I havent created any of the “always fast cars” but in B class the hyndai genesis (shared) is amazing around the ring. For a pure grip car thats off the wall is the 1978 king cobra (shared). It did very well around bernese.
Who cares? Use cars you like instead of whats on the leaderboards and you will have a lot more fun. Also beating people using leaderboard cars in normal or cars not used very often is a great feeling. Everyone usig the same cars is crazy boring and makes the game feel stale imo
I care, that’s why I made the thread. This is the place to share the cars people like to use which they feel are good.
I use the Ferrari 360CS in A class, not because it’s a LB car and because I like to smash the competition. I use it because it’s a car I’ve always liked.
I think it’s a good idea to look at the leaderboards to see what cars folks are driving to make the best times, but that doesn’t mean those cars are the best choice necessarily to accomplish the feat. I also agree that you should find upgrade and tune your own cars within the class for the job. I’m one who don’t go with the flow of the crowd, but in this case I make the exception!
Looking at the leaderboards isn’t quite the same. Often the cars chosen there are specific to one track and are used by the best drivers to acheive the best times. This isn’t always the best reflection on which car is good in an online lobby over many different tracks.
Ah, that reminds me of how much fun I had killing B class lobbies in FM4 with my Lincoln Continental. I made a killer tune for that thing, and with everybody and their brother using the stupid OP Honda Civic, they did not appreciate being whipped with the land yacht so badly lol. I was even kicked from lobbies once or twice for it, and hadn’t touched, much less wrecked, anyone. Good times… lol
for speed tracks the Daytona in S class by Raceboy is a monster currently holding 7-10 on one of the Daytona night tracks, In B class Buick is solid allround (though slightly favors speed) and Carlton on Daytona (a bit slippery though) in B but otherwise little experience with each of them, BMW m3 in C class (good allrounder but has a tendency to drift). While i havent driven it myself you can’t go wrong with an NSX been seeing a few at the top of LBs on several classes and im sure B class wont be an exception
I will warn you about B class though the mini invasion has supposedly hit the LBs on the OP mini thread so if there are lobbies for B there will likely be many abusing it if it is still alowed
anyways bought a tune and NSX and yeah as i thought great grip car and quick round hock short though amusingly when i checked the LBs on hock short the top car on the LB was a land rover defender a fair few of them at that I love forza sometimes
There has to be something wrong with that defender, anyone who has driven one will know they don’t handle but amazingly it seems better than the purpose built bowler which makes no sense.
The leaderboard being new are not necessarily the best place to look right now.
Especially with the difference in PI. - seems like all my old A class builds are mid S now (which is a bit of no mans land. Lots of sacrifice to get back down to A and have to max or go race slicks to get to top of S)
The S class '13 viper gts did ok getting back to s class after I imported it and it was r824. It’s a pretty fast grippy (for that viper - no acr but way better top speed); descent lobby /career car.
I respect your choices and it’s clear that you value grip over grunt which is definitely a competitive choice but you are missing out on some amazingly fun and still fast cars in D class. All of the American Classic sports and muscle cars with the exception of the Hemi cuda can really bring it in D class. (Everywhere except lime rock). It’s so much fun to drive cars with more power than grip for me, and I get to do all my passing on straights, so much fewer accidents. I’ve got a couple tunes shared that are very good in D class (70 corvette, 67 corvette, 70 el Camino, 69 nova, 70 challenger). They will all keep up with an LB trans am and they are a blast to drive.
Forget me if I’m wrong… Why do people race leaderboard cars? These leaderboard times will have been posted by people racing alone doing time trials, just because it is the fastest around an Empty track doesn’t mean it does well in races…
