me why every time I’ve setup my series X on my rig that I’ve had to install the Dolby Access app before I can use Dolby Atmos. C’mon hotshot. I’m waiting.

Have a look at this pic right here. If you think the dolby access app doesn’t control dolby tech, try again >> File_000.png - Google Drive

Look. All I can tell is that this looks and sounds better than it did before this app update.

Wow, this Dolby update replaces all of the sound files?

The chase cam isn’t just a bunch of induction bark anymore? It’s not just the cabin noise with reverb?

Amazing job Dolby, going ahead and re-recording all those sound files for T10 :+1:

Ah, so like the sound quality is potentially better than GT7, not the actual recordings.

Sorry, the title begged clarification. :ok_hand:

Sound quality is already better. By quite a bit.

@TheMAK11 It sounds like you have some insight into how this tech works so enlighten me. Have had color issues with dolby vision pretty much since this console launched. App update happens this morning and I check my games afterward. Darker blacks and better colors. In ALL games. Also Dolby atmos has more dynamic range than it did yesterday and just sounds better. The app update is the ONLY thing that happened to my setup today. My TV didn’t get an update. My receiver didn’t get one. So explain to me what happened then. You have clearly worked on this tech so let’s have it.

Also. I didn’t say it was a fact that FM looks and sounds better. I said, and it’s in the post title, I THINK it does.

Every Cars in gt7 sounds like a vacuum cleaner…

I’ve been using Dolby Atmos for years since it’s launch boy and I don’t own a TV with Dolby vision. Two separate things and Dolby access is just an app on Xbox that lets you Control the equalizer for sound on headphones or sound bar. Dolby vision on the other hand is a advanced HDR format of 12bit image instead of 10bit(HDR 10+). Dolby Atmos yes does improve sound quality and surround sounds.

Exactly. FM always sounded better than GT7.

The people who say this, they’re either unfamiliar with the real deal, or they’ve got this idea of old GT’s sounds so ingrained in their minds that they just can’t let go.

We’re no longer in the 2000s and PD has upped its game quite a bit when it comes to sound. Meanwhile, Forza has been on a downward spiral. Today, GT7 generally sounds better than FM and PD usually makes better picks for sounds than T10, putting more emphasis on accuracy than wow factor.

When it comes to the thread itself, image and sound treatment won’t magically turn a game around. FM is poorly made and still looks and sounds bad. If GT7 and F1 already beat FM in the sound department, then ACC absolutely destroys it.

And no, I don’t give a crap if TC owns one of the cars in the game.

I own a PS5 and I own Gt7 and GT7’s car sound, sounds the same as my vacuum cleaner, apply to it a potentiometer and you have the sounds of all GT7 cars, when it comes to the thread itself how is it possible that noone noticed there are settings for the sound inside the app Dolby Access?

False statement.

Some of them are good, some ok but some are terrible. The Supra RZ,full exhaust etc sounds so quiet its like it has cotton wool up its exhaust, same for the Dodge Viper. These are just 2 off the top of my head, they are just too quiet with full pipes on,im not just saying nor reminiscing about old GT games, until November ive spent a lot of time with GT7. Take it how you want. :+1:

I’m using Dolby Access and have a DV TV. No change in sound and video quality. Those will come from T10 themselves I believe not third party app which has nothing to do with the game.

But you hear something is changing when you change settings from the app right? So maybe, I say maybe the OP is right telling with last app update sounds are better for him
