I just wanted to express my gratitude over the engine sounds which have been fixed since the update. Pretty nifty, sneaking it in there and not mentioning it in the patch release notes. Nice!
Every car that I’ve tested out over a few hours at least sounds as it should. Cars previously not very impressive to hear sound a lot closer to what they are IRL. I can hear more detail in the engine and exhaust. It is more on par with FM5. Can’t say enough good things about it, it now really sounds and feels like a FM game. Sound system is alive and thriving off Forza, just like the good ol’ FM4 and 5 days.
Er… why is the announcer’s voice so loud now? LOL
And I really need a break from Forza as my eyes are half-blood shot and I’m starting to look like a raccoon.
Thank you T10 for listening to your fan base! Hoping to see the other bugs getting resolved too.
How come no one else has noticed are you sure it’s been fix with the update?
Not sure if people were complaining about the other cars being too loud when they were using bonnet/hood view and not cockpit view.
It has indeed been fixed, though the decision to keep hush about it seems odd. Maybe it’s an after effect of tweaking the GT360 and V8 supercars sound?
At the start of a race, as your car rolls towards the starting grid, notice how the idle is louder and clearer.
Set volume as high as possible, or the normal level you keep it at… and enjoy the additional detail - more prominent exhaust sounds, louder, crispier motor sounds, exhaust pops, crackles, burble and sputter even more audible.
I’ve been playing Forza for a long time on the same sound system mate - and more or less the same volume. It ain’t the same; major improvement. Now I don’t want to put down F6 at all.
I’d still say from a technical design perspective, FM5’s audio is slightly better, but the way they’ve improved the sound balancing is a very good start. Rumble strip sound, overhead passes, tire screeches… none of those sounds are overpowering any more. Sound balance is good. They tweaked it for sure.
Another after effect: the announcer’s voice has gotten obnoxiously louder… but mehh! I’m happy either way.
a lot of cars still sound like crар, nothing like irl
old ford gt sounds like a v6 and 2005 ford gt sounds like supercharged vtec, some ferrari’s also sound like rc cars, i can count maybe 10 cars that sound close to real ones, still could be worse, gran turismo worse
I tried a little and some sounded a small amount more detectable but some not so much. I also wonder if it’s because I am focusing on it. If I race my way through a full grid not trying to single out that noise will it sound as different. It may sound more detectable because I am listening for it.
I never had an issue with it but i play on a 7.1 surround setup that can hit pretty much any frequency you cant, TV speakers, sound bars, cheap surround setups and headphones cant do this game justice. not at all
It is much better isn’t it? The car idle sound is much more audible as it rolls towards the starting grid.
You can hear the motor better as well as hear AND feel the exhaust more now.
Cheers to you guys and especially Turn 10! thumbs up
As for some cars not sounding accurate - with a high car count, a few hits and misses are inevitable. FM5 had the sound down really well for almost every car. I go back and forth between 5 and 6 - 5, purely for the audio experience. Though I’m going to be putting down many hours more in 6 now that the sound has been boosted.
I also noticed I can hear my own car’s revs more clearly than before. Remember the old Forzas had a sound setting for “Default” or “Own Car” or something like that. It’s like they switched it from default to car sound now.
I know, right?! Those were exactly my sentiments, as if somebody just took the sound focus from default to “engine”. The balance is just right now; tires and ambient effects less audible, engine/exhaust notes more audible. Perfect! Can’t thank the devs enough for this, made my day.
i do not notice any big change in engine sounds, unless it’s for certain cars… i gave up, all i do is crank up my surround sound and hope my neighbors don’t complain (i live in a apartment)…
Another one from the 7.1 camp.
I’ve not noticed any difference except for the narrator lady is now louder. Hand everything cranked up, she comes on and nearly blows out my windows! lol
But yeah, i’m certain at this point it’s just a channel mixing issue when run through stereo speakers etc. It’s not being downmixed properly i assume. Whatever, i’ve not seen anyone with full surround have issues, whereas people with general TV’s have had plenty.
Still it’s good they’re working at it, but we do NEED AUDIO SLIDERS.
