People are cheating in Rivals!

Thats the sort of thread title can get you into trouble.

You may not like the fact some people are quite a lot faster than you and are able to use every inch of track that still returns a clean lap but you should refrain from using the “C” word unless you’ve any evidence to support the accusation.

i have thetop ten time for the Ferrari 614 on old la mans “tuned” and i never cheated on the leaderboard. i dont do rival cause i’ve heard they have serverly messed it up i got a 3:09 legitly but i’m pretty sure if everyone did that track my position wold be bye bye cause its true there is allways someone legitly faster than you.

Why don’t you just drive against their ghosts?

Im going to be straght up if your 7seconds off a top time then nobody can help you the problem is you.Its guys like you that make me laugh cause this game is way easier to go fast in compared to gt7 or project car etc its the only game were you will see all the number 1 guys ether use a braking line or normal steering or traction control or auto in r class etc except me that is.if you think your finding it hard with the above advantages then try doing it with no assists and sim steering on and no line no nothing its like 10 times harder. The point is if your that slow with the advantages then theres no hope for you and there is no such thing as cheat tunes good lord.

Savage, but true.

What is cheating?

If someone takes advantage of a glitch, is that cheating? That is a rhetorical question. Since anyone can use the glitch, the only advantage is knowing about the glitch and most if not all glitches become public knowledge… That is argument for it not being cheating. However, if someone is using the glitch they are not playing by the spirit of the rules. That is the argument it is cheating. Everyone has an opinion regarding this and I don’t want to get into that argument.

Modifying the code of the program is cheating. I think we can all agree to that. I haven’t heard of any code changes being out there. It doesn’t mean there aren’t any because this type of code usually isn’t advertised. If any exist, which I doubt, very few people would be using it and Turn 10 would probably find out about it and take care of it.

What I think the original poster may be talking about is some people are using glitches to improve their times. He may not be aware of all the glitches that can improve times. I will mention one thing I consider a glitch and that is corner cutting. We all know about it. However, it is surprising some of the corner cutting that doesn’t flag a lap as dirty.

Are people taking advantage of glitches in the game? Of course they are. Are people cheating? That all depends on your definition of cheating and if you consider using glitches as cheating.

T10 is the Track marshals. They are the ones responsible for the tracl limits. Its the Drivers responsible to use every inch of LEGAL track limits defined by T10. Its cut and dry if someone is cheating and no argument. Im sure everyone wish T10 wasnt so lazy in defining the track.

I’m often in the top 5% on leaderboards but the guys I race with twice a week are usually 5-10 seconds a lap faster than me. It doesn’t mean they are cheating, just that they are freaks.

What are you referring to? If you’re referring to the top guys running very quick laps I’ll tell you to pick up your controller and start grinding if you ever want to be as fast as them.

However, there are confirmed instances of people cheating the stock/spec rivals. These come from PC users figuring out a way to upgrade/tune their cars on some of the stock/spec leaderboards. The Alfa Quadrofoglio LBs for instance have some people running 1000 HP on their cars. I don’t know about you but I’m pretty sure a stock Quadrofoglio doesn’t have 1,000 HP.

I’m surprised everyone seems to be against the OP in here.

Everyone watch the replay of the guy at the top of the Jeep Trackhawk rival leaderboard. Bare in mind this is a stock event. The Jeep Trackhawk doesn’t have I’ve 1000 hp and forza wings as stock…

There are people exploiting the game just to have their name (not even their name, their gamertag) at the top of a leaderboard, and yes to me that’s a form of cheating.

The normal homologation leaderboards are fine, just naturally quick guys at the top.

Just because you googled it doesn’t make it true.

Take the new rival thay just came out it is a time set on all 3 laps there is no way the top 7 people set a one and a half minute time for all three laps combined rhat like 30 sec a lap at long beach full

Yep seen that and it is amuesing as that is 1 lap so guessing the game glitched and those times will be gone and wiped when T10 get arround to it. Now the Question is this are those times set on PC and Xbox Or just Xbox or just PC this could help narrow down the glitches as they may be caused By a system or OS Problem. Or by some other App running in the back ground Like Firewall or Security Software causing The problem.

I reported several issues with the way that event malfunctioned yesterday when it first went up and it was broken all nite … it got moved to the tech support section … the raptor event is broken too

I finally got to set a 4.22 in the multilap today but I don’t want to try and improve my time or switch cars because it broke each time I tried and returned to a single lap

So I tried things out to see if it’s still broken on the multilap rival and YES would be the answer … I ran the Porsche no problem then ran the Aston Vantage and it went back to one lap only being recorded and not only that but it is ten seconds off the actual 1.32 AND… it shows me running the Ford GT FE which on that run it was not the case it was the Vantage … so my 4.22 has been wiped out yet again … so no it’s not anyone cheating it appears running again or switching cars esp the Aston Vantage for me or maybe selecting a rival triggers whatever is broken

Claiming cheating is a hefty charge for what could be a server reporting error.

What actual incentive would someone have for ‘Cheating’?

OP, you should totally come by this thread HLR HLC
It’s a good way to measure your skills vs others. You’ll be surprised and sometimes even humbled by the skills some of these guys have. I consider myself pretty good, I spend hours testing and tuning, practicing and running countless laps until I know I don’t have anything else or run out of time, and more often than not, we’ll find someone faster. So with that in mind, enjoy the game, bugs and all, it’s still the best out there.

Some people just have all the skills.

I saw an R class Viper get a 6:23 or something on Nordschleife…what??? I’m fast, I know I am, but that doesn’t seem right.
