Name a small, trivial detail in FM23 that bugs you

One minor thing that annoys me is not being able to unsubscribe from certain messages we get in our inboxes.

I get the purpose of “This week in Forza” and similar messages but as somebody who visits the forum every day there’s no new info there for me.

Ugh. Every time I change my gearing. :hourglass_not_done: :hourglass_done:

Literally EVERYTHING is more accurate in GT7 compared to Forza.

I mean exactly what I wrote not anything else.

There’s a suggestion for this if anyone is interested.

Car Bays not placing the 4 selected cars at the front of the car list.

For that matter, the entire car selection UI can use better organisation. If I want to see all the car models (the way it is now) I should be able to toggle that on. Or if I want a list of manufacturers (Names and logos), I should be able to toggle that on. Or, if I wanted to select cars by P.I., then I should be able to select that.

And WHAT I SELECT SHOULD PERSIST, EVEN AFTER I CLOSE AND COME BACK TO THE CAR SELECTION MENU.

Also, car groupings should be on screen when viewing a car. It frustrates me to select a Ford Puma ad an example, to set my initial free play race, and when I want to jump to a GT3, the Ford Puma’s group is all that is available. I then have to set the car groups to any (some times scrolling for a long time to do so) and then accept changes. Finally after that I can select the GT3.

And why can we not restrict A.I. cars from using body kits and Forza aero?

Whay can’t we have the A.I. use the exact build we are running for spec racing?

Why isn’t player designs classified, so we can avoid race, or if we wanted to avoid nonsensical designs when racing Free play?

Why are there no A.I. in private multiplayer?

Why aren’t there camera height, pitch and stiffness adjustments for all views?

Yes the menus are the worst I ever seen in any game. It’s like none of the devs ever played a game themselves. It’s so many small simple things that are just wrong. A menu must be responsive and logical and not the opposite, like it is in FM23. Most 25 year old games had better menus than this 2023 game. There are so many delays and loadscreens and animations and such, it’s so bloated and ineffective.

If I could sit there with the devs explaining them in detail what is all wrong with the menus, it would be a completely different game after a few days of coding, with menus that don’t completely suck the life out of ppl.

Bethesda and CD Project Red already have horrible menus, but Forza Motorsport is the absolute worst.

A simple thing that has to be done is, that the cursor should always remain on the last used car and the racerules should also remain how they were set the last time you changed something etc. the worst part is, there is this yellow arrow on the car that marks it as last used, but they don’t take ANY ADVANTAGE of that. What is the point of this yellow arrow then if it has absolutely NO MEANING AT ALL?

Not working sliders

I never used the mouse tbh that is funny.:rofl::rofl:

Aussie Supercars with headlights

As far as I can tell, the only difference in GT7 is that there’s no Acura (they’re all Hondas instead), and Lexus is marked as Japanese.

I think it’s down to where they’re manufactured. Vauxhall’s are made in the UK, majority of ACURA’s LEXUS & INFINTI in the US.

Car selection from FH5 on the left FM on the right. Why leave all that space & only use the right hand side making you scroll down unnecessarily? Weird.

Acura, Lexus and Infiniti were more or less brands invented to reach the US market with premium products without the reputation Japanese cars have (i.e. cheap, and definitely not luxury). And most cars from these brands (with some exceptions, like the new NSX) are rebranded LHD versions of JDMs.

Manufacturing place wouldn’t work for a number of cars. Half the cars sold in the US are made assembled in Canada or Mexico after all. Some cars aren’t even built by their manufacturer, like the BMW Z4 and Toyota Supra MkV are made by Steyr in Austria.

On another topic, I agree FH5 handles navigating makers better. And, another thing that bugs me, is that it actually works with KB+M. On FM23, on the other hand, this menu just doesn’t work with KB+M.

I think the Mercedes G Class SUV also gets build in Austria.

A real tiny annoyance. No matter if you win or get wiped out & finish last , it always shows your driver shaking his fists in joy & getting patted on the back.
When I get damaged by A.I. , have to pit & finish a long way behind the A.I. , I definitely don’t feel as happy or pumped as my on screen racer seems to be lol .

By Steyr, yes. All the 4Matic Mercedes are built by Steyr. They also made the Panda 4x4 for Fiat, and the Golf Country for VW. They’re specialised in 4x4 systems amongst other things.

Oh that’s a good one.

If there’s a Suggestions Hub thread on it I’ll vote for it.

They are very talented in Steyr it seems, they are also manufacturing good firearms there.

Here’s one that I find annoying:

  • When you enter the pitlane during a race, Data Out considers that as idling, which means that when you exit the pitlane the UDP thinks you’ve started a new race.

When you’re calculating and tracking multiple laps (for real-time race pace analysis etc.), this effectively means that everything before the pitstop is wiped.

I didn’t notice that, but the fact telemetry stops when you cross the finish line means there’s no reliable way to know your last lap time, or total time.
