Thanks for the info - I’ll bear it in mind when I hit that limit.
Seems ridiculous that we have to have these limits though.
IDK about everybody else, but my issue with that was the reward. A measly 10 points towards the Festival Playlist. Slap a hard-to-obtain car behind it and I would’ve gone twice the required distance.
Ford Mach-E 1400 - that’s a not available car at the Autoshow and the reward for completing it.
Sorry - thought you were on about the Story Challenge in the Playlist - only 3 points, so I guess you must be talking about the Trial - only 10 pointer I know of.
Forza itself is getting worse. I want the old days back of having to actually play through the game and earn stuff, rather than having stuff given to you. This why games like FM3/FM4 deserve remasters, because those games showed that T10 cared about Forza back then, and put EFFORT into their games.
When this game was first announced, I was EXTREMELY excited about it. First legit Forza for 3 years, a new Horizon game, everything seemed to be heading back in the right direction. I pre-ordered, and when the game finally came out, I played it a lot in the first week or so of launch. But after a while, I stopped playing. I got bored of the game, and it’s the fastest I have EVER become bored of any Forza title. There’s so many issues with this game that it is genuinely laughable.
First off: the progression system is absolutely terrible. Rather than having an actual progression system similar to games like FM3/FM4/FH1, where you have to play the game properly to earn everything, in this game you’re just handed everything. 4 overpowered cars at the start, then the car token which most people buy the best cars with, wheelspins gifting people insane amounts of credits and cars etc. What happened to playing through the game and working towards all of the best cars?
Secondly: PG don’t seem to listen to their fanbase. They remove features that people liked and didn’t want removed, and then add stuff that nobody asked for or wanted. And then when we ask for certain cars or other features, we never get them. It’s almost like we don’t matter to PG, and that they just seem to be focusing on adding so many things to this game that nobody wants, which will make people stop playing. And don’t even get me started on Expansion 1, which should really have been released by now. Typically this expansion comes out 2 or 3 months after the game is released. It’s been almost 5 months and there is still zero information of any kind about it. Other issues like the online and several other major bugs also put a damper on the experience.
I love Forza, and I have since the FM3 days, but I don’t love the direction it’s going in. I want this franchise to be the absolute best it can be, and it isn’t. FH5 feels like it had no effort put into it, and it just feels like the developers don’t care, which is extremely sad to see. PG and T10: if you read this, PLEASE start making some changes to FH5 to make it the best it can be. Engage with us, ask us what we want to see. This entire community want to see the game succeed, but if you don’t add features that people want, it won’t succeed.
For me, the game was amazing till the Willy Jeep spin exploit was removed.
After that point its been non-stop removing and changing any and all fun things or ways to farm points to buy stuff.
Not just cause of that being removed but that was the start of things changing for the worse in this game.
Yeah. It’s such a shame to see what this game has become.
I can’t actually say when I last opened the game was, the features I want to use are still fundamentally broken (camera views, multiplayer lobbies, convoys) and the ones that do work are just average.
I invested almost 100 hours before I stopped actively playing, hoping that each update would bring a fix or make a dent in that massive bug-list… At the rate they seem to be patching things, the game won’t be feature compete until late next year. Pessimistic viewpoint? Absolutely. Unjust? Not after this long I think.
@F1ERCE_EAGL3 I’ve merged your thread with the existing one you commented in to keep the topics together.
I will note that we recently revised the forums and made sure we had a voting system in place so we can highlight and track community feedback. We’re asking what you want to see in the new Suggestions Hub section of the forums. FH5 has also used its evolving world features to bring in new elements to the game on a monthly basis (such as Custom Racing with Horizon Open in this Series), and as stated on Forza Monthly, Playground’s developers are interesting in improving features that interest the players.
Here’s a sneak peak of what happens behind the scenes: Expectations VS Reality of Client + Business Analyst+Developer=Coding - YouTube
I finished all the races and didn’t buy any cars this time. I did buy all the houses. But despite this I still only have 8,8 million credits. In FH4 I had at least 3x that at that point and I hadn’t even bought the Edinburgh castle. They should really increase the rewards or give you more ways to do that because now the only way to make some good money is by trading cars. It’s even worse when they force you to spend up to 100k credits to modify cars to earn FP or other stuff. So the bit of money you do make is wasted on the weekly challenges. It’s like the inflation hit Forza as well!
Agreed. The economy in 5 was abysmal from the start, and was only made worse as time went on. And if people don’t know what I’m taking about, take these into consideration:
- There are no Drivatar daily payouts.
- There are no business daily payouts.
- Daily wheelspins are inconsistently triggered.
- Drivatars are more difficult than ever, thus encouraging most players to race on a lower difficulty, resulting in lower payouts from races.
- Removing assists such as the driving line have no longer have an impact on race payouts.
- Prices in the autoshow have inflated since Horizon 4.
- Wheelspins were eventually nerfed.
- Wheelspins (before and after the nerf) are cluttered with clothes and horns.
- There is still no way to sell duplicate price cars from the Festival Playlist without the auction house.
- PR stunts and Forzathon tasks often require modifications to specific cars, draining funds that could’ve been better spent on other cars outright.
- There seem to be no VIP bonuses for races.
There’s probably more, but that’s all I’ve got for now.
They discontinued Forza rewards just because they don’t want new players to be at a disadvantage, another words stuff players who have been loyal to the whole Forza franchise from the start.
That’s right! Didn’t even notice that. In FH4 I got a lot of loyalty rewards and then some more Ultimate Edition rewards which put me at a couple million at the start of the game. That may be a bit overkill to some but then again, if you have played multiple FM’s and FH3 (Ultimate Edition) prior than you earn it imo.
A game series like this could pass on a player status so that races are fair as well.
I think the broad structure of the game is fine.
The map is great. I’d like more snow on a portion of the map during at least one of the seasons, that’s my only issue there.
The developers seem to be having serious problems with allocating rewards in the right proportion for some reason.
The super wheel spins shouldn’t be nerfed, they should be lucrative. But hard to access. 50 points for a super at the top of a Car Mastery tree. Or perhaps 3 superwheel spins for 50. But you have to bust a gut to get to it. Having an ordinary wheelspin at the top of the tree is for the birds! I’ve seen plenty of them.
The arcade points are nearly useless. Why not make the store into a department store and have a range of things that could be bought? It’d liven up arcade as well.
Some races from the community are promoted. Promote far more of them onto the freeroam map. That’ll inject new interest & there’ll be less focus on how stale the established tracks are.
Indeed, the problem was that I started to resent the amount of glitter in it. It has all these cars with tight, easy gameplay (originally created by Turn 10, let’s us all remember here), but the atmosphere of the game and the poor support have made me abandon it.
There are free to play slot machine apps with better payouts.
When I play solo race, load times are great. Using Corsair MP600 Pro XT 2TB. Probably someone running slow disk on co-op or PvP when it is slow.
Yeah, I think 2000 credits per win and mtx would be good combo.
