I’m not even gonna say I like the least, the single most dumbest thing in this new game to me…piles of logs in between the trees. I can count on 2 hands how many finals I’ve lost because I can navigate through the trees at a decent clip, just to run into a random pile of logs that bounces me right into a tree.
Sometimes I do think they wanna ruin the enjoyment of these games. Removing certain things and “fixing” other things that aren’t broken.
Playlists, PG refusing to interact with the community and acting like a dictator, tons of bugs… too many to count in one, but if I had to pick one, it would be AI.
Ever since the past FH, they have been typical rubber band AI.
This time, however, that trend is worse than in the past, and the AI is as crazy as the NFS developed by EA BlackBox.
They get an infinite power boost on the straights and stick to the surface in the corners. These cheats become especially apparent in circuit racing, even cross-country, and take the fun out of racing.
It’s not a question of winning the race.
It’s that the balance between player and AI is not fair at all, and we are sick of racing just to wait in third or fourth place all the time until they show us mercy.
Of course, this trend has been seen in Forza in the past.
But the AI in those titles seemed a bit more even-handed.
How about in FH5, if there is a straight line of 100m, they accelerate like a rocket and beat us. A race in the rain, a steep corner on a low-grip sandy beach. Even in such conditions, they turned at high speed like slot racing. Don’t be silly.
Unable to narrow down to just one thing.
Frustration with this pre-beta untested cluster harshing my escape from reality.
When diehard users get fed up, despite 6MM players, need to reassess.
Anyone can get someone to buy a game once. Annoying repeat buyers is tough to do.
Congrats T10 and MSFT. Strong work.
Thanks to mods, it isn’t their fault.
Tepid “fix” not even close.
Hmm I dunno, I suspect a lot of players, maybe the majority, are happy with the game. A lot of people seem to have low standards and expectations, and are easily pleased. I was reading a thread on a racing forum where one member said, I kid you not, Playground Games are very on the ball with fixing stuff quickly. That gave me a good chuckle. When it was pointed out that major bugs exist in FH4 going back years, it’s all denied. So plenty of people don’t see things like we do.
Yes indeed I have, those are bad too. The industry has gotten very lazy! Just push a half-finished game out the door and fix it later (or in the case of Forza, often not).
There’s a lot of people, probably even in the millions, who’s first racing game is this game. Maybe they’ve played Burnout, Mario Kart, or did racing on GTA, but that’s about it. The constant rave reviews Horizon 5 gets is nauseating, because even if and when the bugs get fixed, Horizon 5 will still be painfully average as both a simcade racer and an open world racer.
Exactly. A lot of people just don’t see beyond the superficial of the graphics. The game is very barebones. Battlefield 2042 is getting destroyed in user reviews because its community is generally a lot less tolerant of mediocrity than the Forza one is.
No, you’re just over exaggerating everything, just like they told you on the other forum ;).
Since the hotfix, I’ve had very few of the issues that were present at launch and so for me they were quick to fix things and before you say it, no I’m not the one that said that over on the other forum.
What was it you said, five minute load times between events in PGG, nope it never took that long for me not do I experience some of the other issues you’ve mentioned.
As I said over in the other forum, sometimes it’s the hardware and not the software.
I experienced it again in playground games seasonal in FH4 just today. It is the software, it’s a bug. It’s not people’s slow internet or hard drives. Just because YOU haven’t experienced it, doesn’t mean it isn’t a real issue.
I’ve played probably a few thousand online adventures in FH4 of all types so I am well aware of the problems this game has.
I’m not trying to act clever or brag btw, I’m sure nobody cares less how much I’ve played and it says more about not having a life But people like me and the OP of this thread have played online a LOT, and we probably know the game inside out better than some of the devs do at this point.
+1. Just like for a car, someone driving it several hundreds miles a week for years has more experience on using the car than the one having built it. Issue is not the dev, issue is considering dev knows better because he knows how it is built.
I am curious about what they did indeed fix concerning the online racing while moving it from FH4 to FH5. Issues on waiting times between two races, was not fixed, finish line sync issue, not fixed, disconnects not fixed, joining in convoy, disaster afaik, really what did they fixed related to online racing when copy/pasting it from FH4 to FH5, sorry I honestly don’t see ?
I’ve been sitting on this opinion for a few days but I’ll leave it here…I do not think this game is as fun as the last one. I love these games but I’m honest, if FH4 was 4.5, this game is a solid 4. New location is fine but they’ve taken steps back that I can’t ignore, changed other things that werent necessary to tamper with. So many bugs and it shouldn’t be this frustrating this early on.
Curiously enough, there were comments on a FailRace video on YouTube from various people who have neither Horizon 4 nor Horizon 5, but enjoy watching video footage of the games. But the comments were that there was something less compelling about Horizon 5 videos than Horizon 4 ones. The commentators admitted that they couldn’t quite say what made Horizon 5 less compelling, but I sort of understood what they meant, without being able to say quite what.
I had thought I’d entirely abandon Horizon 4 once 5 was out, but I’ve been back to 4 a few times, although not for prolonged periods.
same here…fh4 is just a more enjoyable…everything tbh. There is still people playing just not as many racing. I believe its because they are trying hard like I did…to love fh5. But I just dont get the same feeling playing this
