Something needs to be done about Wreckers in Leagues

Yeah he had a rough night of racing. Fortunately I started or made my way to the front pretty quickly in each race, avoiding all of the incidents behind.

I’d be interested in a c class vintage touring private lobby as I am sick of having my lovely Aston turned into the wall every other race.

Gotta admit though, I did have immense gratification from some of my recovery drives. Making the podium after being airborne on turn one is pretty much a win to me.

In this past week of public racing, I thought I was at an airport. It wasn’t just flying cones and tyres!

My recovery drives entail getting wrecked to last, being infinitely faster than the bottom half of the field, coming past and getting wrecked again. In Pinnacle.

Dont hate the player, hate the game. T10 makes the rules, everyone in the hoppers are just playing by them. The game allows you to cut corners and crash without penalty and still win. So people do that. Until T10 changes the rules of the game, it’s going to stay that way.

Why people likes to blame T10 for everything? I didn’t see Dan Greenwalt cheating and cutting corners…THAT GUY DID, so yeah it’s his fault.

T10 shouldn’t have to babysit every one of us. Tracks are supposed to be run on the tarmac not on the grass, it’s common sense. If you want to race on grass go play FH2 it’s that simple.

Why not both? I can be annoyed that there aren’t better mechanics in place to stop corner cutting and also hate players who don’t have the basic decency and mutual respect to follow the racing line anyway. I can tell you that the hoppers I stick around in are the ones with other top racers who respect each other enough and enjoy actual racing so that they don’t cut corners or hit each other. I’ve found that anyone that is actually fast enough to keep up with these racers will respect those rules because they want to have fair, clean races with good opponents. This makes for excellent quality racing. On the other hand, the ones that subscribe to you and Dewstain’s perspective tend to be much slower and rely on that philosophy as a crutch.

So go ahead and follow the rules set by the lowest common denominator if you want. It will only bring down the overall quality of your races.

Exactly, people complained about sticky grass, now you’re complaining about cutting.

That’s not exactly a place I’d consider a usual cutting spot either, in fact, I’ve never seen anyone cut that before.

After you said earlier he had “nowhere else to go” you made it clear that you’re clueless about track limits and fair racing, so yeah…

Ballora?!? Is that you?

I’m just saying avoiding contact with cutting is better than contact and running into the back of a vastly slower car, and that’s a corner you can take flat, so the fact that the guy slowed caught the OP off guard.

I dunno who Ballora is so def not me =P

Ok I see your point and I would agree with you if I thought it was the case, however this is what he said:

“They deliberately removed sticky grass and put in barriers on corners they don’t want you to cut. Everything else is fair game.”

So after reading that and seeing how he called it an “EPIC pass” you can’t seriously think that he did it as a last resource kinda thing. He knew what he was doing, he had other options and still decided to cheat and gloat over it so yeah…I’m kinda done discussing the topic.

So what your saying is its ok to cut corners so long as there the ones people don’t usually cut?

I must be watching a different video to you because all I see is somebody cutting the track to gain position. The last corner he had more than enough time to slow down. He didn’t slow down purely because it was the last lap and his only hope of beating him was by cheating, which judging by his posts in that thread he has no problem with doing. When you want to avoid going into the back of someone you slow down not launch yourself up the inside across the grass he’s lucky he didn’t slide into him and take him out.

Fair enough. I mean I think compared to bumping I just don’t see this as a huge issue.

Epic? Perhaps not but he did hold it and avoid messing everyone else up.

An “iRacing light” system would be perfect. They’re already tracking each driver’s performance for league classes. Instead of tying that to how you finish tie it to how often you come into contact with other solid objects.

My expectation for moving up is not that lap times will come down, but that I’m more likely to drive against clean racers.

The lazy approach of ghosting cars that fall a certain distance behind first based on track length would be fine too. Dealing with lapped traffic is a part of racing, but these races are all so short that there’s no reason a safe driver should ever come close to being lapped, no matter how slow you are.

When I made a thread on FM4 about corner cutting, even highlighting the worst areas, forum users shot me down. So don’t expect too many people to be on the same page about it, they’ll see that example and will think it’s fair game. I think that guy should be banned. He cheated, there’s proof, and he’s trying to justify it! You cannot justify that. It’s disgraceful.

I hope to meet this guy in a lobby so I can challenge him legit.

This is why I stick to specialised community organised racing series, where the standards are FAR higher.

Banned? Seriously? It is a friggin’ game man. And as far as I know, there is nothing in the Forza ToS that states corner cutting is a bannable offense.

And Shibbity, I added you to my FL. I want to see how much faster you are than me. I’m prepared to be blown away.

Corner cutting is cheating and unsporting behavior. The player used an in game exploit to gain an unfair advantage. Pretty sure T10 didn’t intend for players to cut corners to receive a unfair advantage.

It’s not an exploit, it’s not a valid lap time, but it is still a means to achieve a faster lap time. Nowhere in Forza’s Terms of Use does it says you must stay on the track.

I don’t agree with this. It is not in the spirit of the game. It is a game based on Motorsport, you cut a corner and gain an advantage in a real race there is a penalty. Fair enough T10 haven’t managed to implement a system to do this, not an easy thing to do, but do people not have some honour. You should race cleanly. I’d rather finish in 6th by racing cleanly than 1st by corner cutting and knocking cars off the road. More dignified that way.
