How do you turn on headlights?

Headlights on my car are off for night races—how do I turn them on? Impossible to see at the moment. Xbox one version.

Not sure if you can. It’s strange they don’t come one when you go through a dark tunnel. It must be possible since they’d have to come on during a day/night dynamic transition.

There is no day/night transition.

There is only some mild night/dawn transition at best. And probably vice versa.

I was under the impression lights were automatic as per FM6. What car are you using?

It’s the 3rd race in the Hot Hatch series in the career - I’ve tried three different cars in that category, lights are out for all of them. All the drivatar competitors have their lights on—because it’s a night race though at Sebrig, it’s impossible to see without lights.

Any suggestions?

i’m playing right now will report to see if this is an issue on PC

It would be class if T10 could incorporate a manual on/off headlights feature (perhaps pressing on the thumb stick in the same way you doot the horn in Horizon). Would be cool for multi-class races. Flashing people as you come up to lap them

Some cars like NASCAR, GTO and Formula cars don’t have headlights.

I did a offline custom race with rain forecast for middle of race at Nurburgring. It was overcast & I could hardly see the track. Headlights you can turn on or off would be great addition.

This issue fixed itself - I exited the game, restarted, and my cars magically had headlights .Coding gremlins, looks like.

This worked for me as well, so it appears this is the way to rectify the problem. Thank you

This worked for me as well.

I noticed this in a few races, seems like a glitch

Turn 10, fix this issue already. The game has been out over 2 months. almost 3. This is ridiculous.

Isnt it fixed

I’ve never even noticed an issue

4 months later - and I still see the bug when you have to race in the dark when all AI cars have lights on.

Well, turning “assists / suggested line” on while in race helps as you will see where the road is going to turn but T10 - GET ON IT AND FIX THIS already! :frowning:

I too haven’t seen the issue. Unless in race cars that do not have them. I have seen lights out on cars as damage, although I am not sure if they even notice on their screen?

The lights seem to be classed as cosmetic damage and can be knocked out by hitting something, even though it can be argued this should be treated as functional damage not cosmetic damage.

The problem is that light sources in the game sometimes dont throw light at all. They are there (like lamp posts) but they dont illuminate anything. Same goes for headlights in sunset or dawn conditions. They should be visible on the tracks surface to some extent but they are not. Also many rear and brake lights are way too weak lighted. They need to pop more. GT Sport should be the benchmark here. I think they nail the track lighting coming from lamps, headlights and rearlights.
