It’s like nobody understands how the Trial or Playground Games even work. If I’m in PG my own teammates run away from me when I try to get healed during infection and if you try and pass the crown because you’ve slowed down they purposely avoid you. It’s nuts. Don’t bother playing if you’re going to fight against your own team.
Can a dev please tell me how this is fun or fair, you can podium all the races and still lose the event because of others, do any devs have a suggestion for us struggling besides to keep playing and good luck
Stuff like the kills the game for me, make me not enjoy forza when I have a limited time to play and then have to spend it grinding an event like this
I was in one of those with you, the first race I got absolutely pole-axed off the start by the drivatars and had to spend the rest of the race playing catch-up just to finish in the first place.
Edinburgh Station is one of my favourite tracks though, so good to see it rather than bloody Hollyrood for a change (which always seems to make an appearance in Trials).
Yes i have noticed that as well. Annoying as hell i’d have to say. I come up beside the drivatar to overtake then BAM!!! all of a sudden i’m thrown off to the side without even touching the drivatar.

Happens numerous times, well over a car width away from drivatar and I’m magically bumped off track.
Yep i remember seeing your gamertag
Are you sure it wasnt one of our “team mates” that smashed you since the drivatars always start ahead in the first race
I found the drivatars only ram you once someone else rams them
Just the luck of the draw and how bad your team mates are lol
I’m sorry guys.
Apparently I am one of the people you complain about. This was my first ever trial and while I hope it is lack of practice and I will get better at it, I sucked at the it.
To be honest I thought I’d do a lot better, but I quickly found out that the bashing and smashing was too much for me.
I was torn between not wanting to be a liability and really wanting the reward car. So I stayed.
Even though I tried, I lost more points for my team than I gained. Now I agree, the kind thing to do was to leave. However as on race two the other bad driver left I thought ‘we’ had a chance, which ‘we’ did.
And again… I wanted the reward car.
Thanks by the way to the people who pulled me through
Having these amazing rewards uniquely tied to these events makes it very hard not to try your luck. It’s pretty much like a wheelspin. If it lands on a group of good teammates the car is yours.
However, the same goes for the good players. Which is quite toxic.
Anyway. I’m sorry. I can’t promise I won’t do it again, but I’ll try to only do it on cars that I really want (and I’ll practice).
It’s really weird how many people are finding this so difficult. I’ve done it probably 7 times and lost one. Are some of those complaining repeatedly quitting in or after the first race - I’ve only been on one team which has won that. However, races 2 and 3 are easier and my teams have won those on all bar one occasion.
The cross country one a couple of weeks back or even the AM one last week had much lower win percentages for me - more like 60-65% - although I did them quite a bit more.
Played again tonight with a different gamertag and won it first attempt…
we started with 4 players which is an advantage to start with and even better was that they werent all terrible
I’ve said a few times now
Stop ramming the drivatars…it makes them worse
You can get past them without hitting them usually
I thought this was a tough one but as one poster above mentions it’s because the first one is really hard to win. 2 and 3 are much easier and better still if a couple of people do what I did the first few times and quite out thinking I was in a bad group.
I can’t imagine anything else but trying to change server you play to find more competent teams from different pool.
Prestige levels are somewhat indicative towards how good your team is going to be, but I have seen players with prestige or two get in these races or in Team Game events with cars that aren’t competitive. Best of luck!
I’m gonna be honest. I had more difficulty finishing this one than the previous seasons’ that I did. But I was able to finish it. Most of the time though a CPU came in first, which I hadn’t seen as frequently before. This one was a challenge. Doable, but definitely a challenge.
The undeniable problem of this whole scenario is that the programmer’s seem to be putting highly sought after cars into multiplayer challenges that normal player’s do not enjoy doing or are relying on a modicum of teamwork which just doe’s not exist outside of some clan kind of setup , And that is just the problem entering one of these TRIAL’s can be a lengthy tedious CHORE that turn’s out to be a waste of time because of over aggressive Drivatars literally putting their car’s sideways on the track as you go to pass them and bad teamwork of other players that either senselessly block teammates ,Or make no effort to pass or block opponents , I have now tried to do this challenge 7 or 8 times and failed , What’s the point of this seasonal challenge system that only rewards those truly gifted pro gamers that seem to think that everything is sunshine & lollipops because they are running the game on a PC or have a really good internet connection to the servers , I have sat waiting for a lobby to fill up so many times that I have just switched this game off in the end , There doesn’t seem to be any parity in the team building side of this games multiplayer team events , playground games wasted an awful lot of time trying to make this a multiplayer nirvana that has become the exact opposite , When this game came out my Xbox one X never had any issues but thing’s have gone to SH*T over the last few updates and WE the paying customer have no way of changing it .
No reason to apologise. It’s to be expected that people will be of different standards. It’s definitely worth some single player practice on the tracks with your preferred car though - especially when it’s going to be S2 racing. There’s a lot of crazy driving in the trials and knowing where the road is going makes a big difference in keeping out of trouble! Also probably worth seeing if there are any particular cars/tunes recommended for the Trial online before doing it and choosing a “safe” tune/car option.
