Silverstone GP

Nice little race. I must admit I do love these endurance races. 178 miles complete. A few wreckers in the beginning, but they left after 10-15 minutes. It was sad to see some have to limp back to the pits , but they got around ok and back into it. How was your race?

Wait, how long is this thing? Or did you mean 178 miles?

Either way, I’ll get to it either tonight or tomorrow.

Yep my bad, I meant miles

8 People started, 4 of us left to race to the end.

I did 169 miles using my high grip/turn-in tune (Shared tune name: “SilverstoneGP” if anyone wants to use it).

I pitted once at 125 miles, i think my tyres were around 80% worn, i’d used around 1/3 of a tank of fuel.

I hit a laggy back marker at around 5 minutes to go and limped around a lap and pitted again for one final hot lap. I also had a quick get a drink break.

A nice easy endurance race, i wish they would add a lap timer so i could see lap times…

EDIT: a video of a few of my laps here → https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_YquZscCmQ

180 miles, had to pit twice cause of backmarkers swerving across the track into my path, fun little hopper

In a lobby now with zero waiting time but need 3 more players to start.

Join if you want to race.

It was a nice race. I did 167 miles with one pit stop 45 minutes into the race. I took it easy during the race. I think I had only two bumps during the race. They were when the race started. The car in front of me didn’t take off right away. I avoided him but got gently bumped from the rear. Coming up to the first turn I was on the outside and someone bumped me into the grass. Other than that I had a clean race. There were two very fast drivers. Whenever I saw them behind me I pulled over and let them pass. I may have been too worried about damage. I don’t want to ruin somebody else’s race.

These hoppers would be great with full lobbies but sadly most of the time it feels like your racing yourself with how empty they are.

These long term races would be much better if the matchmaking had some sense. Microsoft made a huge deal about smart matchmaking and how much better it was, and yet I still join into games that are wildly below and or wildly beyond my skill level, and it continuously joins me back into lobbies that I have left on purpose (not d/c or crashing). Not to mention It tosses you into games with maximum wait times constantly when there are plenty of other lobbies much closer to starting…

Other than that, these endurance races are great, keep them coming T10

I did one this afternoon. After a long period of trying to find a lobby with a low wait time, I finally found one in the 20 min mark and sat out the wait for the race to start. Had a few bumps along the way (including someone that bumped me off on the turn after the old start/finish line…ended up in the wall and had to limp back to the pits on the first lap) but I was able to hang on for a P2 finish at around 169 miles. 11/12 finished the race with the only one that left being the guy that hit me on the first lap. Also saw several of the racers that were willing to move out of the way when faster cars were coming behind them, which was nice. Overall, a really fun lobby. I hope T10 keeps up with these endurance races as I do find them highly enjoyable - more so when they make you pit (Silverstone/Le Mans) as opposed to the Nurburgring (it’s nice to be able to relax and stretch/get a drink of water every once in a while).

I’ve been getting the multiplayer is currently unavailable all day and haven’t been able to do the race. Anybody else having problems with it?

Interesting race for sure but the whine of the E21 gets old quick.

I really enjoy these endurance races but they should add showing lap time after each lap and showing fastest lap in results. Would make it more interesting.

I found it very helpful to know my current lap was the same distance as my previous lap!

I ran this race yesterday, started in first my buddy totaled my car the turn right before pit lane. Only prob was I didn’t know where pit lane was. So after I found the pit entrance(a lap down to everyone) I started my race in 8th of 8. 1st and 2nd were both running very fast as I got lapped again by both but ended in 4th place at the end. The slower guys were very nice pulling over for faster people from lap 1 to the end of the race. Had a great time in this race.

Got knocked out of the lead 30 min in, fought back to the front only to be taken out again with 6 min left. Gotta love people who only do it to mess with the people trying to race

Ran this afternoon and it was a clean lobby apart from one dude getting taken out twice at the beginning, the person who did it left soon after.

livestream now: Raceboy in 1st place, Mechberg in 4th place

Not too bad… fairly uneventful compared to my 2.4 hour run on the 'Ring, though. Started out with 6 players, then quickly whittled down to 3 within the first 4-5 laps. Last three of us stuck around 'till the end.

First 9-10 laps were kinda brutal. Got wrecked a bit in the frenzy of the first lap so I had to pit on the second, then a few laps after I caught the inner rumble strip of the first turn in a bad way, slid out and slammed my back end into a tire wall. Back to the pits for a second time! I managed to slowly work my way back up to first place, though, and pass the leader after he makes his own mistake. Finished first, running a total of something like 170-175 miles. Not a bad race given the damages, but it would’ve been fun with a few more people.

Jumped on to do this tonight, instantly got in a room just as the race had ended. Race starts with 8 people and my game was being super laggy. Constantly doing the speed surge thing. I thought 8th would get better but after two laps I bailed

After several attempts I get in another lobby with 3 minutes left. Race starts and same thing. Game itself is being laggy. Anyone else experience this?

I decide I’m just going to ride it out. Sitting in 3rd place right behind 2nd and 2nd hits a smoking back marker and I get caught in the wreckage. Get around to pit. Back in 3rd again, get up near 2nd and he spins out and with the game still lagging I have no hope for avoiding him. The rest of the race I was in last. Other cars start dropping out though and I win the race of attrition. Currently 8 minutes left on the clock with 128 miles showing. No fun to really even keep making laps the way the game is lagging.

I stopped making laps at about 18 minutes on the clock. Had I kept running the pace I was when I stopped I would have ended up with about 164 miles
