Just Completed 2.4 Hour D'Endurance!

It was far more exhausting and intense than I thought it would be. Those 2.4 hours and 320 miles were nothing to sneeze at. Doing this does make me feel like I accomplished something though, and endurance races are definitely my favorite race type now. Sooooo worth it.

i think i just finished my last one. i forgot to empty my bladder before the race and it was torture. and they threw me in r class so i only got 326 miles. i did screw up a few times. and now i have a headache. if they let us use the 70s ferrari or mcclarens i might do the ring just to grab that achievment.

Finished half an hour ago. First try ended up in a big crash in turn 1 (seems like noone knew damage is on).
New lobby, better drivers (I thought ^^). 10 cars, 6 left directly after turn 1 (again) but I started 10 seconds later than the rest to keep out of trouble and leave my #007 Aston Martin in one piece

After 2:40hrs there were only a LMP1 and me left. But he was cool, we drove the last lap side by side (did 37 laps after all).

It was fun.

But I hope that damage is turned off at the Ring next week. That could become really scary then

lol…I’d like it on just for sport but I can imagine the horrible limp back to the pits after a bad corner. It would suck but kinda keep everyone toned down. Talk about sporty :stuck_out_tongue:

on the 1st turn just whip a uturn and go back to the pit entrance if you have to. you’ll be ghosted so you wont wreck anybody.

I agree I would like them to leave damage on for the ring endurance challenge, it definitely makes things more interesting and will weed out the destruction derby drivers within the first lap

I agree. Endurance races need the Sim damage.

Not when you get a higher class wrecker helping his buddy win! I had to pit atleast six times after getting punted and still caught his friend four times. Sim damage sure but no collisions would be better.

Sitting waiting for mine to end. Had to pit right at start twice thanks to idiots. Ran 112 miles before next pit then ran remaining to stop at 296 completely out of gas for bone dry badge and title.

Good race Daz that corvette of yours was bloody quick in a straight line.

I managed to get 337 miles in my Aston finishing 2nd & only needing one pit stop

Cheers dude you too ! I was surprised it took me until 40 mins left to catch you ! that Aston and you ain’t slow!!

I wasn’t sure if I could eek it out to one stop, the tires were getting slippy around 65% wear so I just played it safe and went for the 2 stop, enjoyable though cant wait for the Nurburgring one although that really is going to Sap the concentration

Dang, first endurance I’ve done where there was no quitter in the lobby! There was 10-11 of us for beginning to end.

Just finished mine, racing GT class. I had an excellent battle for the lead with the same guy the entire race, and only lost out by about 10 seconds.

Oh, and I happened to notice DJ Lime was in the same lobby in P class. Good thing I wasn’t a part of that carnage. lol!

Can’t wait to do the one at the 'Ring!

Just finished the race. Got put in P class and I firmly believe I won the race with pit strategy (I didn’t think that was possible in Forza). Only had 2 drop out of the race. It was a guessing game because my car had cornering but the guy in second had straightline speed. My win was solidified when he hit a backmarker.

As a quick side note. Someone at MS or Turn10 needs to figure out a way to negate the Kinect mic. One kid had his blaring for most of the race. All we could hear was his car, I misshifted the entire lap.

Just finished.

Started 1st in LMP in the Toyota One, but got punted off in the 2nd corner by accident - I had to slow up for the R class cars taking up the road in front and someone behind misjudged - and was put deep in to the sand.

A few laps later, retook 1st place, then got plowed in to from behind by a Corvette in the entrance to the first kink in the long straight - pretty sure also by accident, limped around and pitted.

Then about 1-2 laps later a Corvette back marker seemed to intentionally PIT maneuver me right before the long straight, making my car undrivable over about 35 MPH, so probably to the dismay of the few drivers behind me I turned it around and drove it backwards (best I could with the car making random 90 degree turns) back to the pit entrance.

Finally back on the road, the SAME Corvette back marker tried to swerve in to me again as I went by - but I was expecting it and avoided the collision (that driver finally quit a few laps later).

Spent most of the rest of the race playing it safe with back markers (especially the last place R class cars) that refused to get the heck out of the way. This was my fault to a degree because I had gotten so used to passing them only to get nailed by them from the side or behind that I was way more cautious passing. The guys in 1st and 2nd in R were VERY respectful to faster traffic and easy to get around.

Final crash was when the guy in 3rd place behind me (at least 3 laps down at that point) straight-lined the sharp turn at the end of the long straight, pinning me against the wall until he ghosted - but I avoided any damage somehow. Really not sure if that was a mistake or intentional.

About 15 minutes before the end, the guy in first had a nasty crash with the guy in last place in LMP and I managed to squeeze through the recovering cars without a scratch and held on to first till the end.

I really miss the ‘ahead’/‘behind’ HUD info. I had no idea for most of the race how far behind first I really was. I was actually surprised I had caught back up to him when I did.

Well that was interesting. Was in P class and went with the 787B. Haven’t driven it much so it took some getting used to. There were a few incidents. I was in third and the person in second went off the track and I passed him. Coming onto the Mulsanne straight a Corvette braked harder than I expected and I hit him. Not overly hard but enough to do damage. By now the guy in third had caught up and seemingly deliberately smashed me into the rail, further damaging my car and his. It was a pretty lonely race except when overtaking the R class drivers. It’s probably worth taking your time when overtaking or it could end in tears. Here’s a hot tip! Don’t cut the left hand turn with the rumble bars in the Porsche curves unless you want to wreck your car.

Was put in GT and used the 458, for once I was happy to start at the back of 5 cars. 2 managed to find each other at the Dunlop curve. That left me chasing a Viper in 2nd who I was able to pass heading into Indianapolis. Next up was Vette, he had a lot of straight line speed so it took about 10 laps to catch up to him. As luck would have it this guy was burning his tires up fast and he lost it at Terte Rouge.

From there it was smooth sailing, pitted once around the 178 mark and lapped the Vette 4 or 5 times. He must have missed a chicane because he was smoking each time I went by. 337 miles for me and the viper in 2nd had 331, Vette had 271

Will probably do this again tomorrow.

It sounds like you don’t get to pick your class for this race. How does that work?

When the lobby starts it randomly selects what class you are given, just like a normal multiclass race. If you are lucky you get P class.

Completed it myself last night with 347 miles and ended up winning the race by the grand total of a mile in my 908.

Lobby was originally 8 people so we ended up with a 50/50 split between R and P classes, me in my 908, one guy in an R18 another in an R8 and an F333. R class ended up with a Vette, two Astons and a 458.

The Vette quit (on the first lap) which I assume was a ragequit after he rammed the 458 and didn’t realise damage was turned on. It was all good until we had to lap the F333 (seemed the guy driving wasn’t too good) and he proceeded to ram me (he eventually quit the lobby after an hour), after that every single time we came near the two Astons it was a ram fest as they seemed not to enjoy the fact they had been given R class instead of P. This knocked me down to second, then my son woke up so I had to park up for 5 minutes…

Ended up overtaking the leader (R18) with half an hour to go as I knew my laps were at least a good 5-10 seconds faster than his and from then on I just coasted around and had the lobby lasted 10 more seconds I would have actually finished the lap I was on too!

It’s a great little lobby, as long as you don’t get some complete idiots deciding to ram you because they are annoyed at not getting to drive in P class.
