hey what kind of a game is this ? in night races head lights are not sufficient …i cant see anything especially while driving in tunnel and moreover there is no option to switch it on or off in this game…same as well for the windscreen vipers lol…
so how can this game call itself simulation ? I think assetto corsa is still Number one Racing game of alltime
Are you playing in HDR? If so there are options in the settings to change the brightness and HDR settings. If you are not in HDR mode then you will need to adjust your TV settings brightness, gamma or backlight settings.
There are no options to turn off wipers and lights. These are on or off depending on the circuit and time/weather settings. Some cars simply do not have either light or wipers (as in real life) so these will have to drive in complete darkness on tracks like Nurburgring.
Where does this game claim to a be simulation game? Turn 10 and Microsoft do not make this claim. Review websites and some players do but Turn 10 don’t claim to be a realistic simulation.
In fact Dan Greenawalt himself never wanted it to a be a proper simulation game http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=604301
I think maybe 8-10 years they where considered simulation games, but racing sims have came a long way since then. Assetto Corsa is a great simulation game and is designed to be used with a wheel and pedals but is terrible on a controller, these games tend to target more hardcore gamers. Forza on the other hand is designed as a casual game using a controller and is good at that. It is designed to appeal to a much larger market than Assetto Corsa. Forza Motorsport is more like a middle ground between arcade and sim.
It is not a really a proper or fair comparison to compare Forza to Assetto Corsa, Project Cars 2 or iRacing. A better comparison is Gran Turismo or GRID.
Their are some cars that do not have headlights therefore they can’t come on. I have never driven a race with a car (which has headlights) were the lights do not come on on night tracks. The headlights do not come on on tunnels in daytime races, but after about 1 sec the light balances and you can see again. The game seems to simulate eye adaptation with light levels. But after the light levels adjust you can see fine.
Happens to me in the Endurance GT lobby. I think there’s a glitch where if I change my car after I’ve been loading into a night environment, the headlights for that car don’t come on during the race. Does it every time cause I like to switch cars for every race.

This seems to be the case; happens to me in the hot hatch ghost lobby after i switch cars before a night race. Like you, i like trying different cars all the time instead of just simply using the “best car” for the lobby like everybody else seems to do.
Should mention the cars perhaps i experiences it with though…2014 Golf R and the Ford Focus RS (newest one)
Probably not the greatest idea. Imagine being in a on-line race and some snot-nosed 10 year old just constantly flipping them on and off behind you…I’m all for them working out the bug that sometimes prevents them from coming on in a night/rain/dusk race…Please dont give anyone the ability to control them on their own…thats a recipe for disaster.
I agree that should be an option, I don’t really know why you would include lights and wipers without an option to turn them on or off.
I guess they were just trying to keep it simple. This wouldn’t help the issue with some cars not having headlights. I guess they could exclude those cars from competing on night tracks but of course you would then have people complaining about that.
This. Also if the headlights are on, the lightcone is way smaller compared to what headlights in reality look like. It’s all because the hardware can’t handle too long shadow cascades. Same reason why the tail lights are relatively dimmed down or at times look like they are off completely, it’s to save resources. Turn10 wanted native 4k on the X and dynamic weather. All these compromises in graphical fidelity are the result of that. It won’t change because they literally can’t change it without breaking the 60fps
Interesting, since MS made the claim if the One-X being the most powerful console ever. Forza 7 isn’t as graphically intensive as some of the most detailed PC games, so the One-X should be able to handle more graphics being thrown at it. Anyhow, I can also understand that they can’t have too wide a gap between how the different versions look between the older consoles and One-X.
There is a bug though for sure - as the headlights seem to be selectively coming on or not at all.
You can crank up the brightness on your TV ( using your TV remote, not the XBox) for the night races you want better visibility in. Makes it overly bright for daytime races and for other games, so you’ll want to return the TV to the settings you calibrated when you first set up your XBox.
Might not work well on Spa in a no-headlights car, but works pretty good on Sebring.
If changing your brightness is making daytime races or other games overly bright then you might want to adjust your backlight, black levels or contrast levels instead.
And definitely turn off any Eco mode, energy saving stuff, sure it uses less energy but it makes the screen so dark it’s almost unusable, it may as well be off.
Renault F1 at Le Mans at night is a hoot. I chose the right track but didn’t notice it was the night race so the first few corners were fine until I hit the first straight and it was as dark as dogs guts out there. Should be a Forzathon challenge.
Ive encountered a weird bug just yesterday were my headlights flickered on and off all race long. Other than that i haven’t had any problems since playing with hdr on. Without hdr the game looks dim in general. I like the headlights forced to be on, wouldn’t wanna bother switching them on and off.
I dont have an hdr screen but a calibrated one…! im on PC not on any garbage generation consoles which we DO NOT NEED these kind of things anymore as of today getting close to 2018…! they were good in old days but not now…
and yes some cars dont have headlights but others DO NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT LIGHTS while they are working…! far lights dont work only short ones work when the are in use…and suprisingly in photo mode there is an option to switch on or off the headlights…
so this game is not a simulation but fans claims that ok then…but you cant compare this to gran turismo is superior than this at least the gt5 the last one i played and finished with a Level40+40 both sides.this calls itself real driving simulator and has an arcade mode near simulation.
in forza horizon 3 there is two options frame smoothing under video options and other steering linearity under advanced control but in fm7 doesnt include these options…! the game continuesly freezing sometimes because of abnormal sudden gpu usage increase about %30-35…another strange thing i realize that after doing some races about 4 or 5 race with different tracks…game begins to freeze and use abnormal gpu power withe the same track i raced before…and i quit game then open again and resume where i left off then it works as silk and not freezing and abnormal gpu usage… this is because i observed gpu memory usage is getting bigger and bigger after track by track…and gou memory doesnt flush so game starts to freeze especially with 4gb GPU memory cards…anyway
i want SUFFICIENT HEADLIGHT to see and FRAME SMOOTHING option to smooth play and GPU optimization together…
I like to use 1975 BMW Motorsport 3.0 CSL in S class hopper and this is the car, where lights are not working. Front and rear lights are off in night races…
