People are cheating in Rivals!

Let’s face it rivals has the intergirity of a Hooker. U can use friction assit, bounce off walls and use illegal tunes/builds. On top of that t10 know this will patch it eventually and leave the glitched times up. Rivals is a waist of time and not worth doing in the slightest.

I watched the leader car in the Homestead event and it was making about 1000hp on the straights. Interesting… lol

Just be aware that if you were watching telemetry from a replay shared in game (as they are in rivals), they’re pretty sketchy. A lot of the stats don’t record properly or reliably. I discovered this after testing the hell out of a tune I was building and watching my stats via xbox “record that” replays (ie what was actually happening in game). Then I was watching shared replays from in game of my private league races and seeing wildly different numbers from what my tuning sessions produced that literally made no sense. One specific example is tires showing no wear even though the race was simulation, and I had to pit for tire wear during the actual race.

Replay telemetry isn’t reliable.

As for cheats… the only thing I’m aware of was that there was a friction assist bug when the game first came out, but I believe they corrected that.

I have a lot of top 50 leaderboard times, and some top 10 times here and there in Forza GT Homologated (usually less popular tracks like VIR Grand West in the rain; I think I’m number 2 there or some VIR variant). I don’t think of myself as very fast though, I’m way higher in FM7 than I was in FM6; the leaderboards in FM7 seem pretty weak still. I don’t see any reason to believe anyone is cheating. Good tuning makes a huge difference, and so does knowing the track really well and exactly how far you can extend without dirtying a lap (the shortest variant of COTA for example, allows a huge run off after turn 1 that less knowledgeable players never take advantage of). And finally, sometimes you just hit a lap really well and surprise yourself - getting perfect runs out of the right corners, staying on the limit of traction perfectly etc. My #2 at VIR was a one off time that was some 6 tenths better than my typical time and I never managed to get back to that ballpark.

The real pros are generally about 1-2 seconds faster than me if I’ve put significant time in at that track, but it’s entirely believable. I’m using a wheel and all the pros use controllers, for one thing, and I’m never using the best car for a given track. My competitive times are all in whatever Forza GT car I’ve been running in private clubs.

This is nothing new , I personally run full sim settings with in car view so none of these apply to myself but any way
1 chase cam vs bumper in car view … it’s minor but chase does allow a earlier judgment of pace/line
2 brake line having something to constantly judge your braking from again small advantage
3 Build vs track vs tune they know what and how to build and where to tune for optimal lap times
4 the big one and one that’s the oldest trick in the book … the abuse of normal steering ! It’s not hard to test and see what normal steering actually does. it’s definitely not just a more dampened input vs simulation steering … the front end physics are very different between them and if you tune towards abusing the specific difference in physics rather than having tuned for a better car you will see you can run a lot faster than some not doing this , the biggest time difference your see when doing this is typically on power cars

Add all of these together you have 90% of the fastest players approach to hot laps and pvp racing

Now imagine you got 100’s of players downloading these normal steering exploiting tunes and going into multiplayer lol Wait that’s forza’s current reality right

Did I read this right? Did you just call anybody that uses Normal Steering a cheater?

Is it still the case that you are faster with Manual clutch versus auto clutch?

I always had trouble with this, in particular with cars with Paddleshifters. Very unrealistic.

So you don’t have problems driving with a joypad, your problem is pressing 2 buttons instead of one… It’s so unrealistic…

Honestly it is. Go look into the effects it has on tyres temps and grip. I’m guilty of using it myself but go thoroughly test it.

Hardcore board should require sim steering. That would be fine. I don’t think a lot of people use sim steering with a controller out there It’s not cheating lol.

No tricks. Cars are tuned for that specific track with no assists and mostly sim steering drove with lazer precision.

Get faster

Are you sure that you are now the fastest racer in Forza?
Is your gamertag listed, #1, in every Rivals and Career Event?

Are you just kidding or what?

Since in the very same sentence he said “by any means” and he also said that “the leader is 7+seconds faster”, anyone with basic comprehension skills can figure out that he simply made a typo and he typed “now” whilst he meant “not”.

I doubt it’s worth asking, he made that post in January and haven’t posted since. Maybe give it a rest?

I get accused of this all the time in leagues. Was using a raceboy tune amd was told that “everyone knows all raceboy’s tunes are cheat tunes”.

I would hate them to race one of the top guys that are 1-1.5 seconds a lap faster than me.

Yeah sadly normal steering is definitely worthy of being classed … tested it across all different variations as ptg baby cow said the game changes its front end physics the changes in physics alone compared to sim steer is ridiculously broken but the fact you can tune to abuse this difference in physics is just too much of a advantage … So short hand yes normal is cheating in competitive play … long have I prayed for a full list of lobbies at full sim setting with incar or bumper view only along with the hardcore boards restrictions being altered to this too :frowning:

Had to google a bit, bit I found this post, i know its old. The Rivals times ARE in fact glitched. I am currently running a bone stock Camaro SS in COTA GP for B Class Time Trials and there is a dude that is running a Ford Falcon with a time of 4:02.994. My best time is 2:27.735 and no matter how many laps I turn beating this guys time by 1minute and 30 seconds, I still cannot progress to anyone who has a faster time than I do, or this guy with a 4 minute time.

Looking at the leaderboard currently, my time would put me in 17th place, not the 155th place.

I play on PC.

I have restarted the game, restarted my PC, added a set of tires on it… no matter what I do to legitimately beat my own time to get past THIS specific guy, I CANNOT GET ANY HIGHER RANKING

Edit: By the way check out the maple valley times for class B on the LBs. I set my own time there in the BRZ and there’s no fucking way you can make those times. It’s literally impossible. I barely made any mistakes and they are still 3 seconds faster than me. I know if I made mistakes and if I can go faster or not. At the max, 1 second would be the limit, not 3. I literally hit every apex and every single curb possible to maximize my speed and still 3 seconds off the best. That’s not possible no matter how hard you try. It makes it seem really obvious when people are legitimately cheating.

If people aren’t cheating then how did a racer named Lovely Cancer on xbox post a time on monza of 5.369 seconds in any car let alone a BMW i8. That is cheating.

I just use it as a guide anyway to improve my own performance, most leaderboards in anything are full of corrupted times unless actively monitored and checked, which, I doubt these are.
