Surprised No One Has Talked About This

It’s a decent video and I agree with the points raised. It feels like a week 1 review though, as it’s so heavily focussed on the single player points. A shame it doesn’t also cover some of the problems with the multiplayer aspects, which are meant to be the real focus of the game.

Wow. He absolutely hit the nail on the head. Every broad issue I have with this game he goes into in-depth. Part of me is tempted to nab the video, edit out the swears and upload a private link here just so the mods don’t have any excuses to take the video down.

He doesn’t provide solutions (something I enjoy doing) but he really does go into detail with the issues the game has. The racing IS terrible. The progression IS too fast. The game’s story IS too sterilized. The game’s soundtrack IS garbage. The game IS a massive advertisement. It’s all objectively accurate.

We can link videos. People do it all the time. Shocking as it may be to some, it’s also possible - fairly common even - to communicate without unnecessary cussing.

Appreciate the condensed version

Wait what ? A 38 minute video “review” and they didn’t even touch on MP ? ! Or the chores ! That says a lot.

It’s a digital box of toy cars and the ways of playing with them can be improved without swearing or failing to provide alternative perspectives and ideas.

I’ve had great online races - just not enough and there’s only one online difficultly and lobby system for everyone which is a problem in my opinion, but of course it’s largely a marketing tool.

So is every movie and race we watch. I loved Transformers 1986 Movie as a kid - but the sole purpose of that movie was to launch a new brand of figures. That’s why we had Ford “Fusion” Nascars.

I don’t like that criticism.

It’s also kinda funny that a YouTube influencer would complain about marketing (if I read that right). I imagine his video is as full of links and sponsor promos as most of them are. At the very least it’s almost certainly monetized and they count on the brand recognition of the review subject to get clicks and views.

A good highlight on issues that need work which will unfortunately almost certainly fall on deaf ears.

I think it’s ridiculous to act like what someone on YouTube says is wrong because they have sponsorship. I also don’t think the language was that excessive. He says the F word a few times in 38 minutes. That isn’t going to make a child that might see it here turn into Samuel L Jackson.

Regardless, I agree with pretty much everything this guy said in his video. FH5 is the result of PG sterilizing the FH experience to it’s absolute basics. It’s like cutting into a big, delicious looking cake, just to find that it was papier mache instead of cake under the frosting. All style and no substance. With a dash of weekly chores.

Also, the fact that he could do 38 minutes just for the general issues without diving into the issues with everything related to online and multiplayer isn’t exactly something in the game’s favor.

From what I’ve seen, none of the active users on this forum are children, or if they are, they don’t act like children. So what’s the problem with [Mod edit - WSD - Alluding to profanity is against the tos] in a 38 minute video.

Agreed with the rest of your comment as well.

Well done putting words in my mouth if that was aimed at my comment. I’m sure you know exactly what I meant though.

Thanks, Windswept. That was very cash money of you. The moderation on this forum is literally the running joke of Forza. That, and the lack of bug fixes.

Also, I think there’s unfair lack of sympathy re: cars. We lost the Alfa group because they didn’t wanna be in the game and that’s huge. A big void to fill so of course they’ve had to go to the well a bit than I’m sure they’d like to have.

I wonder if a lot of these seasonal re-released “rewards” would have already been in the autoshow and wheelspins had they been onboard.

I have criticised the game too, but again - licenses are tricky and red tapey. It’s even worse in football/soccer games with teams having to use fictional names one game then real ones the next.

I have no words for you at this point. The censorship on this forum is insane. At this rate we’ll only be allowed to post nursery rhymes here on the forum. What a joke. :skull:

Honestly, it shouldn’t be though. Multiplayer is great end-game content though, and while Xbox Live has been around for decades, I always found it odd that I need to pay 60 dollars for a game, and another 10 dollars a month to get more life out of it.

While I do think there were licensing problems at launch with Lancia, Alfa, and Fiat, it definitely is no longer an industry wide issue. GRID Legends and Gran Turismo 7 both had these manufacturers on their launch days, and since they’re made by completely different developers (which factors out exclusivity), I’m inclined to think Playground could’ve added all three by now, but are likely sitting on them so they can inflate the Festival Playlist more. Heck, if they added every post-Xbox 360 Alfa model, those alone would cover three or four months of the Festival Playlist without adding anything new.

Yeah, whatever the reasonings were, I’d certainly like to hear more on why they weren’t/couldn’t be added retrospectively.

Precisely. Playground was surprisingly transparent about VW’s absence in Horizon 3, so I don’t know what’s stopping Playground from at least saying, “We tried, we know, and we hope to get it turned around.”

Just found the video that was removed. I not only completely agree with it, but there was little profanity in the whole video. Why the hell did it need removed?!?!

Whitelight is admittedly a bit of a potty mouth, but other than the one-time visitors who just drop their wishlists on the forums and leave (never to return again), I think it’s safe to say, Forums guidelines aside, every regular here is at least above 18 years old, because lord knows I’ve heard worse on my elementary school playground, and that was over 15 years ago before the internet become prominent in everyone’s lives. Elementary school kids probably say a lot worse now.
