Let's talk about audio

Oh read this a while back, absolutely overjoyed! And want to deeply thank everyone for putting in the hard work and labour to report issues and provide a consistent stream of feedback.

What a time to be alive man. Caveizel and Wisewell are both back. Prayers answered!

I think Forza is on a very promising trajectory. That is all I will say for now. Don’t want to jinx anything :grinning:

Hi. Will you go to the AMA?

Looks like Nick Wiswell has returned to Turn 10. He and Mike are the legends of Car audio!

In that way, I wish Turn 10 will start to change. So that will be their apology to the community for what happened at launch 1 year ago. They need to take initiatives as always.

And that’s how “Criticism” works, folks! They’re more like to start learning hard lessons to make the game better. I’d hope the same thing goes for the Car modeling too, which I think they’d appear in Future titles only…

Good times ahead!

No I believe the car modelling WILL improve in this game as they have a dedicated team for visual modelling from what I’ve read so far.

Hard to say how many cars will get this touch up. I’m hoping all that are affected. Let’s wait and let them work their artistic magic.

Alright then, let’s cross our fingers for the best. I really do hope the Car models will be updated in future updates, as an imagination.

In the post they made, it says they have reimagined their audio approach and all new cars will benefit from this moving forward. They also stated that the older cars which they feel and the community feels are off will be addressed. Which is great…

The Mustang GT '24 has a nice note in hood/bonnet (bit muted though) and chase. But in cockpit while I love the bass and feeling of sound deadening, I can’t really hear the underlying character and “personality” of this Mustang.

In fact, started the career races in B class and I always hear other cars having more clarity and detail around me. Am I not supposed to hear better clarity and detail from my own car first and foremost? I have the engine audio turned to full and AI cars to around 70.

Let’s discuss lads. I think the team still has a long way to go in terms of improving both new and older cars the game shipped with. But at least we’re finally off to a good start.

If most of you feel the 2024 Mustang GT’s notes can use some improvement, especially in cockpit, I’ll go ahead and create a thread where we can all vote.

Yup, there’s certainly something wrong with audio mixing at this point… It seams that other cars are way louder than your own car…

Yes, but that’s basically because the other cars haven’t been fixed yet, I think that problem will solve itself over time the more cars have new audio.

The tone is off. There’s actually not enough bass and such. Watch this vid here for reference >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHZfDLmgu8E

Also this one >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEwJcOBesMA

They’re still making these things a bit too bright in cockpit. Not quite 1:1.

How do you guys feel about the Jesko sound in terms of accuracy? Wondering if cars that were developed specifically for FM8 (i.e weren’t available before) already have a semblance of their new and improved approach to sound.

Perhaps create a separate thread for that one as this one pertains to the '24 Mustang GT only.

Thanks.

Just wanted to leave this beautiful symphony here.

None of the V12 Ferraris sound like their actual versions. I hope they get the attention to detail they deserve. They either have the wrong sound or just sound flat and hollow.

Hehehe guys,

I want y’all to listen to this '67 Shelby GT500. Put your headphones on!

1500-2k rpms sounds like something rolling around in the mufflers got too much fake popping noise. Nothing like the real car

Actually, on second thought, it doesn’t sound like the real car when switching to other camera views. Sound needs improvements otherwise, like source it from the actual car.

Turns out it’s not too accurate.

If they can give the 'Teg VTEC noises then they can give the Celica SS-II Lift. Every 2ZZ I have been around has a intake noise change when lift engages - less so when stock but very noticeable when tuned (especially with an aftermarket intake).

I hope a proper update for all the Ferraris is around the corner, particularly the V12s. I can’t stand that “placeholder” sound which is being shared across 8-10 V12 Ferraris!

So the BMW S63B44 (M5 F10, M5 F90) urgently needed a sound update, they really DON’T sound GOOD! They sounded much better in the previous ones! The misfires when you let off the accelerator are also too shrill and must be duller. The two cars also have DKG gearboxes that cause a shift bang (ignition interruption).
That’s how the car should sound like!

The best way to get a car sound addressed is to create ONE car topic per thread under the Troubleshooting hub. Select Car Issues, create a thread, and use this format for the subject:

“Cars - Manufacturer and Model + year - Car issue”

So after “cars”, write the make, model, and year, and then the issue - e.g. “inaccurate audio”, “weak audio”, “audio needs an update in a specific View” and so on.

It works, trust me! The more people see it and vote on it, the higher the chances of it getting updated.

Remember, one car, one issue at a time. good luck!
