Tune File Limit

Is there any plans to increase the tune file limit as we continue to get more cars? I have hit this limit and it gets rather tedious constantly deleting tunes just add new ones.

Let’s hope there is a plan, but, yeah I doubt it.

I was kind of surprised when I hit the limit a few weeks ago, especially when I never did in FH4. Then I realized FH5 had us doing almost every chore; championships, stunts, etc etc in a different car, every week. Contrast that to almost always using the same handful of cars throughout FH4 for most of the chores (especially the stunts). Hardly any wonder everyone is running out of tune save spaces.

I’m not saying the idea of shaking up the car list was bad, I quite like it, just that someone should have realized and planned that we would need more tune save space because of it. Heh, at least with the return (?) of Stock Trials we won’t need to worry about tunes for that :wink:

I don’t know who thought it’s a good idea to have less save slots than actual cars in game to begin with but they upped the limit for tunes and designs in FH4 at some point and I really hope they do it for 5 soon as I’m also at the limit already.

Do you know how big saves would be with increased limit?

When I downloaded my FH4 save with maxed out tune downloads it took me 15 minutes to do so with 100 Mb/s connection.

i actually wouldn’t mind the increased file size for an expanded tune/livery library. the game as it stands is already over a hundred gigs, and a few more wouldn’t break the bank on most systems.

No, because I don’t know how big the part is that tunes and designs actually make out of the whole savegame.

My FH4 save is about 295 MB on the disk while the FH5 one is about 270 with presumably slightly more tunes and designs than in 4. Even if it would be twice as that I wouldn’t have a problem with it. Loading times presumably will get a bit longer here and there but I’m willing to “exchange” that for more slots.

I’ve seen a few threads on this issue, I just looked up the “known issues” on the official Forza support page and found this under the “Saves” section.

  • Saves - Some players are getting a “Too Many Saves” error message when interacting with liveries and tunes. (Date Added:02.25.22)

So it looks like they’re aware of it, they’re just not prioritising fixing it. We know that Forza devs don’t actively respond to these forum posts so my recommendation is every single person that encounters this issue should raise a support ticket to apply pressure. I know it seems pointless given we’ll all get the same response of “it’s on our known issues list and in the meantime all we can recommend is deleting files” but I think it’s our own viable way of voicing frustration.

Open to other ideas too?
