Who else is stuck in the “refund run-around two-step” with Microsoft? I’m so upset that I spent $100 on what can only be described as a game that shouldn’t have even been made available as a beta release that I could scream. And Microsoft acts as if they couldn’t care less. I’m ignored every time. No callbacks. I’m honestly at my wits end on what to do now. I’m tempted to file a complaint with the BBB … who on here has been successful in obtaining a refund and what on earth did you do to get it?
I requested a refund when the first update did not fix the career save bug (Pre-release customer).
In my request I stated that the product is far from “as advertised” and unplayable.
It was after 20+ days playing.
Refunded without question.
I’m not sure this would work now, as the game is functional - if barely.
I had the same nasty experience. But don’t let anger control you. Do something positive. Protect others from falling for these false promises. Write your experience under each YouTube video. Comment on every sales page.
If you can save 10 others, your $100 is still gone, but you know that those who ripped you off lost a total of $1,000.
And if there is a righteous higher power, then they will all lose their jobs and their dog will run around the house with diarrhea.
That reply made me giggle and laugh out loud.
Can’t agree more though. And well written.
So you dont even own it anymore ???
Well, for me it would be about 640€ accounting for VAT and the Steam fee. Unless you’re calling VAT a ripoff, which, you know, fair enough.
Not sure if you’re aware or not, but a lot of people aren’t. Better Business Bureau is a private business just like Yelp. A lot of customers have the misconception that they are some type of regulatory authority that businesses are scared of. In my experience, most couldn’t care less about the BBB.
do a credit card charge back at this point. File it under false advertisement or something
I don’t know about most of what you’re saying, but “positive” seems very relative here. Wishing people to lose their jobs because you don’t like a game…? I don’t know where you purchased the game, but on Steam (just for example) you can return any game if you played for less than 2 hours. Refund policies on games are and have been pretty clear, so unless MS have not honored that in your or anyone else’s case, what you are saying is quite unfair. And after reading what AlexTheKid4773 said about getting a refund after 20+ days, I doubt MS wouldn’t have honored any legit refund requests.
I’m not saying people shouldn’t try to get refunds if they really end up hating a game and it’s past the return window, but the outrage and sense of entitlement here is really sickening.
You need to read more, buddy.
No! It’s because I was lied to. This game does not display the announced NextGen graphics in any way. When the game was delivered, the return period had already expired. In MS’s opinion, the deadline starts with the pre-order.
No I do not.
I’d love to see those responsible for this heap of dung step into liquified dog excrement.
TBF its going on like 4 months now and the game is very much still incomplete and broken in many ways especially for PC players. Im on series X and ive suffered about 8 crashes this week alone trying to play MP
To sum this up - you didn’t like a video game and now wish the developers to wade in dog diarrhea. That is… I got nothing, sorry.
I had the game pre-ordered on Steam, played it in early access, decided I wanted the MS version and got a refund on Steam no problem.
When and where exactly did you buy the game, and how long did you play it for before requesting the refund?
It does have some issues, screensaver coming on, driver suit not being remembered and I had very rare crashes - to me the experience has overall been positive though. Not as positive as review bombing and wishing for people to lose their livelihood, but still, positive gameplay.
Agree i dont wish it would happen but unless they really really crack down and start pushing out huge content fixes asap (multiple times a month) they will lose there jobs
Can you maybe share a source where these potential job losses are reported?
Don’t worry about them. Such specialists are always needed at MS. Someone has to move the start menu to the right edge for Win 12.
I pre-ordered the game and (I believe) if you want a refund on a pre-order you have to request one ‘x’ amount of days BEFORE it releases. Seems ridiculous but that’s the policy. I generally believe in giving people a chance to make up for their mistakes, thus the reason I’ve just recently started down the refund road.
At this point my patience is worn through, as updates are barely trickling out and have introduced as many bugs, if not more, than have been fixed. Maybe I’m viewing this a bit more harshly than some because for me, this has been a repeat of what happened after the launch of FM7. What pushed me over my breaking point was how obvious it is that these fixes aren’t tested any more thoroughly than they were with the previous title.
I don’t feel it’s right for a huge corporation to ignore its customers and plunge ahead, all the while portraying the image that all is well. When I saw the ridiculousness that was the “Best Racing Game of 2023” award for the new FM I figured I would be speaking into dead air when trying to get my money back.
I was just curious if anyone had been successful in getting their money refunded. Looks like I need to just view this as a learning experience and move on. I guess I’ll come back to the game in October of this year to see what the state of the game is a year post-release.
