Remove this headstart in drag races and introduce Class dependant drag races instead

Hello again

Where did you guys even got this idea to make Drag races open to every class and introduce this whole Headstart feature?
As far as I remember every single online race in previous releases was Class dependant… When you joined the lobby, the leader of that lobby was able to choose the class you’re going to race in. Of course that wasn’t perfect too, because a simple vote from everyone is better.

So as of now I can see two ways out of this:
EITHER
remove Headstart feature and STILL allow everyone race whatever they want (good luck in winning with D class car)
OR
Make live easier and better for everyone and make class dependant drag race lobbies (when someone joins the car meet with A class car he will be connected with other users with A class cars etc.)

Option B is the way it should have been done from the start. Obviously everyone who is okay with the state of drag racing as it is now is either dumb or he/she uses the Dart or Mercury Coupe.

Seriously, the choice with who we want to race on the drag strip should be ours. If I want to race in B class car I want to race with other B class cars. I don’t want to race with S2 Vipers and start before they do, what kind of drag racing is that?

Please, fix this issue asap.
Regards

Totally agree with this post I dont bother with drag races because of the head start feature with mixed class racing its pointless .

Dumb question…but can you do a dragrace in singleplayer anyway ?
And how to host one / play one in MP ? 'cause I’ve seen players on the airstrip but dunno how to fix it meself.
Sorry for hijacking topic.

I think they did it this way as a way to bolster player base for that mode… Maybe not for today because the game is new but down the line… That said I completely agree something needs to be done.

I prefer your option B, class based drag racing (its what I assumed I would be doing when I setup my first car…), but do feel the need to have the option for the player to search for anyone cause I feel it shouldn’t be changed for those who like it as is… I also think drivatars could/should feel in for those having issues finding players.

This idea has been a resounding failure. Whats the point of even trying to set up a great drag car when so many people are running D and C class cars with V12’s that get 10+ seconds head start. I’d love to see a return to Class based Drags and perhaps even a power to weight class.

This game has no “drag racing”. What they have now at best a standing mile, salt flat top speed run that dominated by people that run AWD and V12s.

I’ve been writing about wanting proper drag racing in any of the forza games. Motorsport keeps dumbing it down, no leaderboards in 6. Horizon games would be amazing if there were proper upgrades for drag specific cars, (I think drifters and off roaders should get the same,) proper drag tracks, places to race on the street.

Make a small 1/4 mile, 1/8th mile track. Have the tree be activate when you drive close. Have the tree trigger when you get lined up and staged. Can’t be to much different than a speed zone or drift zone.

Anyway, something for actual drag racing is long over due!!

Really if there are any head starts the counter should be working in reverse; S2 goes first, then S1, etc. Then it’s like a multi-class race where each class is racing against cars they’re actually competitive against, rather than giving the illusion that S2 cars are balanced against C cars just because they get off the line faster (and still come first before you even make it to the 50% mark)

totally agree with this post! its just stupid the way it is!

there will still be alot of ppl using the dart or the mercury all the time but at least it will be more fun if the lobby is all on the same class

would be nice to chose betwen FWD, RWD and AWD separetly too but if its arranged by car class it will be much better already

There will always be PI freaks, no
Matter how they set it up.

While I applaud their effort towards creating a “bracket like” environment…, about the only way your going to get a system like that to work is comparing previous times with each particular car, or letting the user predict their e.t. And if you break out of that e.t. You lose.

Probably best to just delete the head start fellas…

Right. I was going to reply to the OP that the idea comes from real bracket racing, but then I realized from all the posts that something more is going on here. I haven’t tried the Forzathon drag race yet. Need to do that to get better informed, at least.

I agree with this post.
I must continue to look at the tail lamp of the monster of C-Class?
When the drag race rule is not corrected, I would not be able to get the # 17 Falcon.
Playground Games is do it could not have been predicted such a situation?

Plenty of people have been able to get the Falcon, it just a matter of having the right car and tune. There are several successful tunes for the Caterham on the marketplace, which are capable of beating the Darts and Mercurys.

I got it first try in DLC Lotus. My car was in S and the others weren’t. They didnt have a chance. Keep trying until you find right lobby.

Agree. This Drag racing setup is a complete JOKE!

I’ve removed the profanity from the thread title.

It’s worth noting that the bracket issue is related to the same issue noted previously on circuit racing…absolutely crazy PI ratings or lack thereof for power upgrades.

As result due to headscarf, 1500 hp C class cars will win every race.

Drag racing is now suffering from the same trend. Crazy power is easy to stuff in a car and awd provides instant huge grip.

+1 Having a massively powerful AWD supercar beaten by a car that should be in the same class, yet isn’t for some reason and gets a 10+ second head start is downright ridiculous.

It’s a slaughter whenever someone decides to game the C-class head start instead of doing the Forzathon challenge with an Extreme Track Toy. Hell, even the preferred build for the Forzathon is an A-class Caterham to exploit the head start.

If someone is determined to screw with other players by sitting in the lobby and joining every showdown with a V12 AWD C-class, NO ONE in their Extreme Track Toys stand a chance.

I beat the A class tuned Caterham in an S2 tuned one, so it is possible.

If they’re doing it intentionally, that’s griefing, and should be met with a swift ban.
