I finished my race about the same time the real Le Mans ended
I drove in GT class in my Aston Martin and managed about 328miles. I finished in 2. place having been lapped once by 1. place.
We started 7 in each class, and in GT class 5 of us finished and only 2or3 in LMP class finished.
Most of my race was pretty uneventful. I wasnâs able to catch 1. place and 3. place wasnât really a threat, so I drove mostly all alone.
So basically I spend 2h40m hotlapping the Le Mans circuit
I completed this last night. I did 327 miles in a P car. I had never done an endurance event before and it was AWESOME. I dont drive P or R cars very much so I was a bit off the pace to start and had to take a few extra pit stops in the first few laps before I learned the limits of the car. Had a great battle for 2nd place in the last 5 min of the race. We passed eachother a few times and I ended 3rd. Other than that it was a bit lonely. Passing the handful of R cars was fun and almost everyone was a clean driver. Cant wait to do more of these.
Trying to get into a game but with 10mins to go got kicked out the lobby, so I rejoined and got bumped into another lobby with 1 1/2 hours to wait, just canât be bothered with this. Why canât the badge & title be like the others and run in private lobbyâs or free play having to wait for a new game is just another downside to multiplayer that needs to be fixed. Shame as I really enjoy this kind of challenge and think there should be more of them, but not in a lobby that keeps you waiting for such a long duration.
I though the same; but, after backing out two or three times from lobbies with excruciatingly long wait times, I found one ticking down from (no joke) five and one half minutes. I encourage you to keep looking - the race is great fun.
Took me 30+ mins to find a game earlier that wasnt over an hours wait. Had such a great time I convinced my friend to join me for another one. An hour later we are yet to find a game that doesnt require us to wait 2+ hours. Constantly getting put into games which started just a few minutes ago is rather frustrating when youâve been searching over an hour.
Yeah itâs great fun if you find a game about to start (or have the patience/time to wait an hour or two), but this stupid matchmaking is really putting me off.
I did it last night. Funny, after waiting 40 minutes I had to wait another 20 because people would come in and then bail when they didnât get the hot car.
So I did it in the Aston-Martin. Right from the start a griefer put me in the pits 4 times in the first 5 laps, dropping me hopelessly far behind. So I ran my own race, politely moving over for faster people, none of which did me the same courtesy. I got griefed a few more times late in the race by a prototype guy who was apparently bored. Heâd pull up beside me and push me sideways into the wall for laughs. I donât understand why people would wait so long to get into a nearly 3-hour race just to mess with the people who would like to enjoy the experience, or would try to ruin it at the end.
And yet, even with all that happening, I still finished 2nd in class. Somehow I passed a guy, though I have no idea how since I essentially started 2 laps down.
There has got to be a way to immediately ghost a guy who a) isnât at a minimum speed, and b) isnât facing the correct direction. That would stop the right-angle griefers who put their cars right in front of you at speed on the Mulsanne. The minimum speed requirement would solve a lot of the griefer problems with races like these. But I still like the idea of full damage, it makes you drive more carefully.
Last, every XBox One comes with a microphone. Use it. I would have been glad to move over if only I knew they were right on top of me, they didnât need to ram me out of the way and I didnât intend to accidentally block them. The time went by much faster when I found a guy to BS with during the race.
Got it today. The strange thing is, I tried the first time but parked the car after 144 KM, after the race was finished the achievement said 35% complete.
In the second lobby I drove over 430 KM, but can you spread these endurance races over more than one race, and still get the achievement?
This was immense fun. Got the GT nod so I jumped in the #4 Corvette ZR1 and heeded the advice of some others on here by hanging back slightly at the beginning to avoid the chance to get damaged before the first lap is over.
Made my way through the pack over the following laps and eventually got into first. Wasnât the fastest driver Iâm sure but seemingly the most consistent and so was able to hold it until the end of the race, completing 337 laps in the process.
Strange thing was all the GT drivers were clean drivers (sometimes clumsy-ish, but attempting to race clean!) whilst the P1 drivers were dirty to a tee. Had to make two pit-stops during the race, both times because a noddy in a P class car was ramming folks off the track. At least he/she had the sense to do it close-ish to the end of the lap making the recovery to the pits less painful. And they occurred at roughly the 1/3rd and 2/3rds race distance respectively so it was good for the old tyre refresh too.
Plenty of fun then - looking forward to the next ones!
I really donât want to run the R class cars, is there a way to change to P, or is it random for each lobby. Each lobby I hop into puts me into R class!
It looks like everybody that joins a lobby when a race is in progress gets R class, but when the race is finished and the next one start you could possible get another class, at least thatâs what happend to me.
Did this earlier. Used the R Class BMW. Finished 2nd out of 7 racers AND having to contend with 3 numpties in P Class who had nothing better to do than ram people after an hour and a half. I donât know what goes through these peopleâs minds bearing in mind I know for a fact they waited as long as I did for the next race to start (45 minutes).
The 2.4 hours of the ring should be fun. Iâm hoping for A and S class, anything quicker and races will be ruined by idiot drivers and intentional greifers.
I ran it last night. Was in a p1. The 2nd place guy had a buddy sit at the line for the WHOLE RACE and try to hit me. Hed get me 1 out of 5 laps, I have to pit. Porbably pitted 6 or 7 times⌠had 1st the whole race cept the last 10 min where his buddy wrecked me, then again coming out of the pit. Not a great experience, but still fun. My toyota tore it up otherwise.
335 miles and my hands are killing me. Chose the 92 BMW M3 GT2 and had to pit twice, once on the first lap due to some guy rear ending me and 2nd time due to fuel.
All in all it was alright and was expecting a bigger payout to be honest.
Where do we see to expect split classes & how it operates??
Confused re. rewards too⌠I finished at 337 miles but got an award that says I achieved over 350? Worse is the hopper says theres two awards & you need over 375!
Seriously Turn10 this is v. poor attention to detail. Weâve come to expect such sloppyness from CoD, we donât ecpect it from you guys.
P. S. while were on the subject, are you going to tidy up the leaferboards soon? they have been corrupted or hacked gor a few momths now. #feelslikeyoudontcare
Ran it this afternoon, and thanks to a loser in an Audi R8 who spent the whole race trying to wreck me (seriously? this is the highlight of your weekend, being a total putz?), I just parked my Aston Martin at 250 miles.
Walked away for about 15 minutes (leaving my car completely demolished by the idiot), came back for the last two minutes and got back moving and limped my way to 252 miles.
The challenge status showed 99% when I saw it didnât pop. Can you say ârage faceâ? Thanks for wasting my time! Between this and the âCalifornia Drifterâ keeping me from 100%, FM5 is rapidly falling out of favor with me.
It wouldnât have been a waste of time if you hadnât walked away for 15 minutes⌠True? If you committed to sitting down for 2 hours+, it couldnât have hurt much to stay for another 15 minutes. Just barely doing whatâs required is always taking a risk, so not getting this achievement is all on you by not using all the time you had.
I feel your pain about having a wrecker in your lobby, however. That is just sad, that thereâs a lot of such losers who somehow enjoy that kind of behaviour. Their reasoning is beyond me.
I just didnât want to deal with him anymore. I had to pit at least a half dozen times, once turning around at the Dunlop Bridge and going backwards to the pits to avoid a full lap with most everything pounded at 100%. Once I hit 250, I parked my car and let him stare at it as a ghost he couldnât touch so he couldnât get his rocks off anymore. It was especially inane when there were four total people in the race, three of them just trying to grind out the mileage, and this clown. The challenge states, âcomplete a race in the 2.4 Hours DâEndurance Hopper and drive 250 miles in the event.â I got 252 according to the results grid and was running at the end, that meets the requirement set by Turn 10. 250 means give me the badge when I complete the race with one inch more than 250, not âjust in caseâ run up to 255 or 260⌠so yes, it was a waste of time.
Everyoneâs got their thing, but spending 2 1/2 hours screwing with some random strangerâs game? No freaking life.
Oh, I couldnât report him fast enough once the race ended, I wanted to make sure I got him before he had a chance to bail out of the lobby.
