For me FH5 has far worse replayability compared to FH4. In FH4 there was ranked solo and group races which you could play day in day out as you worked towards a higher rank and improved your skill as a driver. None of that exists in FH5.
Worse than FH4’s Forzathon, Arcade is getting a lot of grief since it is for all practical purposes impossible to complete the 3 rounds. In FH4 I noted that typically 10 percent of the people in the online session could be expected to take part in any given Forzathon. Sometimes a little more, sometimes less. When I check the number of online players now, I have not seen more than 15. My understanding was that there would be many more online players per session in FH5, but that is not true at this time. Assuming the participation percentages remain similar, we could expect to see one or two people per arcade event. This is what most people are reporting. Playground Games seems to have vastly overestimated the skill of the players if they think that two players can complete three rounds at the currently required scores for completion. Until they understand what is going on, they will not be able to fix it. Therefore expect Arcade, and as a side effect the Forzathon shop to be broken for a long time. There are many things that they are energetically working on, but I doubt they have the time to analyze this right now.
The offroad tires being underrated is pretty bad. They’re worse than rally tires on tarmac, but they cost less PI, so people just increase power to gain performance back.
The balance is a little off, since we’ve reached a time when the late-2000s supercars became too good for A class but too weak for S1 class. You can still max out weight reduction/aero/engine/tires to reach the top, though.
The game no longer lets you invert clutch and handbrake buttons, so I no longer can use telemetry with my preferred button setup. I’m on Xbox and I have a worse experience than PC users, which contradicts Phil Spencer’s usual speeches.
I think some cars lost certain engine swaps but can’t recall an example.
No ranked play.
Super Wheelspin perks should never have been on easy to get cars. Instead, the seasonal PR Stunts should’ve given them, as in FH4. Price tweaks to the Forzathon Shop could help divert people from exploits to Horizon Arcade (if they fix it).
This is another one of my biggest problems with the game was the keybind problems. They force useless controls like map, Anna, forza link, and radio while adding things like convertible controls and limiting your use of telemetry.
On Xbox - go to My Festival tab at home, settings, Advanced Controls - third option down is switch e-brake/clutch. Not sure about your other issues but you can definitely switch clutch/ handbrake
Can I provide a counterpoint? I think the map is a massive improvement over FH4. There are so many roads that are great fun to just drive on (not race, just a cruise).
It also feels a lot easier to get around, without hitting the same bit of road over and over. That lake in the middle of FH4 was so boring to keep crossing over to get anywhere.

Would like it much more if it would be literally FH4 with new map.
TBF I like improved Festival Playlist and Horizon Arcade (or at least the idea behind it, including connecting people from different sessions). Ohh, and that I can finally choose cars after 1vs1 in Eliminator.
The worst thing is cheaters. I’m already ready to go to war on the Internet, for the possibility of turning off crossplay (at least in multiplayer).
What’s worse? I find it easier to answer the question, the better - graphics. It’s all. Otherwise, everything is much worse.
Internet connection with other players is terrible.
Previously, croplay was happiness, I could easily play with my friends in co-op and multiplayer, now everything is completely bugged.

3.1) Trying to connect to a multiplayer race, I am thrown into the car selection menu and after 8 seconds thrown out of my forehead due to lack of activity.
3.2) With a friend we go into games, he throws me out of the column, he plays alone (the crown was on me).
I still don’t understand why they throw me in the forehead when the last race is on. At the end of the lap, the mode changes, and if I was interested in the S1900 autocross, then the B700 rally does not interest me at all, and you are already hanging on the loading screens and waiting for the start of the race for 5 or more minutes.

Not only do rear-wheel drive cars now fly into space, so everything that is encountered in multiplayer flies like a car from a class above.
6)bots are cheaters, they drive on rails, and even pick up speed not according to the strength of the car, but according to the strength of the scripts, no matter how I drive, they keep up with me, even if this BMW does not go faster than 300, it catches up with my koenigsegg jesko on rear wheel drive.

The superiority of rear-wheel drive in multiplayer is obvious. In order for me to play comfortably on rear-wheel drive cars with comfort, I have to turn on the slip control, but only with this setting, the irons turn into a train that does not turn.

I have a lot of dissatisfaction with this game, so far I am only perplexed by it.
So in reality, FH5 is worse than FH4 in almost everything!
In general, FH5 has a lot of empty space in it and I think that transition from FH4 to FH5 is difficult (I was playing FH4 frequently right up to the FH5 premiere).
Not that it is a bad thing - I just think that in FH5 you need more time to let it sink in. It has a bit of TDU vibe to it
