There really is no point to this as its all suggestive. Depends totally on the driver… Some cars, I’m very fast in. Others, I’m painfully slow in. For example, the Celica is a beast on the D class Alps, Ring and Spa leaderboards. I can’t be fast in the thing though and have no idea why. The leaderboards prove that its a great car, but I’m ridiculously slow in it. I can’t get the Celica within 5 seconds of my Mini time on Spa. Just because others are fast in a car, doesn’t mean you will be. The car/tune is a factor, but the driver’s ability has as much to do with it, if not more, than anything else. The truly fast drivers are going to be fast no matter what they drive. I have several friends that have shared number 1 cars with me. They aren’t close to being number one cars with me driving them though… Every once in a while, someone shows up in a lobby with an oddball car and just torches all the LB cars (including me, and I’m no slouch).
Don’t rely on stats, drive them all and figure out what YOU are fast in.
A more correct statement you wont find. Myself and a mate use each others tunes when racing against each other. When we use his on his beemer, he smashes me, when we use mine on my merc, I smash him. It comes down to our differing styles and the setups reflect that.
If you want a car to be quick in while driving the lower classes, spend some time tuning the car you want to drive to suit you. While the top of the leaderboards is a great place to aim, the first thing you should aim for is learning how to accept that some drivers are just plain freaky fast. Many of the ghosts in rivals seem to break the laws of physics until you tweak your setup a bit and then practice practice practice.
You could also go to a site like forzastats.com and see what times people are running and what cars they are using. That would give you more info as to what cars are popular. Add that to the info from ManteoMax’s site and you’ll get a better picture of the kind of info you want. It’s gonna be quite a bit of work though by the look of it.
I was looking for a easy way to list the cars but was not expecting to find one to be honest, the better option would be to compile a list by class, its the only way I can think to get those vital seconds so I can move up to the pro drivatars, the unbeatable drivatars are just that for me.
Also with the leaderboards some of the times put down seem a little far fetched and that will mess with the results, as already said the recommend or cars with the highest stats are not always the fastest, though nut to crack but that’s the fun.
Those “far fetched” times most definitely should be included. They show what is possible in that car.
The reality is there are not that many really quick players playing the game so the top end of some leaderboards have large gaps.
As Lou said try to work out how to improve your driving rather than looking for cars to help. Try the spec rivals and learn from ghosts that are quicker than you.
What’s far fetched about the leaderboards? You want the fastest cars, that’s the first place to look. There is nothing far fetched about it. The times may seem out of reach at the top, but they were actually run and done so legitimately. When I want a starting point for a car in a new class/track, I look at the top 100 times on the leaderboard. Whatever the most common car is, that’s where I start. I build that car first. Sometimes they work for me, sometimes they don’t. I don’t just look at the overall leader because guys like Chronic will beat the snot out of everyone in a car that I have zero chance of ever driving well.
No offense, but if you find the unbeatable drivatars to be unbeatable, than most likely, there are things that can be fixed with your driving that the car is not going to help with.
I can beat the expert drivatars with the fast cars like F1,Indycars,787B, but not the slower cars, my car just falls off the track trying to keep up because they are exceeding the psychics of the game like they are in the leaderboards, I know enough about racing to know what’s going on.
Sorry but nope. They are not exceeding the physics of the game – they and their tuners understand the physics of the game.
Sorry to say this and it will sound blunt but I have been there and am still there up to a point – excuses just slow you down.
Don’t assume they are doing anything wrong – try to find out what they are doing. It might be as simple as using camber of -3.0 or more, use springs 100 or 300lbs less than what you think is right. Does it all make sense in the real world? Some of it but not all. Does it work in the game without “cheating”? Absolutely.
I used to do what I thought was driving the doors off the car and was 10 seconds off top spot. Now if I drive the doors off the car I can be as close as a few tenths to maybe 2 seconds off top spot in the same car.
Drop the excuses or claims of knowing what is going on because they are not doing anything wrong. If you really knew what was going on you should be trying to replicate what is going on rather than pass it off as an outlier due to “implied” shenanigans.
I did download a few of the top leaderboard replays and noticed a rhythmic glitch that happens when you shorten video or replay data to make it faster than it really is, every couple of seconds the playback speed changes, its more noticeable when turning, have a look for it, also the cheat replays have faster engine noise because its higher pitched which is also a result of speeding video up.
Speed hacks are nothing new they have been around since the beginning.
No. What’s going on is a combination of driving ability and build (and possibly tune) setup. The drivatars on unbeatable in the lower classes are slow and easy to beat. The builds and tunes on the leaderboards may be unrealistic but the driving isn’t. The cars you mention handle perfectly. The ones in lower class require some understanding of throttle control and braking.
Instead of blaming the game, why don’t you state what cars you are using and if you are building/tuning a car post the setup here for further guidance.
Simple in the lower classes its all about momentum and corner speed…higher classes is all about point to point power and taking the corners slow and smooth…
Its whatever suits your style, some are faster in the low classes some the higher…
Plus in the lower classes you need a good build and tune not just a good tune…
Nevermind that most of the people at the top of the LBs are known quantities. No top racer wants a reputation as a cheater. They aren’t cheating. They are just really, really good.
