No change in exhaust note on v8s or v10s
The more I play the game the more I realise how lacklustre and “this will do” the sounds are across V8 engines, particularly classic V8s.
What’s worse is you upgrade them and they sound much, much worse!
What was the sound engineering department doing for 6 years? We paid the $100 premium price for placeholder car sounds??
T10 owe us an explanation for the generally poor sounds in the game. I mean I go from something beautiful like the Pagani Huayra or Ferrari FXX-K Evo sound to a classic Challenger RT, Boss 302 or Pontiac Hemi Cuda and I’m just holding my head … “What were they thinking?!”
Also, how do you go from generally incredible sounds … FM 5, 6, FH2, 5, etc. to such poor sounds for the most part in FM 2023? Did the developers think we would not pick up these audio inconsistencies and half a**ed effort, sorry to say?
I wish I had just tried this out on Gamepass and be done with it in a few days. I feel cheated, robbed and duped. No way this is built from the ground up.
Wonder if they could fix this by implementing exhaust headers, in reality “race,” means straight pipe, and I can absolutely assure you that you are right on these cars not sounding true.
This is the first FM game that I’ve not pre ordered and is just playing through Gamepass and I’m so glad… Love the handling and how the menus are layed out but sound and graphics wise they really need to step it up.
I blame myself, but after all the initial “pre-release hype” for FH5 and then the bugged release, I totally fell for the “pre-release hype” of FM. I’ll stick through it, but I’ve learned my lesson (finally!), I’m not getting excited about these releases anymore. Everything I hear will be taken with a grain of salt.
I concur that every single V8 in the game sounds horrible. The AI can be in the same car and the exhaust note of it could be spot on sometime. There’s no way any modern American V8 in particular should sound like a 80s muslce car. And yea those are awful too. Come on T10, been with you all from the beginning and this NEW FROM THE GROUND UP GAME is disappointing so far.
I have to agree. The V8s are pretty bad. Especially idling. Higher revving they sound more like v10s. Also the rpms don’t really seem synced to the engine sounds correctly. For instance cruising at say 3000rpm and giving full throttle sounds more like 1500rpm. They don’t really sound like they’re revving much until 4k+rpm.
I’ve also noticed changing the exhaust doesn’t change the sound on a lot of cars. Which would explain why they didn’t include the revving feature for the upgrade screen.
Exactly, they’ve taken a huge step back at the moment. Hopefully an update fix this. Just feel robbed at the moment by purchasing the premium editon “which I only purchase for Forza titles”.
Soooo by now i actually think that Horizon 5 is ahead sound wise, but they could change this ofc as with many things months ahead
Every V8 I heard sounds so off of the real one …
It’s like they are laughing of us like if are all need for speed fans or something…
Mustang especially sounds wrong…
What a shame…
They forgot that without proper engine sound there is no immersion… You can have beautiful graphics but without the matching genuine RICHFULL sound… No immersion…
The V12s don’t sound as violent as they were in FH5, FH4, and FM7.
I hope that they do. I just posted another thread about a certain car with the wrong sound… you guessed it - it’s a V8!
@MrAlexH Literally brings tears to my eyes when I hear the cars in FH5 or FM5 for that matter. How could this even happen? Makes my head spin, really.
Absolutely for me and probably the majority of people playing the sounds is crucial for the emersive experience that we could have.
Just look at FH5 some of those cars is just insane good sounding and it makes the game feel so much more fun to experience.
That’s what I’m saying about a lot of the V6 cars, the Lexus is350 sounds like a dang rotary how high and whiny the exhaust note is
Didn’t see a update come out, but a few of the V8 sounds “CTS-V and 02 Camaro SS” has changed, and sounds great!! Plus poweshifting is back if you time it right.
THANKS FOR LISTENING T10!!!
Exomotive Exocet has a Corvette V8 that sounds like a 4 cylinder. Lol.
FH5 really showcased the best in terms of how much power they can push using the Series consoles and PC. Car models look tremendously better than FM and sound supreme though not perfect when compared lol. The V8 lacks the growl, the loudness and the guttural depth like IRL when you rev the engine or drive.
Exactly and that’s why I think “Build from the ground up” crap is just the physics and not other things, the graphics and sounds is just way off
V8 does sound terrible. Pretty much all engines sound too muffled. But 2 of my rear engined Porsches ('82 911 turbo and '18 718 GTS), judging by the sound, has engines at the front
Greatness is in details and all the details are messed up in this game, speaking politely.
T10,
Thought that some of the vehicles had been fixed, but guess I was wrong. Please fix the sound of all V8s in this game. Horizon has done a perfect job recently, even the previous Forza game “How Hard Can It Be”. Having sound this far off is a deterrent at this point in play with some cars.
