Another reason why you should NEVER preorder anymore. I hope you have learned from this @Doktr_Apokulypz
Nope, a GaaS game is always going to be more of a bug fest as it’s designed to be to keep them employed, then when you add (or should I say drip feed content back like they are being generous) like Tracks and expect it to work on the fly, yeah nah
Not that they don’t like it, more it’s not what was advertised and is unstable and boring.
Customers are entitled to a sense, they earned their money and spent it on something that isn’t delivering
Your team may have had a great season, but didn’t make it to the super bowl… Coach is fired.
You didn’t make your sales quote… fired.
Your new automobile design is a total dud and doesn’t sell… fired.
Your new piece of software doesn’t deliver as promised (or even worse, it doesn’t work at all)… fired.
I could go on, but I think that is enough examples.
So yes, if the dev don’t or can’t deliver what is promised or doesn’t work… fired along with the project manager.
And it is no secret that regardless of how you look at it, this game is anything BUT a success, on many levels.
Game companies have “GaMiNg JoUrNaLiStS” & “iNfLuEnCeRs” & apologists helping them peddle poor quality, so if we don’t counter that misleading messaging, quality will only continue getting worse.
Industry won’t regulate itself, and no regulatory body is going to step in and enforce quality standards on video games.
Shortly after publication, I posted a screenshot here in the forum with the rejection of the refund. The pre-order refund period, monitored by a bot, runs from the order date.
‘No problem’ I thought to myself. This is something every customer service representative understands. But an automated system answers the phone number. The whole thing then ends with the bot reading me a link, which I can type in my browser. So I’m on a page where I can enter my refund request. I did that twice. No reaction!
This non-communication is likely to annoy customers.
I’m glad you had better experiences in this regard. Steam is apparently more customer-friendly. My experience with Microsoft was different. Such business practices are disgusting and should have no future. T10 as an MS subsidiary is involved.
If a game performs poorly and theres major loss then there is layoffs… happens all the time. Not to mention microsoft has no problem gutting teams to save money hence the 1900 people layoff across activision, blizzard and some other studios like a week ago.
I can see why you’re salty at them, if this was the case. If they actually counted the time from when you ordered, instead of the time you had actual access to the game, that would be very questionable and I’d also advise filing a claim with your institution. That you can’t even talk to a rep on the phone is also a very bad look for MS.
All that said, my experience with the game has been mainly positive, which is not to say that I can’t see someone else’s point who doesn’t like Forza Motorsport - I just disagree with how many people present themselves with their complaints and take it to another level.
It’s just that you don’t know how FM actually has performed so far (actual sales numbers, players on Game Pass etc., but I’m not going to discuss those since I don’t know them either) and are disregarding that there’s also people enjoying the game. I’m not going to argue with what you dislike about the game, you don’t like it you don’t like, it would be arrogant of me to tell you differently.
The assessment of good and bad relates more to the business transaction than to the matter.
I bought a nice but broken radio. Good or bad? It was good because it corresponded to what the salesman said.
FM23 is comparable to many other good titles. Does that make it good? No! because more was promised. Much more.
You may have perceived me as a less than relaxed person, but I see myself as very tolerant. I develop and do business. I make mistakes too. I admit the same to my business partners. But making mistakes also means solving them. And if fulfillment is not possible, then you withdraw, refund the price already paid and, if necessary, an agreed penalty. This is how business between adults works.
No. Just Gamepass until I am satisfied Turn 10 have progressed to open beta.
I’ll buy it again, even if it’s just for nostalgia (been with them since OG Forza).
