I didn’t think so at first due to the higher PI in class, but I really like my Ferrari F40 with a half decent base tune.
(For affinity leveling reasons, I’ve lately been racing only Ferrari, Ford, and Lotus based on class)
I have one on my Shared Tunes but it’s not the most updated version. The current one I’m running will go up later today.
Ferrari F50, dont even have to tune it make it any good. 08 Dodge Viper, has massive downforce and is pretty impossible to crash. 02 Corvette Z06, again doesnt take much, if any tuning at all.
Also a few more but they’re some of the more popular ones.
P.S. I wouldn’t recommend the F40 if you’re a beginner. Takes a bit of tuning to make it really competitive.
Cheat cars? If they don’t require a lot of tuning to be good, doesn’t that just mean the manufacturer did a really good job and made a great race car?
I do agree with you about the F40 though, I don’t think I would use it if I didn’t tune it up a little, whereas the F50 is good almost right out of the box with just a tire pressure change. The rest is really all preference like downforce, brake pressure, and diff settings but isn’t necessary.
I only use the word “cheat” in a tongue-in-cheek manor.
I find them frustrating to race against, because of how little effort the person using has put into making it competitive. But I’m quite a judgemental unpleasant chap.
I definitely understand. I also realize that I have, over the course of 4 Forza games, developed an idea and an understanding of what I like a vehicle to handle like, and how to tune it to accomplish this. I am by no means an expert tuner, I’d say I’m still a beginner at best, but I can take any car in the game and turn it into something I can enjoy driving. That doesn’t apply to everyone though. Some people can’t tune, some people don’t want to and so there have to be cars that any joe-shmoe can take and race with right away and have a great time.
The “cheat cars” as you call them, I wouldn’t use in A class because of the relatively high PI within the A class already.Sure, some of them have a bit of adjustable parts but I don’t know if there is enough room to make them into what I want. I would prefer a car that is lower in the class or one class beneath my goal. The three cars you listed I would definitely use, but most likely in S Class racing.
Completely agree.
I’m also at a similar level of tuning, by no means an expert, but I do appreciate seeing a less popular car, that’s clearly had a lot of time spent on it, win races rather than the more popular, easily usable cars.
Being a Chevy Guy I have to agree with all the Ferrari choices here , F50/F40/360 CS are all bad ass in the A class , Im still yet to find my A class chevy that will stick the corners like those Ferrari’s.
The following are cars I see other people making good use of (in addition to those already mentioned):
KTM X-Bow
Lancia 037
NSX
Shorter tracks the Mazda F2000
My biggest win yesterday in A class was in a Dodge Dart (2.5 seconds quicker per lap than the field which included Vipers, NSXs and Xbows). I would suggest people look at that for an out there choice. I don’t run A class a lot so I can’t remember my full list of cars but I think that car would be my go to car at the moment.
If someone has a well tuned X-Bow in a lobby, than you might as well forget about winning, or even challenging them. Very much a leaderboard car, pretty pointless to use in a lobby if you want some good, competitive racing.
I would agree if we had more quick drivers playing the game and if they used the Xbow. Most Xbow users I see either don’t have a good tune, don’t know how to drive it if they do (I assume they are not changing gears at the right revs) or they need the car themselves just to have half a chance.
Assuming that I don’t have the game, on ManteoMax’s spreadsheets, the X-Bows top the leaderboard on most tracks. It ultimately depends on the track and players’ opinions.
