I neither said you did or didn’t, it was actually aimed at giving a perspective a view to you the other dude who apparently has the private line number to every race driver that’s ever gone around Le Mans I was just not trying to have about 20 different quotes in one reply ![]()
Got’cha.
Great event. Finished mine about an hour ago. Initially picked an R class, but when it came to the count down, had the choice of P Class and went for that. Finished mine at some 353 miles, could have been more if it was’nt for griefers ( pitted 4 times ).
I’ve raced the GT, what do I have to do to use the P class? If I press X to view the restrictions it still says that I have to use a R900 GT car…I’d like to race again tomorrow, but only if I can use the P class the next time
Best I can tell everyone sits in an R car until the previous race ends…and then a few people get selected for P class before the next race starts. That’s how it happened last night anyway. Not sure if there is any rhyme or reason to it.
337 miles in the Ferrari 458, could have gotten more but I sat behind slower traffic playing it safe.
I didn’t note the exact amount but it was over 350 in LMP, and that was having to pit 4 times in total with 2 of those requiring me to limp back to the pits thanks to at least one intentional wrecker.
361 miles in 787, with 2 massive tic tac crashes, 4 pit stops and really very tired last 5 mins of the race. Was glad it was over come the end,
I love racing in this game…but at the end of 2.4 hrs behind a controller…I’m sure I have some sort of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome now haha
When or how we gonna find out wich cars we can use for the 2.4 Hour of Nordschleife Hopper ?
I will try to collect some drivers to join a lobby. I hope that we get a lobby thats not already running and finaly driving with mor than 6 drivers. Also the people i drive with are knowing how to drive clean. But they want to know wich cars to drive early.
Ran R class beamer and got 345 miles. Gunna do it again tonight with my buddy, hopefully will get P class. Fun race, was able to do it in 1 stop.
Finished the race in r class, 336 miles in the 458 with 4 pit stops.
Leading P class Mazda took me out every time he passed, turns out he was friends with guy I was racing for 1st place in r class.
I just had a very enjoyable race. I got wrecked in turn1 so I limped the whole of the first lap in my 787B, but the wrecker quit and everyone else was very good and clean racing. Particularly when I was lapping the slower R class cars. I managed to do 371 miles.
I’d like to thank the racers:
Battlestar Tex
J Bahri x3
WreckinBawl
Beer Emperor
And litening99G
Great race guys, thanks
And thanks to Turn10 for the endurance race hoppers with sim damage on
Finished first in R-class, six racers started, only two running at the end. Got sammiched in the first-turn shunt and limped around to pit after lap 1, dead last by quite some distance, then went one stop the rest of the way. There were no “real” passes, everyone I went around was either pitting or had run off track. Passed the leader right as he was exiting the pits, he was pretty close for about two laps, then he must have had an adventure because he suddenly wasn’t there anymore…he quit about five minutes later.
I had a strict policy of staying the hell out of the way of the P cars, who probably lapped me four times. Managed to avoid contact with other cars save for that first-turn fiasco. They put me on the outside of row 1, and someone got into me and pushed me into one of the P cars that had passed me in the initial run up to the corner. I think only four P and 2 R class finished.
Finished the event last night and learned that you should never endurance race a car you never drive. Got put in R class, and while I usually lobby race in the Corvette, ended up selecting my F458 that I never drove only because the artist who created the paint I had on it was in my lobby. Long story short, it was a long three hours of me drifting around Le Mans finishing second in my class (technically last because the other five people left) and completing 326 miles. I look forward to doing the Ring enduro in the future, but I doubt I will ever touch that Ferrari again.
…finishing second in my class (technically last because the other five people left) and completing 326 miles…
Anti I’d say you “technically finished 2nd” and if the others dropped out, they started but did not finish.
I use that logic to proclaim my 1st place finish in P class - 6 other P’s and every one of them was DNF. I’ll take it anyway. I put in 306 miles; 5 R’s also finished and the slowest of them was 314 miles. So yeah, technically I was… first. ![]()
ISP troubles led me to 6 starts & drops due to weak-network bad jitter that just wouldn’t quit. Put in a little over 100 miles combined in those, but with a touch of epilepsy I need smooth racing on-screen to make it past half an hour. Once I’d stripped out every other LAN device and got an ISP reset, I got a good clean network and nice racing. Picked the well-known Ferrari with a favorite tune; got dropped into the Audi e-tron at the starting line (another car I know well and had a favorite tune on). We all managed the first several turns really well: a little paint traded and some bumper touches, but the lawn mowing I saw was all unforced errors. After such a nice start I did not see the wreck-fest on Mulsanne Straight coming; of those that didn’t quit I took the worst of it but limped back to the pits in just 8 minutes. The rest of the race was great: everyone still in it raced pretty clean, usually passed well, and had a good time. I pitted 5 times: once for first-lap repairs, one bio break, 1 due to fuel, 2 just 'cause I preferred driving on fresher tires.
2nd race I was in the R class Ferarri, and it was also lots of fun. This time the better racers were in P and ran off with their own race. Several of us R’s stuck it out but there were some major stops: I tried to run out of fuel (mistake: tires wore out before fuel did), then parked for a sandwich and some chores, came back and finished with 280 miles taking 3rd out of 4 in R (4th place guy had 240 miles - a valiant effort, and I hope he tried again to make the badge).
Did a triple stint today! 3 races, 7+ hours, 1000+ miles.
First race was in R class, used a Viper. Pretty uneventful, and straightforward. Got tagged once (by either an Aston or Ferrari) and had to limp it around. I think the same guy got the 787, saw him smoking as well. Managed 332 miles, 2nd and 3rd had 331 each in a Vette and Aston. I was also the overall winner because the 787 had parked it and only managed 315 miles.
Second race, got bumped into P so I used the Toyota. Got a late start, made a pitstop, got some drinks, and a snack. The guy I was battling was running an Audi (don’t remember which). Had a few close calls with him going off and coming back on. Nearly rear-ended him a couple of times. He got away from me and I guess he parked it later on because when I looked up it showed me in 1st. I decide to pit, he passes me while I’m exiting. I try chase to him down. I ended up back in front of him, don’t remember how, but I think he went off-roading. Anyways, I’m struggling to keep the car on track (probably a lil fatigue), I come back on and he tags me hard. Everything except steering is toast. I limp it around and figure it’s all over. Later on, he ends up parking it and I lap him a couple of times. I end up winning with 357 miles, but I’ll admit he was faster than I.
Third race, back into R, back in the Viper. Got another late start, wanted to take care of some things. When I got moving, I saw a BMW coming the other way while smoking and now I’m P4/5. Then I screwed my self early on, by braking late into the first chicane on the straight, damaged the car and had to pit. Ended up running third and second. One of them was running a 458 and he was terrible. There were a few times I came up on him and it’s like he slowed down on purpose. We’re on the straight, I change lanes to get around him, then he changes lanes and boom! My car is done, so I limp it around and pit. I think him and the other Viper collided as well, because I come around a corner and they’re both smoking! And I don’t think that 458 ever did pit, because the next few times I saw him, he was still smoking. Anyway, I could never catch 1st. He was in a Vette and managed 328 miles and I 327. Kinda made me wonder if he parked it at all, had some bad luck, or I was just gaining on him.
Overall, a pretty fun day. I’m all Forza’d out. I’m Xbox’d out in general. Was gonna mess with Watch Dogs, but I guess I’ll do it tomorrow. Looking forward to Nurburg!
Well I guess It is my turn to share my experience.
I joined a lobby with 20 minutes to go. Okay I’ll wait.
Selected my Corvette for R class. Race starts and little did I know I got picked to run P class so I was thrown into my Audi R8 race car.
So I wait for the little in race count down. take off and am second in class going into turn 1 where the melee has already happened in R class. Pass all of that and take the overall lead going into the straight. Never looked back. Dominated my race and lapped the entire field at least 7 times.
I ended up running 372 miles. It was a very fun experience OTHER than this weird glitch that occurred to me 3 times during the event.
I leave you with a video I slapped together of these said glitches. Not sure if anyone else has ever experienced this, but enjoy lmao.
Forza 5 Le Mans WAT moments
PS. Turn 10 if you see this, feel free to try and fix this.
Got my 2.4 done in P class (Audi e-tron) and had a blast the whole way through. Seven racers began the race, five survived to the end. I took three pit stops - one after the first lap, thanks to an overly eager opponent. Apart from that, those who saw the race through passed - or let others pass - with courtesy.
In addition to the enjoyable racing action, this event gave me a new found appreciation for Turn 10’s recreation of La Sarthe. Combined with the fantastic sounds of all the participating vehicles, laser scanned tarmac and the superb physics, we are a few steps closer to the full-on endurance racing experience in Forza Motorsport!
So I decided to have a another crack at it. About thirteen in the lobby to start with. It’s funny to see people leave when they don’t get into P Class. Decided to go with E-Tron this time. I find it easier to drive than the 787B. I don’t know if anyone can confirm this, but I find the Audi to be less fragile than the Mazda too.
Ended up with three in P and three or four in R. Got caught up with some clown in a 458 at Tertre Rouge and went to second. The leader then cleared out.
I was doing about an hour per tank, so with about 1hr 37 to go I pitted. From a strategic point of view, I knew another stop under an hour would get me to the end.
Coming around to the Porshe curves I noticed a blue dot in the middle of the track. I couldn’t see anything but as I got nearer I saw a car ghosted. He was in an Audi too, so I can only conclude he didn’t realise it was sim and ran out of juice? As soon as I went past he quit.
It’s pretty lonely with only two in P and three in R. With about 55mins to go I pitted again, and that was pretty much it.
350 miles all up.
