Dominant Cars

I recently viewed a popular YouTube channel where a dominant car for A class was used. I was a little taken aback from the comments stating people that used this car were noobs and somewhat below everyone else. To be fair to the Youtuber, he did say it was a joke.

Personally I tend to steer away from leaderboard cars, trying to upgrade and tune average cars to do well in leagues - that’s my thing. But if everyone did what I do my main competition would fall away. It’s great for me when dominant leaderboard cars are in the lobby, it’s something to compete against, as the cars performance is consistent where driving skill isn’t.

My initial reaction to the comments on the Youtube channel were how dare they!? Maybe the comments were designed to align their allegiance with the Youtuber? Maybe they are Forza elitist, or worse, Forza fascists. In any case, personally I want people to continue to use leaderboard cars, on one proviso - race CLEAN!

It always seems to be alfas, BAC’s, and KTM’s who cause all the wrecks, not saying that Turn Ten should take them out of the game, but I’ve just noticed that

BAC Monos and KTM Xbows are incapable of racing clean. They will never pass you cleanly. I am convinced there is an electromagnet in the front of these cars that cause them to run into every single person they attempt to pass.

I don’t believe that is an accurate statement
The Monos and the XBOWS don’t drive themselves lol. And I have used my Xbow in a public
lobby, finished 2nd and never touched another car. I think maybe you have been fortunate enough to race Against a lot of bad Xbow and mono drivers

I can understand why some people don’t like using LB cars themselves. A really fast driver totally dominating a lobby of slower drivers using LB cars all the time is a bit cheesy. But at the same time I don’t understand why you’d complain about someone else using them. What’s the motivation? You really want to win but need everyone else to be using cars at least as non-optimal as you? It’s a weird argument. If you really want to win, choose the best car. If you don’t care so much about winning then why do you care if someone else is using one?

Such a flawed arguement, theres sound reasoning behind why LB/dominant cars are frowned upon by many people.

Take 2 people of identical skill and consistency, so identical they are exact clones of eachother, one is in the dominant car for the track and one is in any of the other fairly well balanced cars. Who’s going to win?

With your logic everyone would only be driving the same LB/dominant cars all the time since the moment someone with equal or better skill than you is using one, you have to as well if you want to stand a chance of a podium finish and a fair/clean race.

Simply put, don’t be “that guy” who brings a gun to a knife fight… unless you are a one-armed visually impaired little person with minimal fighting experience, then it’s okay.

Instead choose from the huge selection of swords, blades, knives and other pokey stabby things on offer which won’t see you slaughtering the field without a scratch or be chopped into 7 pieces before you take a single swing as it makes for much better racing… or well… fight… fight racing!?

In any case no one really likes “that guy”, especially when he’s an experienced or skillful racer

I don’t care about these LB cars, but in some lower classes like D and C they are a bit op what I seen. But i think it would be a great idea if forza added lobbies for stock cars, not sorted by classes but maybe in a 50-points range for example E100 - E150, …

That would be fair for everyone and would make great races,…one very important thing thought - I would like if you get some kind of penality for causing crashes (if it is on purpose - kinda like in F1) for example someone spins you out and then he gets a time penality of 3 secs etc. - because especially in higher classes i get rammed so often. And I got even messages sometimes by players thanking me for driving cleanly during a duel, so it seems that I’m not the only one getting stupidly rammed all the time

I don’t mind if people want to use LB cars but it gets annoying when that’s the only car they will use. Mostly see it in A class with monos and alfas.

Only bothers me when it’s someone capable of setting to 10-100 times on the LB’s with them, but then I remind myself that they paid for the game and can use whatever cars are available to them under hopper restrictions. It is what it is but no real need to hate on someone for using a LB car. Some people have a win at all costs mentality and will pick the best car for any class hopper they are in. Others just have fun racing and don’t care if they win every race and that’s fine to.

I think people have an issue with ‘leaderboard cars’ when someone who is fast uses them to dominate a lobby of slower racers particularly when they use the superior acceleration of the car to race aggressively - let’s face it almost every class has them. I would say your best bet is B Class for a more even spread but that still has it’s cars that dominate.

I agree though that you can get a certain pride out of beating these cars but you’ll usually need what I call a ‘secondary leaderboard car’ to compete. If i’m in D Class for example and wanting to take on the 97 Civic, Cosmo and Jeep Willys I’d probably use the Celica, Clio 93 and the Ford Cortina but if it’s against someone my pace or faster I’ll probably get beat!

There’s a gamer called AKRA1X who posts on here and he can use all manner of vehicles to get Top 10 times - I’d love to watch him take on them 97’s in the public lobbies!

There’s a saying that I use when it comes to Forza - ‘there is always someone faster than you’

Actually I think D class is pretty well rounded if you’re a good driver. There’s easily 30 or so cars that’ll run top 25 times and a lot of which you won’t see on the boards. My only gripe is with the jeep. It’s a cheap car that has unbelievable grip and insane acceleration. Basically it has broken physics. Its the only D class car that can run a top 100 by a so-so driver who is using automatic. I wish I was joking.

I’ve been avoiding it to not set accidental top 20s.

AKRA1X is fast. The race is for 3rd when him and I get paired up. We both seem to push each other and then 3 laps later we realize 3rd is 1500ft back. Good times.

You’re spot on about D Class. It’s underrated by many - you can have some great close quarters racing and there is a good variety of cars out there to race and tune. I think what a lot of people don’t realise is that it takes real skill to keep your momentum in a lower powered car and get every last drop of force feedback out of the triggers if you’re racing with a pad.

I find the Jeep really hard to race against cos it can take unpredictable lines with it’s level of grip and it’s a real spoiler in E Class.

I was a bit disappointed in the DLC this time around - I was hoping for a bit more modern stuff for the lower classes as I used to race B/C class a lot and liked some of the cars available in there and was hoping for some similar and competitive for D/E classes.

I’ve not been doing lobby racing so much of late but I’ll keep a look out for the back of your car when I do!

When it comes to b class anything with a 5.7 is leaderboard except 4wds pretty much any 5.7 engine car can be top 10s if you tune it well and have enough time on your hands to get a quick lap in.

If there is one thing I’ve learned about this game is that people will complain about one thing or another at some point. They complain if you drive an “LB car”, they’ll complain about your driver level, they’ll complain if you’re too fast, or too slow, they’ll complain if you win but don’t tune your own car. They’ll complain that you have a high driver level, or that you have too low a driver level. They’ll complain because you only drive one car, or they’ll complain that you never drive the same car.

I’ve gotten PMs, X Box Live messages and in game chats from people saying I’m too fast for this lobby, or that I’m not being fair to other people, or that I’m only good in ghost leagues. On and ln it goes.

A vast majority of people will do or say anything to justify their skills, their philosophies or their incredibly sensitive egos. They want everyone to exist solely to make them feel superior, and if other people don’t comply with their needs for being recognized they lash out.

I can’t imagine what it’s like to be really fast in this game - those people must be harrassed constantly by the people they consistently beat. I can name at least 2 dozen players who frequent the lobbies I do who are infinitely, and definitively faster than I am - no matter what car they drive - and judging by the amount of comments I get on my driving, or choice of car I can only imagine the amount of harassment they receive.

I really don’t care what anybody uses, as long as they’re not driving it into my rear bumper. Granted, it does get old seeing a lot of BAC and 33 Stradales in A-class, but what can you do? Send them messages? On most tracks, my 5.7 swapped GNX, Cougar and 79 Camaro are competitive enough to place well, even win a few, save for when there’s a wickedly fast driver in the lobby

Nothing annoys me more than getting in a lobby and hearing people complain about what im driving.

The usual stuff that i hear is:
You can only drive 1 car.
You only win because of your car.
You are using mods.
Cant you drive something else.
etc. etc.

A few weeks ago i had a encounter with 5-6 americans, they complained about what i was driving as soon as i joined the lobby and as a group they publicly decided to crash me and pretty much the rest of the lobby who was driving a car that they deemed to not be a good car to use. After a few races because i was still able to win, even though it was like playing dodgems, they started complaining about how i was ruining the lobby because others didnt have a chance of winning, even though they were crashing the entire lobby basically.

Even after i changed my car and still ended up winning, they just added the car to the list of cars that i can only drive apparently lol.

Problem is people would rather complain about what you are driving and trying to put you down instead of maybe asking for help or advice in order to try and improve. I would gladly help with cars and tunes, but instead they would rather crash you and complain because they arent good enough.

Also i dont buy the drive something slower to give others a chance to win…a person with that mentality will never improve.

I was useless when i started playing near the end of forza 3, never finishing a race etc. and instead of complaining about others and what they drove i just copied them, learnt the lines etc. and just tried to better myself so i can compete.

Online i want to go as fast as possible, I dont want to artificially slow myself down so others can win. Also they can drive the same cars as me no one is stopping them, but they choose not to and instead complain.

Point is as long as you are racing clean, no one has a right to tell you what to do or what car to use, you paid for the game, so you drive what you want. Doesnt matter if its a LB car or not, everyone else can drive it aswell. If someone is only beating you because of using a LB car, thats tough, pick something faster or pick the same car and then win or just settle for 2nd knowing you would easily win in a faster car.

Sadly they probably didn’t do this in a tag lobby, but it’s annoying when people complain about other people’s cars, I notice drag racers doing that in tag lobbies, they tell me my car is bad just because it isn’t made to go in a straight line over and over again. What’s even cuter is when they are in a Volkswagen Bug or in a Ford Coup

I really hope you reported these clowns. Sorry you encountered these online bullies but by the sound of your post you managed to maintain your composure and what a fantastic example and standard you have set for others to aspire to.

I don’t often listen to lobby chat so I’ve no idea if anyone ever complains about what I’m driving, but I did have a particularly good night in R class once when my profile was borked and I had to play on my wife’s - so I had a girly gametag and a 0 driver level, and the only cars I had were the Porsches and an Ultima I won on an early spin. I must have won about 20 races in a row using only the Porsche GT1 and Ultima (both pink) and you should have heard the abuse I was getting. It was hilarious.

It’s even more funny when somebody says my rx7 13b is leaderboard and it’s really is off that pace by about 1 second average then my 5.7 rx7 lol. What you have to realise is turn 10 built this game around noobs so your going to here some dumb noob comments along the way.
