I’ll make the start, feel free to add anything you think is wrong to this thread.
-graphical bugs (matte liveries while they should look shiny)
-stability problems (currently it’s freezing in loadscreens)
-performance problems (no mutlithreading for high core count CPU’s, game is single threaded)
-server problems (connection problems)
-many cars sound just bad
-many cars don’t look like the IRL counterparts (especially head lights etc.)
-not enough cars & tracks (compared to FM7 content directly after release)
-there is barely content that can be called a career mode
-FOMO (fear of missing out) content while there is basicly no real content
-MP is also lackluster still no Nordschleife etc.
-Why no MP hoppers without training, qualifying etc.?
-Why no MP hoppers without safety rating changes so unranked?
-Why no ghost hoppers where EVERYBODY is a ghost?
-Why no drift and drag modes? We can’t even earn car xp with nice drifts in regular races
-A.I. is a complete MESS
-penalty system is a MESS
-safety rating system is a MESS
-menus are a MESS
-UI/UX is a mess
-HDR is a mess
-racing transmissions have horrible loud whine
-there are no gearboxes to choose from (we are forced to use 8 gear transmissions etc.)
-many cars have non working wipers or rain effects and other bugs
-livery editor is horrible
-importing liveries doesn’t work right
-still the same ugly generic carbon spoiler for most cars
-we can’t look at our cars in a 360 degree angle while upgrading it
-we can’t listen to the engine of our cars while upgrading it
-airfilter and exhausts don’t seem to have ANY effect on the cars sound
-racetracks are not like IRL tracks, they added fantasy decoration like balloons, blips, flags, lights etc. especially bad on Nordschleife
-sky looks lowres
-there are no real random weather patterns
-tarmac looks too shiny, just to make it look shiny for shiny’s sake
-no official option to turn off TAA
-DLSS and FSR2 both look horrible
-TAA still produces aliasing effects (jaggies)
-for some ppl the game looks blurry especially on consoles
-why DLSS and FSR2 create horrible ghosting effects? Why that doesn’t happen in other games?
I also created a counterpart where I started listing the things that are “right” to me.
Pretty much what you listed but a couple of the things which i could care less about. Like low rez sky, track surface too shiny(i think it looks great.)
I could go on but there’s no point because most of it(your list) is legit. And it would kinda be the opposite of the purpose of the thread lol
Drop dead bad car sounds, but environmental sounds are nice, it’s nice when your engine noise echoes in buildings(you can hear the echo clearly in Yas Marina)
-there is barely content that can be called a career mode
FM uses the term Career mode when it has nothing to do with Career. Or racing career at least. In a career mode you start slow and progress with faster longer tracks, but in FM, its just single player championship based playlist where you play bunch of random cars at random time. A good career mode I played on a racing game(motorsport based) is NFS Shift/Shift 2/Grid racing titles.
-MP is also lackluster still no Nordschleife etc.
I find MP experience quite nice, although a little lackluster but enjoyable nonetheless. Esp medium format races.
-menus are a MESS
-UI/UX is a mess
100% agreed, there is no option for last car used, i have to navigate to all cars and select the car, its a huge pain in the buttock.
-racing transmissions have horrible loud whine
OMG yes, the whine needs to go.
-Car engine sound has a chance to change after collision
-Cannot freely move camera in replay mode
-Cannot select players in current position in replay mode (only starting position)
-Replay does not show a player’s hud, or penalties
-Limited to 10 replays.
-Limited to 200 tunes (for 500 cars)
-Multiplayer lobbies are locked at 5 minutes to race time
-Cannot join players already in a lobby
-Cannot see the skill and safety rating of other players in the lobby
-Rejoining a party will unmute everyone
-No stats for anything
-Rivals does not start rolling, so you must always cross over the line then select “Skip Lap” (despite the game telling you a rolling start is faster.)
-You cannot tune your car during rivals, only in pre-race lobby.
-Rivals ghosts cannot be set to start ahead so you can follow them.
-No club/team mechanic.
-No spectator mode.
-No option to ghost during practice, leading to collisions due to differing speeds in traffic.
-Crashes when returning to the menu.
-Rivals is set on “Club Rules” forcing a full tank of gas, which can significantly increase the weight of some higher class cars, making them much slower than they would be in multiplayer.
-PI Rating system is also based on club rules, which allows the F1 cars to be downgraded into P Class without much sacrifice in speed.
-8 months later and still no Endurance races in multiplayer
-No nordschleife in multiplayer
-Pre-race practice in multiplayer events is too long.
-No votekick option
-Party may randomly disband when returning to the multiplayer menu.
-UI is awful
-Backing out of the settings menu after selecting it too fast has a chance to cause all control to disappear.
-Camera angle can change when pressing the button in menus.
-Pausing/unpausing after a big collision may cause the game to become mute and you’ll lose all control for 5-10 seconds
-Speedometer has a chance to be blank on race launch. (pausing fixes this)
-Cannot change quick chat prompts (Horizon has 1000 to chose from. This game has 0)
-Graphical fidelity is reduced from promotional footage
-Road has a rare chance to disappear
-Intermission will blast the GPU for no reason
-Players/cars flicker when changing gas in intermission/pit
-Game will sometimes change tire compound after loading a tune
-Tune will sometimes delete itself or become unable to be shared
-Ferrari F1 tuning may result in the tune to say it’s top speed is 75-85 mph with 0-60 “failed” when downforce is lowered
-Bump drafting at high speeds is not possible, the rear player will be pushed back
-272 mph is the top speed in this game, despite containing cars that can go faster in reality.
-No events in campaign that feature race cars… in a game labelled “Motorsport”
-FOMO cars
-No auction house for FOMO cars
-The crew chief does not have a model and never appears outside of a disembodied voice.
-The crew chief does not warn the player of approaching cars from behind.
-The prestige stars next to a player’s level will often disappear
-Game optimizes shaders every time it starts
-The narrator will force itself back on if you switch accounts until it loads into the menu
-Daytona Oval does not start rolling, so everyone’s launch is ruined by a steep incline.
-Cannot race with AI in private lobbies
-Cannot set grid position in free play
-Stock tunes for most cars are bad
-If you save the tune, the game may prompt you to save again despite not making changes.
-You can only mute yourself while driving
-The game resets graphical settings after every update (or whenever it wants to)
-Monthly updates with a rare chance for a single lackluster hotfix in a LIVE SERVICE GAME
-Most of the game becomes locked if you are not connected to the internet or are banned
-Game forces all players onto wet tires during intermission if the track condition is “Light Rain” (Track is not wet enough for wet tires, causing severe degradation)
-There is no creator hub to see the stats of everything that was shared (and the messages automatically sent about analytics are automatically deleted)
-Community messages about old content or content not even in the game (Endurance Races)
-Cannot access the “Upgrade” menu in Featured Multiplayer, forcing players to back out completely to the main menu to upgrade their cars.
-If you are banned, everything you’ve saved (tune, paint, vinyl) is deleted
-Small chance to be stuck at a black screen when attempting to practice, once it hits intermission, the game crashes.
-Qualify time has a small chance to be improperly calculated.
-If a player backs out of practice, their practice time may disappear from the leaderboard
-No way to see another player’s ping in the lobby or leaderboard
-No way to temporarily show the leaderboard while racing (to check positions)
-No way to increase mini-leaderboard size (Only shows 4 players)
-No way to reduce HUD scale
-No way to customize HUD positions
-No weather forecast/radar
-Cannot see player profile pictures
-Quick chat prompts are combined with the rest of the “Race Log” at the top right, when they should be at the bottom left, above the map
-Drag tires, no drag race events.
-Drift suspension, no drifting events.
-Players are often not ghosted after collision, even when going backwards or stopped, resulting in more collisions.
-Players are not penalized for poor re-entry onto the track, resulting in collision and penalty from a passing driver.
-Cannot skip lap in test drive
-You cannot skip the cutscene of driving back into the pit when you exit back to the event menu.
-Certain rims on the formula Mazda will become larger than the tires themselves, clipping through into the ground.
People who are 1 second slower in practice should/must be ghosted. It’s a huge waste of time and effort because my lap gets ruined by other guy who’s not on similar skill level/testing random cars.
I would put this at the top of my irritations. The amount of useless clicks is just plain wrong.
Tune a ride and hit the A button if you use a controller and you are asked twice if you want to apply the changes… how is this still not fixed??
Then the return screens are a mess, for some reason it only gives you a return to cars and not a return to main menu in certain places??
Again why is this still an issue 8 Updates going 9 in?? Do the Moderators not pass this information on in the team meetings because it sure feels like it!
Replay doesn’t even change the players position from what it was at the start of a race!
Truly sloppy effort right there. Also the serial rammers have figured out where they can get away with their childish antics so support will not act on the video footage because it was not completely identifiable
73 times this week since Monday, got away with @ANM_Sprinter suggestion on a few occasions, if not it would be 80 odd
Just weak stuff really
Yep, what really is the point when you get it right and some other wack job takes you out first corner or they sit within the 0.2 behind you to trigger the No Brakes at the next corner.
I’ve only been playing MP for a week and I’m just about over it. If it wasn’t for the spec racing it there would be nothing left to do in the game
Like those fools that spend the entire practice doing line lockers and putting you off your game then leave just before the countdown finishes, and if you hit one of those >redacted< you cop a red penalty that will not remove it’s self from your vision even when you go to qualify
This is a MUST
Luckily blind people don’t have to suffer it, there’s a positive!
There is something you missed @SuperHornetA51, Interior no wheel sometimes has a wheel and it’s more than annoying
It feels like EVERYTHING you do in this game has to call “home base” to ask IS IT ALRIGHT
Everything feels slow and clunky in the UI and since the hotfix 8.1 the tabs in settings feel like they have a ping of 947ms
One important thing that @JohnDoe9302 missed and it’s really important, is the return of Player-Card, I want to see how many of my tunes/liveries other players downloaded. Can you imagine the lengthy process I have to go through just to see which of my tunes are getting downloaded?
Menu > Cars > My Cars > Filter through 100s of cars to choose (if you are lucky yes that’s the one, otherwise repeat process) > Select Cars > Upgrade & Performance > Tuning > My Tunes and then and only then you can see the statistics of your tunes.
I don’t think that Raceboy77 created them. I think they used an automated program to do that, something similar to ForzaTune or something but from the devs themselves.
