One of their last tweets:
“Will X1 version have all sim features (no drivers in cockpit view; custom huds, fov, apex look, etc) as the PC version?” ← Yes!”
Reminds me how much I hate the Hot-air balloons lol.
I’ve never had the privilege of racing sims on a PC, but as far as I can tell this is going to be as good. I’ve watched a lot of iracing, and PCars, and honestly think I prefer the look of this.
If the game lives up to its hype, it’s going to cost me a wheel
Project Cars looks better, but I think Forza sounds better. And I noticed in the video the displays were a little different on the cars as well as what gear they were in. I’m thinking the car shown in the PCars video was the GT version or something. Still, shaping up to be a great game and healthy competition is good for everyone.
There’s not another version of the P1. It’s the same one we have in Forza 5 right now. The display shown in Shmee’s video matches the one from PCARS (2:00 here → https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DresnFqP1tM ). About the sounds, I like the PCARS’ sound of the P1. Less flat compared to Forza (which is still superior all around in my opinion)
During this interview (2:51), Ben Collins (aka The Stig) talked about the 458 Italia (as It’s his favourite car) and he thinks they (SMS) are working on that. Could that mean that a Ferrari license is a real possibility now? Or just a mistake?
edit. Delay officially announced @BandaiNamcoUK: “#ProjectCARS will come out 20th March for PS4/XB1/PC. This is to allow @slightlymadteam to polish the ground-breaking racing experience.”
They postpone it by 4 months just about one month before release…now that’s interesting.
Just read that its because of two reasons: to polish the game and to dodge all the AAA releases scheduled for Q4 2014.
Well, its good they use the time to polish it, but that means there wont be much online racing for me for quite some time. Forza’s MP rooms are nearly abandoned and the MP part of FH2 is rather MEH in my opinion. And The Crew…well, that seems to be another UBI SOFT fail, i wasnt really excited by the Beta.
Good thing there are still some interesting games coming out in the same period, mainly LoTF and Far Cry 4. But no serious racing until March
Anyway, better to have delayed games than rushed games, that’s for sure. Plus more time for SMS to include more cars from this list at launch.

And who knows? maybe new licenses as well (Nissan? Ferrari?)
There will not be anything significantly new etc added in this time. Anything scheduled for DLC or whatever will not be fast forwarded into the launch window. It really is for spit and polish.
They want this to be their next big IP that will be supported for years to come ala GTR.
yup, the projected release date of F1 2015 is just before the season begins, and thats pretty much around the same time of ProjectCars’ release :S
damn it would have fit so nicely together, first FH2, then Project Cars and then F1 2015. I hate playing two different race games simultanously, especially if they dont allow free button mapping hits e-brake instead of “look back”
My thoughts exactly. Project would have been good short term solution until F1 arrived. Then use Project cars for races other than F1 later. Sounds like you don’t HAVE to use F1 in project cars though.
“Anything scheduled for DLC or whatever will not be fast forwarded into the launch window. It really is for spit and polish. It really is for spit and polish”.
Sorry Dust, can you clear that up for me? Right now I can’t remember on which forum, but I saw someone posting images of car models, some seemed to be done (like the F1 GTR), others were reported to be complete (like the Audi 90), others were WIP (Bentley GT3, V12 LMR, etc.). My guess is this guy was somehow involved (a senior member? don’t know)
Now, my question is: what happens to those cars? Can I expect them to be in the final game we’ll get in March? Or, if planned for post-launch, will they be kept as DLC?
Me and my friends were discussing this matter today after the delay news and we simply can’t understand when these cars will be released/added to the game.
The official response to your question ultimately is:
“the additional time we have will largely be spent on the aforementioned fixes and polish. While we may include one or two smaller features and pieces of content which had originally been pushed to post-release, there really isn’t time to add anything significantly new, or we’d just be back in the same position of the game lacking the quality level at release it needs.”
Anything scheduled for DLC will most likely stay still as DLC, dont expect much to change between now and march in terms of feature sets etc.
