This is far and away the best sounding Forza Motorsport game ever. I don’t know how accurate the engine sounds are since I don’t own any of these fancy cars. But they sound magnificent and distinctive. Additionally, every time you make an upgrade, especially to exhaust or intake or anything like that you, immediately notice it when you’re on track. All the auxiliary sounds of track, opponent’s cars, etc. are significantly improved as well. Just a splendid job, top marks for everybody on the audio design team for sure!
It is pretty good. Also noticed on some of the turbo cars, they blow off valves change pitch depending on what the engine is doing.
I gotta throw another one on the list. The rain sound is absolutely spot on. Just did a race at Grand Oak that had very light rain to start and by the end it was basically pouring. To hear the progression and difference in rain sound both as it hit the car and the tires went through it was absolutely astounding.
Also Grand Oak is a tremendous track. Definitely one of the best fictional tracks in any racing game I’ve ever driven.
agree for the most part, but did a race in the Lotus Emira last night and it sounds absolutely horrible, like a vacuum cleaner. Doesn’t sound like the supercharged V6 at all
So weird, when all the other cars sound pretty good
Hmm… I’ll report my opinion when I get some extra cash to buy it.
Audio is hit and miss. Some cars sound really good. Some “meh”… some downright weird and revolting!
FM’s sound design definitely stands out alongside the weather mechanics as the game’s two strongest points of immersion.
It didn’t really hit me until I progressed through the early ‘Built for Sport’ Cup in a 718. After upgrading the intake and exhaust, hearing the overrun, shifts, and sound processes overlaying during different throttle conditions all jumped at me, right as I’m in 2nd place closing in on an SLK55 that sounded more true to life than any other game I’ve heard.
Having owned a W204 C63 and having a CLK55 AMG in the family at one point as well, that thing sounded insanely convincing.
Progressing through the Cup, hitting tracks with different weather conditions, hearing the rain, wind shearing, the rocks hitting the wheel wells, and the tires going through several different audible cues, I was honestly impressed.
But… why did they get rid of Horizon’s ability to ‘preview’ rev the engine in the upgrade screen? I want to know what the car will sound like without jumping through a bunch of hoops.
Mercedes / Sauber C9 is the same way. V8 sounds like a 4 cylinder.
Best? Lmao. 3 or 4 generic turbo sounds, engine sounds mostly the same except now we also have distortion mixed in
