The only online crap that I love in Horizon is the trial.
It is very gratifying to find very fast drivers in your team, and actually CLEANLY fight for the first place with them, even if on the same team. The drivatars become irrelevant.
Just play the trial as soon as it is active, you’ll find the best drivers then, usually.
most are nice to slower guys. I’ve seen some slowing down the drivatars so that the whole team can end up ahead of them.
I love the trial, to be honest.

I wouldn’t call myself good at the game far from it but I enjoy the trial, the best I got was 2nd but I did slow down the drivatars behind me as I’d no chance at firs and 5 of us finished in the top 5 come the end.
I like the trial too, it’s fun, and I hate Multiplayer.

I forget if it was the Trial or the Tour but a few weeks ago when we got stuck in old RWD cars that was nuts, I don’t think I’ve changed every aspect of my build so many times before.
Tis game. Enjoy, or make self miserable. I pick wrong tunes but deal. Try not to suck. Be a team. Team sucks? Quit and find diff group.
If you get rammed, and are good/lucky, you can save it. If not, have fun. Ram rammers if need be. Losing gives opportunity for that.
I hated it, got better, and enjoy it now. AI is suxxors now, but chill for your sakes.
Personal attacks pretty puerile at this point.
My local drives have morons than avg trial.

1.- Fast drivers do not ram because ramming makes you slow.
2.- Fast drivers pass slow drivers ASAP and CLEANLY because that is the fastest and most efficient way to race.
3.- Fast drivers could get rammed in the first turn, but after that, good luck catching up to them.
If people would learn the basics of racing, the online portion of this game would be a million times better, I guess.
Once, 4 bitter and jealous players saw that I was way faster than them, so they tried to ram me in very precarious ways, lol.
They all ended on walls, missing checkpoints, etc.
They were so angry that they tried to do it in all stages of the game. They did not care about winning the Trial anymore, it was about venting their frustrations or something.
They even tried to ram me by slowing down as to be lapped and have more chances to keep trying, lol.
Super sad youth.
However, I still enjoy the Trial for the “challenge” being angry slow drivers trying to ram people, or the very fast legit guys to compete with.

Wow you read my mind and spoke my heart. This exactly. Same experience. I’m good. Like really good and I love racing clean with everything turned off (very satisfying).
But I find myself being angrily rammed by other players for being fast and clean even though they’re on my team and they could benefit from having a fast racer in the team.
Usually makes me laugh as I get far ahead on second lap even though I sometimes end up second because I’ve been slowed down so hard on first lap. Can get annoying sometime but I don’t mind too much.
Sometimes I get a good team, fast as well or fast enough. We all play clean and it feels good to win this way. Sometimes I do my part on my own and hope for the best, sometimes with another fast player respectfully (if he’s faster I let him overtake me) and we barely get enough points with the rest of the team ramming each other or missing checkpoints. Good times.
I still enjoy the trials even though I’m definitely not a multiplayer guy for these very reasons mentioned above. 
I like how challenging it can get compared to the rest of the game which is very easy imo. It may be the only online thing I like in this game tbh. I hate the pgg for instance (infected, king etc). 
Yup. Drama begets nothing. Lol. See how crew chief and owner enjoy ramming in real racing. Enjoy the walk. Lol.
I’ve done this weeks trial more than 10 times, as it’s the first I’ve truly enjoyed in FH5.
The thing though, rammed, pushed, blocked, ‘see you at the finish line’ etc etc… but I always finished 1st.
I put on the snowman outfit just to prove I was there to help, but the idiots still didn’t get the hint.
Nor a sign on the back of my car “I’m Here To Help…!” It must have translated to “Use me as your brake”…
The trial has always been a “good luck” type of race, you either end up with a team of ‘’''ks or a team of pros. It’s like marmite you either love it or hate it. But boy do I love shuffling the morons flying, especially when they think their all that, with their ramming every corner, every checkpoint, or simply forgetting what a brake light looks like… and unfortunately yes I’ve meet a few from this forum, although you’ll know who they are as I’ll call them directly a moron.
Trial = Teamwork. Help those struggling and secure the victory working as a team. If not, quit and find another team. Nothing lost.

This is a result of lots of bad design in the trail.
The game randomly put the fast driver in last places. There are no qualifying before races.
Sometime on higher difficultly trail the 1st place AI run away so fast. The game give you no time for overtake your teammate.
And there are no easy way to tell who is the fastest in the team at beginning.
Some track are so narrow you dont have space over take AI in later section.
So everyone end up ramming others unintentionally.
(*newest trail are lot easier than before so not really have problem to wait for overtake.)
The game knows our stats in matchmaking + give npc stats. so why still keep putting player on random/last places?
And why we don’t have MP ghosting in the trail?
I think the game just puts you in a random position. I can’t see a pattern to it.
Yes it is random.
So why the f it is still random?
It create a situation when Fast driver are in behind + AI is unreasonably pacing + short track = player have to fight their own teammate.
Give us a solo qualify race before playing the trail.
or make the track longer
or still using short track but less car
It is simple.
Well that would just make it take longer to do the trial. It’s not that much of a problem being positioned randomly.
Some trial take 5-6 times to finish because of this
And sometime even prestige 1~2 player dont know how to drive. Maybe use the test lap to stop these player joining the trial without basic prepare.
1 lap(only map1) to test our car + record lap time should be enough.
Only do it once in season
or maybe use the test lap replaces other 1pt~2pt event
