Drag Racing FM7

Has anyone heard if Turn 10 is bring back leaderboards for drag racing?:+1:t2::+1::-1::-1:

I really hope for that at the very least. Drag racing needs some functionality. At least a nice slice of developer Love! It’s time for drag racing to get a home!!

No news yet.

It’s not the type of thing that would come up naturally in the typical E3 conversations (too esoteric for the casual fan), though if you sent a tweet to @Dan_Greenawalt you might get a response.

Deja vu… Rewind 2 years… I’d bet not. Hate to pour salt in an old wound but, forza 6 had a drag leaderboard that was kept from the drag community. I’d say they’ve made their choice In what they’ve chosen to include in their definition of Motorsport, and it more than likely won’t include the drag community.

I hope your wrong, man. But I’m a realist also. My frustration besides what you mentioned, is no one capitalizing on the boom in popularity. Maybe the Deadliest Catch game is scaring them off, but come on man, Deadliest Catch?! We’re talkin’ RACIN’!! Lol

drag lives still matter, lol

Seen a few of the interviews and nobody has asked anything about drag racing. Where is drag racing heading to in FM7? What has been done new for the drag racing community? Its been many years playing Forza and having to improvise drag racing into the game is getting old. No burnout box, no real tree system, no drag racing equipment or tires. In depth tunning for boost, timing or air/fuel ratio. Ability to use launch control, antilag or a transbrake. Anybody has any info?

I think you answered your own question:

I’ve seen nothing on Drag Racing yet either, other than that it has been confirmed that the Single Player campaign won’t feature any Drag or Drift events (ie: Drag/Drift are exclusive to Multiplayer).

YEAH!

It’s very sad to me that turn 10 or other game devs haven’t taken a chance to bring drag racing into gaming. Other than of course for cell phones.

I hope somebody, at some point, will take chance. I had very much hoped it would be Turn 10. I guess I have to find an original xbox and a copy of NFS Pro Street.

I’m so glad there isn’t more emphasis on drag racing or drifting. People that like these things give them too much credit. There really isn’t much demand for these, or else there would be drag racing console games and drifting console games. It works on mobile because they’re either free or cheap, but there isn’t a market for a $60 drag racing game. Few people would even buy one for $20. If someone wants more emphasis on drag racing, make it a stand-alone game. Honestly, I don’t even care if they do bother developing drag a bit in Forza, so long as it’s not incorporated into the career mode at all. That should be a side activity at the most.

There was a 360 version of Prostreet too, just so you know.

Does anyone know if Forza 7 will have online drag racing?

It will.

No further details so for now expect it to be identical to Forza Motorsport 6.

Forza Motorsport 7 : Top Gear, Limo & Easter Egg!!! (Q&A w/ Turn 10 Part 2) - YouTube 2:25 mins in they discuss drag racing, all they have said is “expect that experience to be great”, hopefully they release some details soon.

Sounds very promising, hopefully the have some surprises in store.

The interview DOESN’T sound all that promising in my mind. He didn’t seem to know what to say, and sounds like the experience will be similar to FM6, with drag racing not really being much on the radar.

I would like to see some single-player or 2-player split screen Drag Racing, with ET’s and MPH displayed at the end of each race.

I really think that Forza 7 would be smart to consider a full-out Drag Racing DLC Expansion pack. I think a lot of people would bite!!

I would love to see it simply for the fact that yahoos would buy a top fuel car and try to race it.

I would definitely pay for it,hell if they announced that a drag racing expansion dlc is definitely in the future I would pre order the game now no questions asked

If they actually built functionality and gave some actual drag racing upgrades, a working tree with full staging. Something that was more than the filler/afterthought that drag has been to this point. If they would do that then most of the casual, “I hate the straight line boring drag racing” people might actually get a chance to like it. But for all the for a folks that have been dreaming of drag racing getting a fair shake, well that would just be a dream come true.

It would be awesome to have a back halfed, old school muscle car, tube chassis with 4 link rear, fully adjustable of course. 36 x 16 rear drag slick or a small tire 28.5 drag radial with little 4 inch front wheels. Trans brake with bump box. Programmable/tunable fuel, boost and timing. Really anything more than drag compound. That’s it, that’s all we’ve gotten in 10 years, drag compound. Lol

Sounds like you’re looking for a Drag Racing simulator, when Forza haven’t even become a full-blown Circuit Racing simulator yet.

Unfortunately for you, that seems like a very niche genre, and based on this you’re looking at 3rd party modifications of PC titles to get something close to what you’re after: https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/3xn7v1/are_there_any_drag_racing_sims_if_no_why_the_hell/

Drag Racing in Forza is not going to deviate from the “here are some drag strips, here are some sticky tyres, the rest is up to you” formula of the past decade. If you’re lucky you’ll get your Leaderboards back, but don’t expect any innovation in this area when they haven’t explored everything in Circuit Racing and Drifting just yet.
